We have had Scholten do a number of projects for us from a concrete driveway, roofing, painting. Fair pricing, reliable, and excellent work ethic and detail oriented. Very pleased with their professionalism.

I saw Drew and crew building a neighbor's deck last November and finished the job Thanksgiving week. Bitter cold but they did a wonderful job. Drew came out and gave me a bid which we signed in January but even by then I was 10th or 12th in line for a new deck. They are one busy crew and it's no wonder they do an excellent job. Just finished my 12x16 replacement which they got done in 3 days tear down and construction and clean up. Looks great, it doesn't wiggle anymore, won't rot and I will never have to stain again. Scholten Construction is a hard FIVE Google review from me.

I reached out to Tim for a fairly small concrete project, because of his professionalism, integrity and desire to perform to the very best of his ability, I ended up having him completely redoing my garage, driveway and whole front yard. This company stands behind their work to the fullest, Tim didn't walk away until the very last detail was complete. They are easy to work with, wonderful communicators and the quality and skill level can't be beat. We are already planning phase 2 with this amazing company!

I was in need of a small roof repair. A poorly installed skylight needed to be removed and covered over. They were very efficient and took care of some other things that needed attention ie.properly attaching a cable and some facia to the roof. Would I call on them for any future projects? Absolutely!

Tony and the rest of the Scholten construction crew did an amazing job siding and painting our home. They were responsive to our needs and delivered more than we asked. Tony was very quick to respond to a call or text, always taking the time to listen to our questions and requests. The quality of the craftsmanship is exceptional. I’m a perfectionist and they delivered beyond my standards. From start to finish they were fantastic to work with. I will be using Scholten construction for all of my future home improvement projects.

Very happy with the concrete project we did with Scholten Construction. Lenny and his concrete crew were efficient and very professional while working through our project. Tim was great to communicate with and the follow through has been excellent. We’ve had other smaller concrete work done by others in the past but this was by far the best experience we’ve had. I built a new house and had Tim pour the basement, garage and driveway. Nice guy but does very sub par work. People familiar with concrete have told me it looks like they didn't know what they were doing. Tim agreed to redo the third stall driveway but is now avoiding it. He didn't pack the pad the front steps are currently on and they have now dropped 3" and refuses to fix it and keeps pointing fingers. Asked him to pour my back garage slab 12x22 with no slope and it has a 3-5% slope. Expansion lines are all cut crooked and front stoop was supposed to have a gradual slope and ended up with over 7 degree slope. On top of this he asked for money immediately after finishing every section of the house which is very odd but I paid him. I'd stay clear of these guys especially for concrete work. If you wanna see first hand I'd be happy to send pics or drive by my house.

They did a fantastic job on our new driveway! Tore out the old concrete and poured the new driveway very quickly. Would hire again.

They were very prompt at coming out for an estimate, which was reasonably priced.
Even with the rain delays they were able to get us on the schedule quickly.
Once here they were friendly, efficient, and stayed until the job was completed. They kept up with keeping the area clean.

We hired Scholten to replace our driveway and did a very good job even during tearing out the old drive they were careful not to tear up my sprinkler heads or anything else. Eric and his crew poured the new concrete in the morning early and removed the forms and placed the sod around the sprinklers in the afternoon. They cut the expansion joints in before leaving and it looks awesome. Thanks for all the work you did.

Eric and his crew did a wonderful job replacing my driveway. Very professional. They made sure my sprinkler heads adjacent to the driveway were undamaged, replanted the sod, cleaned up and made sure I was happy with the outcome!

We had a great experience with Scholten construction. They poured us a new patio and replaced concrete panels in our driveway. They worked very fast and did great quality work. The price was exactly as quoted. We would highly recommend this company.

Very professional, fast, courteous, and quality work. From initial bid to demolition to construction and clean cleanup Scholten Construction did a wonderful job.

We worked with a contractor employed by Scholten who misled us on who we should pay and on what timeline it would be done. When I called the main company number, they were unaware of the quote, the payment we made, and the project in general, which was extremely concerning as the work was done by their contractor who they passed our information along to in the first place. I was assured follow up today, but did not hear back. We also had to request they come back, as they initially installed gutters letting out directly on our foundation, which defeats the purpose of the gutters. In fairness, the roof repair and gutter repair did eventually get done, but we have not verified the look of the roof by climbing up there. While Scholten as a company seems okay, we had a poor experience this time.

EDIT: Scholten replied below, but the contractor told us he was with Scholten and when I called the owner, he told me all checks should have gone through Scholten. Unsure where the misunderstanding was here, but every step of the way it was claimed it went through Scholten.

I worked with Scholten construction company and they did great job on my driveway. I would recommend for any one who wants to work with them!

We are extremely happy with the house painting project completed last week. The painting crew, Jed and Trey, did awesome work! They were hard working and efficient with meticulous attention to detail, as well as very accommodating during the process. We highly recommend!

They replaced a driveway, a sidewalk, and added a parking pad. The work looks great! During the project they discovered an underground PVC for a downspout needed to be lowered to ensure my concrete would meet thickness requirements and they took care of it. I was anxious and concerned about details of the project, but Tim handled that very well and answered all of my questions and special requests. All that quality work, charisma AND a winning bid. Over two years I had about 4 bids, and theirs came in thousands under the next lowest and not at the expense of quality. Scholten construction is the right choice and I highly recommend.

After getting several quotes and looking at many reviews over the last 2 years we finally decided to get our driveway redone as well as add another pad. Tim made the entire process so easy! From every question and concern we had from start to end they made sure we knew what was happening as well as that we are happy with our new driveway. Doing a major overhaul to the outside of our home. Using Scholten for our deck, concrete, and painting. The deck build is done with the rest to come in the spring. Thrilled with my experience this far. Drew is very attentive and always responds quickly to calls, texts, or emails. I've changed the scope of my job several times and he is always willing to change as needed and accommodate. His crew was respectful and professional, and the craftsmanship is second to none. It's very hard to see that beautiful deck outside and know I can't really take advantage of it until spring. We can't wait!

Reliable deck companies are hard to find! Drew and his crew did an amazing job from start to finish replacing our deck with correct footings, spacing etc. Drew was extremely responsive, and knowledgeable. His crew was efficient; basically done in a week(and our deck is large)from tear down to reconstruction AND cleaned up after completion. Price was fair considering they did everything top notch. We definitely recommend Scholten Construction and would absolutely use for future projects knowing they also do painting and concrete. We just had several rooms in our home painted. We also had to have some water stains painted along with some repair work done due to my dogs scratching the walls by the door. I also just had new windows installed
and they were more than willing to do all my varnishing on the trim around the windows for me!! They look fabulous!! Excellent communication and a job well done throughout! This company is AMAZING!! Tim had great communication from setting up the estimate to letting me know when they were going to start the work to letting me know when it was safe to drive on the new concrete. Timely, professional and great quality from these guys!

I called for a quote and the next day Tony came out to give us a quote. The painters Trey and Jaden were very courteous and easy to work with. I have an older home that had a lot of peeling paint. They did a fabulous job scrapping and prepping to produce a good finish. I had a panic moment where I realized I hated the color I chose. Trey and Jaden were kind and understanding and we pivoted to a new color, even though it was already on 3 sides of my home. I would have them come do work at my home again. I recommend them to anyone looking for a quality paint job!

Tim and his guys replaced half of my driveway that was poorly installed by a Ronning contractor. The dirt under the concrete had collapsed after 6 years.
Scholten jacked the cracked stuff out and replaced it perfectly.

Little backstory in that we had the work started with a previous contractor but that was not going well with poor communication and follow through.

We met with Drew Monday (10/31) and have a new deck at the time of this review writing (11/2). Despite the suddenness of the request, Drew was able to get a crew out to acquire more material and assemble a deck for us. That alone was worth every penny to my wife and I. Knowing what they can do in a pinch has me convinced they are even better when they are given more time to plan.

We could not be happier. They were here when we were told they would be. They were done sooner than we expected as well. Just can't sing their praises any louder. Fantastic experience here! Thank you to Drew and team. Highly recommend, to anyone who reads this, to give them a chance to do similar for you.

O Friday my old deck was taken down and new 4x4s were put up and cemented in ground. Monday morning 2 guys came and started on my deck ,where it is to be attached they noticed the siding was rotted so they replaced it painted it and continued on. The next day they came out finished it up, cleaned everything up and even slid my potted plants back ( to heavy for me to move). Will gladly hire them again.

I hired Drew as my general contractore to move my house and to do all phases of that work. What a disaster. Drew took the job as he said as a favor but he had no idea what to do. We provided people who would know what the requirements were but Drew would not contact them. So instead of paying what I should have for a foundation he charged me $6000 to much. He would not listen to other people involved in the project. He started work on the land before he had the building permits. He would argue with me when I told him to ask the house mover about the
requirements for the house foundation. The house mover has been in the business 30 years and knew exactly what to do. When I told him that the movers said the foundation was wrong he immediatly became defensive and threaten to quit. We only had so much time for the project and could not fire him at the time. He messed up the foundation so bad we had to spend an additional 7 days in an RV. We spoke to other contractors in the last week and they could not believe what he charged for the work he did. The electric contractor he hired was rude. He yelled at us when we asked him for an itemized statement and said he would charge addtional for that. He pressured us into paying him immediatly or have a lien put on our house. When Drews team accidently broke a water pipe instead of saying "Oh that is to bad lets get it fixed for you," he just said I am done and walked away. Leaving us with a major issues to getting the project done. Drew said he took the job as a favor and then held it over our head that he had other projects going. If you can't give your full attention to a project then dont take it. We had to scramble to get the other projects done so we could live in our house. If I could give no stars I would. He continually made excuses as to why he could not get our project.Leaving with us having less than 30 days to move our home. Even the minnehaha county building inspector said he went way above what was nessary. He also was untruthful about obtaining the necessary permits. When questioned about it he told me he had them on 3 different occasions. I called the county and they verified that no permits had been issued. He started ground work before the permits were even issued. Other contracts said a project that should have cost around $50,000 instead of the $75,000 that it cost us thanks to Drew.
I think in my personal opinion that the only project Drew should do is maybe an outhouse. I would never think about hiring him ever again. He is expensive and unwilling to admit he doesnt know everything or ask for advise. If you question him on anything he gets defensive and will quit on you. I had to do a lot of the work my self to get memberships paid, ultilites to the house and contractors set up. The electrical contract said Drew never hired him. He said Drew mentioned he had a job for them but when it came time to put the electrical to the house the electrical contractor said he had no idea that he had this job. We had to fight to get utilities hooked up to the house in late October and had no heat or water the first night

Crew showed up on schedule, built our deck in 1 day. Good communication all along from scheduling to walkthrough. Cleaned everything up before they left. Great experience. These guys take pride in their work and obviously care about satisfying their customers. Would definitely use them again.
