ScissorTail Roofing came highly recommended to us since we were new to the area. From the first day I contacted them, they were able to come by the house, inspect the damage, and communicate their findings with our insurance. We appreciated their willingness to help us through this process since it was our first time needing a full roof replacement. Once we received the green light from insurance, ScissorTail’s roofing crew was able to install the roof within a day and the gutters were installed in a couple hours the next business day. Their crew was very courteous and informative. Our project mangers, Lance and Mitchell, were kind, honest, and helpful in explaining the process throughout the duration of the project.

Absolutely love working with Scissortail. Our house was leaking water in along the front wall due to poorly installed flashing by the previous owner. Scissortail identified and fixed it up so well that there’s been no further leaks since. They also did a great job with the interior damage repair. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Scissor Tail did a perfect job on the replacement of a cedar post (4 in x 6 in x10 feet) on the front of our home! The post was adjacent to a large window. We were concerned the window could be damaged by the removal of the damaged board and placement of the new board. The job was completed in an afternoon; the new post was expertly inserted and painted exactly to match the exterior paint. It is impossible to tell the large post has ever been replaced. I highly recommend Scissor Tail's work and would definitely use them again for any other future projects.

Lance at Scissortail was great throughout the entire process of evaluation, quoting and getting our roof replaced. Top quality materials and workmanship. Lance followed up with us and took care of a couple things after our roof was replaced. Let me start my giving the receptionist a shout out for being at her desk working hard answering the phones. We tried 5 roofing companies (unnamed.) they never called us back. the receptionist at scissor tail, roofing, and construction was very helpful and nice and had some one call my husband back very promptly. Lance and Mitchell and Braden. Took excellent care of our needs and listened to everything. Lance and Mitchell came out gave a quote , and had Braden and his team out to do our roof immediately. I had to stay home to make sure things was great. And I highly recommend scissortail roofing and construction. The got the job done cleaned up like they never was here. Update: I saw Scissortail Roofing’s response and want to clarify few key points

This absolutely should fall under workmanship issue and should be covered by warranty, or at the very least, addressed properly. No other contractor has touched the roof since we moved in. Scissortail was the last company to be on it, we moved in and had the first leak and hail storms (it held up fine against the hail). Your team came out to inspect it, said NOTHING was wrong. Suggesting another provider caused the issue is simply false

Over ten independent roofers have inspected it. Every one pointed to poor workmanship & missing materials. You claim your install photos show underlayment, ice and water shield, and step flashing, but Chris from your own team admitted on record that step flashing was missing in key areas. I have video proof

The screw (one problem of many you caused) mentioned in your response doesn’t explain the widespread issues for improper install that were confirmed by licensed professionals

Also, Chris said the roof was significantly damaged and suggested filing an insurance claim. But every other roofer disagreed. That felt like an attempt to pass responsibility

I hired a different company, because I couldn’t wait while water leaked into my home. Chris told me directly your company wouldn’t help unless I rehired you and PAID again!

Your public offer of a “resolution” now feels disingenuous. You had the chance to make this right, and didn’t. You cut corners and the job wasn’t done right. That’s not my opinion, that’s the consensus of independent experts, pointing out the results of Scissortail’s poor workmanship, and trying to shift blame only confirms why I will never trust or recommend your company again

If you’re considering Scissortail Roofing, I strongly urge you to reconsider. This is an expensive job, and if you care about your roof, read this review in full

They installed our roof when we built our home, and we had a leak almost immediately. To their credit, they came out and addressed it. But less than six years later, we’re leaking again. A roof should last 15 to 20 years, not start failing in six. That’s simply unacceptable

I met with Chris (nice guy, by the way) from Scissortail and showed him the damage, along with multiple issues like missing step flashing and random nails embedded in the roof. His response? “I don’t know why they did that back then.” He admitted that things weren’t done correctly, saying, “I wouldn’t have done it that way.” I’m confident that admission is on my doorbell camera in case the company tries to deny it later

I gave them more than a week to escalate the issue to their leadership (who also built our home). They promised a call with a resolution, but never followed up. I had to chase them down repeatedly, only to receive vague, unhelpful responses. Meanwhile, we had water actively leaking inside the house. I wasn’t about to let an entire room get destroyed while waiting on them to take responsibility. I ended up hiring someone else — out of pocket, just to stop the damage to both the roof and the interior. The roofer I hired confirmed this was a clear workmanship failure from Scissortail

To be absolutely sure, I brought in ten independent roofers. Every single one pointed out serious flaws in the original installation. And I can prove it, most of them said these things at my doorstep, within earshot of my camera. One even told his boss on the phone, “This was sloppy work, boss.” They all noted the missing flashing, lack of felt, not enough vents, and other basic oversights. I’m not a roofer, but even I can see corners were cut and the job was rushed

I’m not saying the current leak is only due to their mistakes — but it’s clear their subpar installation is the root cause. A properly installed roof doesn’t fall apart in a few years. This has been a frustrating, expensive, and completely preventable situation

This is my honest experience. Take it for what it’s worth. If you hire Scissortail Roofing, you’re taking a big risk, one I’ll never take again

I needed a roof repair caused by high wind damage. ScissorTail was very prompt on our initial meeting. The repair material was delivered to my residence within a couple of days and the repair was made promptly after that.

I have used this team for two big projects. The first was total gut and rebuild after a flood. The second was repair of my roof after hail. Great experience with Raymon Walton and his team with our remodel in Norman! They moved walls, added a hallway, added a bedroom and a bath, and did it all without us having to be there to oversee the project. Every room but one was touched and communication and quality were exceptional! I would definitely recommend them if you are in the market for remodel and construction!

the day of the windstorm i had a large area where the shingle blew off my roof. scssortail was here immediately to put a tarp on my roof. several days later they repaired my roof with new shingles. they also did a very thorough roof examination of my entire roof for insurance purpose. scissortail roofing is prompt, knowledgable, and communicates well. they answered the phone on my first call….they are very professional and fair in pricing. i highly recommend them

I have a MULTIFAMILY, SINGLE family property portfolio in central Oklahoma and Norman area. It’s well known that Joey Wishnuck and Matt Morgan and their awesome team of professionals have a great reputation. They are far beyond the norm for getting the best support, documentation , for insurance claims, restoration and reroofing which they did on our entire property portfolio. Matt Morgan is the absolute best at working with your insurance claim reps and the most thorough estimator, negotiator and performing the huge necessary function of an insurance claim. In giving a reference you need to understand, I have high expectations of professionalism and follow thru, I am a general contractor, have built all over Oklahoma and have been a builder of 1000’s of apartments and 100’s of custom homes and they had the expert teams to handle multiple properties in a expeditiously, fast, clean, orderly process to make sure everything had the utmost quality control and implementation, in the shortest amount of time possible. They worked hand in hand with my property manager to make sure that all residents in all properties were not inconvenienced at all and kept the job sites impeccably picked up of all material and debris. Any punch items we found that need to be looked at were easily resolved immediately.
On a scale of 1-10, this company, the owners and anll employees are a 15!!! I was so pleasantly surprised at the management and logistics they implemented. Better than I could have done. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scissortail replaced a couple of shingles which blew off during a storm. They were responsive quickly and job was completed quickly and cost was reasonable. They picked everything up and did not leave a mess. I will definitely use them again…… if I have another roof problem .

ScissorTail came out to fix a mysterious leak around my window. My roof had been replaced by another company less than 6 months prior. They worked hard to find where the water was coming in through a valley that wasn't sealed

Had a great and professional experience with these guys from the planning all the way to the end of the project. They were knowledgeable and had recommendations for some of the issues we ran into, very efficient and timely, and they kept me well informed on where they were at in the process. My project was a facelift in my kitchen at a very reasonable price. We replaced the doors, added soft close to everything, added several pull out drawers on the deep cabinets I had, added a pull out trash can and painted interior and exterior white, lastly added new hardware. Turned out so beautiful and it now matches the rest of my house. Would definitely work with this team again. Before (teal) and after (white).

I chose Scissortail Roofing and Construction after checking with friends and coworkers who had experience in construction. All told me that Scissortail had a great reputation for a real good job that lasted. I decided on them based on the stellar feedback.
I was not disappointed. I had some damage to the back of my homes flat roof. Wasn't sure how well they could repair it. Other than being a different color , the damaged area was repaired so well it looked like no damage ever existed. I have not had any leaks or other issues since they were here.
On to the clean up. I have had my home roofed before and I know about checking the lawn for nails and stray shingle pieces. After they left, I walked the property and didn't find as much as one piece of shingle. They were all over my property but with no evidence of it. No tracks thru my yard and no damage to my gardens. I am thoroughly pleased with the job and the professionalism of the staff that initially met with me. After my last roof job, which leaked a week after the job, this experience was so welcome.

We had a roof leak that two companies have tried to fix without success. ScissorTail Roofing and Construction came and did an inspection and evaluation and within an hour they found the problem and put a plan together to fix the issue. Lynn Murphy, ScissorTail contractor, led his team on repairs to my home, following a major hail storm that did extensive damage to the roof and siding. The crews that came out to tackle the various tasks were always professional, friendly, and informative whenever I had inquiries. After that initial job was completed, I again called upon Lynn to assist with further projects I'd had on a wish list for some time. Through my Chickasaw Tribe, I was awarded a Home Improvement Grant and had a vision of what I hoped the end result would be. Lynn and his team did an exceptional job, and I couldn't be more pleased. It is sometimes difficult determining who one can trust as a woman living alone, and running the risk of being taken advantage of. My full trust is in ScissorTail, Lynn, and all those he entrusts to carry out the work.

After a major hail storm in April of 2021 I contacted my insurance agent to get their advice on how to proceed. I was advised to contact a roofer and find out the extent of the damage. I contacted Scissor Tail Roofing and Construction and advised them I needed a roof inspection and that two of my roof vent covers had been blow off my roof. With in a couple of hours two men responded and replaced the roof vent. Caleb was my project manager and he inspected my roof and other storm related damage. Caleb said he would be glad to meet with the insurance adjuster if I wanted him too which was a great benefit. He was able to point out some damage the adjuster missed. My roof was installed within a few weeks, new gutters were hung and painting to fix chipped paint. Caleb did a great job keeping me informed throughout the process. I will definitely use Scissor Tail Roofing and Constuction in the future if there’s a need.

After the Norman hail storm in April of 2021, our house needed several repairs. ScissorTail Roofing and Construction was instrumental in helping us get all the damage repaired. Our roof, windows, siding, guttering, etc. was all damaged and it was great having one POC to manage the entire project. Lance was very friendly, professional and kept multiple sub-contractors coordinated. He masterfully worked with our insurance company as adjustments needed to be made to the insurance company’s original estimates for work to be done.

I would like to say that if this had not been a major hail storm that impacted so many homeowners at the same time, the work would have been completed much quicker. Lance, Scissor Tail and other sales representatives had hundreds, if not thousands, of customers to get work completed at the same time. I know it was cumbersome to keep all the projects coordinated. Lance treated us as if we were his only customer. He never appeared to get frustrated with my many questions.

We will definitely use Lance and Scissor Tail should we have claims in the future. Or, construction would needed.

I had used Scissortail Construction for a remodel when I bought my house. When the horrendous hail storm hit Norman in April, I immediately texted them. They were out the next day to see what needed to be done. They met with my insurance adjuster and stayed with me through all the repairs. Caleb was my project manager. He was amazing. Lance and Rayson were an amazing team. We had problem after problem after problem with our Insurance company and these guys were able to not only navigate the world of claims, but get the best result possible. Before being introduced to Scissortail Roofing, we had claimed with two different roofing companies and both of the claims were denied. These guys were able to do the work necessary, document the damages, play whatever game the Insurance company makes people play, and in the end were able to get our full roof replaced. The roof looks great!!

10/10, look no further, I cannot recommend Scissortail enough. I first worked with the company when we replaced our roof in 2019. The process was seamless, the crews were timely and very tidy, and the the quality was outstanding. We enjoyed the experience so much, Rayson was my first contact after we purchased a new home and needed to replace a portion of flat roof that was holding water. The price was fair and the work was completed very quickly. We had a slight miscommunication regarding the material we wanted to use, which was more my fault than theirs, but Rayson went above and beyond to correct the mistake and put everything right. It’s honestly refreshing to work with a contractor that genuinely cares about your satisfaction with the finished product. They’re the only roofing company I’ll work with going forward.

We cannot recommend ScissorTail enough, especially Ray. Our horror story begins with another roofing company in which ScissorTail had to fix their mistakes.

The house had closed, and the new buyers had moved in. As a military family, we moved to our next station across the country. Unfortunately, without being nearby, the old roofing company took advantage of us; specifically in delaying the job completion. They delayed the completion of our roof by six months, overcharged us by 8k, and would ignore our attempts of contact. Come to find out they ran expenses we did not approve.

As the matter got out of hand, we contacted ScissorTail. Ray was assigned to us. He was able to get the job done in less than two weeks. He was responsive and kept us up to date daily. It made a stressful process effortless.
