Schoenherr Roofing

I had originally given a lower grade below. There were some communication issues and an accident during my roofing project. I ended up speaking to Calob with resolution to the accident and finishing of the project. So, although I can't give 5 stars it was a very good experience that Schoenherr did follow up and resolve all the Issues.
The process of going through getting the estimate and being told how the project would be handled was good. Unfortunately after that things were very disappointing. I was told I would meet with a project manager and walk through the entire thing, that never happened in fact I never met the project manager, I rearranged my work schedule to meet and he was a no show. The dumpster delivery called and said they were on the way a day earlier than planned. We went ahead with the roof replacement after a phone conversation. The day of the of roofing one of the roofers stepped through the roof and his leg was through the ceiling of our family room while we were in it. sent a message to Korey (the project manager) if he was aware of what happened and I got a text "we will fix it". He never came to see what happened. An employee named Rick called me to do the final inspection and collect payment. I had to explain to him I still had a hole in my dry wall and that I expected Korey to come and do the final walk through. Call form Korey "I don't do that". even though Dylan had told me the project manager did the pre and post walk through. Finally the dry wall was partially fixed and Rick came and did the walk through and described some "vents" that were to be installed. I also asked where the 19 sheets of wood were used and he had no answer even though I was told I would get pictures and updates on the process of the roof as work was done. The roof has been finished for 3 weeks and no contact yet about the vents or final payment. Communication has been poor through this project. I am disspointed I chose this company, I did it based on the visit for the estimate. I would actually like Mr. Schoenherr to call me to attempt to explain everything.

We are very happy with the work done by Schoenherr Roofing. These days, it’s hard to find contractors who deliver the results they promise, but this one really did. From start to finish, they were courteous, professional and no details were overlooked while the work was being done (location of the roof allowed us to witness this)! You can trust Chad and the crew from Schoenherr to do your job right!

Justin from Schoenherr Roofing came today and fixed a chimney flashing leak issue we had at our Condo. He also inspected our entire roof and made some recommendations for additional chimney work that we should consider in the near future. Justin was very professional and courteous and completed his work on a very timely basis. Thank you Justin.

Everything about this experience was phenomenal. Ben (the sales rep) spent a lot of time with me explaining what I needed, the construction methods they use, and what each step of the process would be. He even came out to check again when another estimate tried to tell me I had something I didn't, and was available to answer all my questions while I was deciding between estimates. It's this level of customer care that made me decide to go with Schoenherr.

The install was scheduled quickly, and Kory kept me informed with what would happen and when, checking in to make sure materials were delivered, and paying a visit to make sure everything was on track with the install. The crew was on time and out by dusk, and was very professional with quality craftsmanship.

The gutter crew was quick and efficient as well! And the QA inspection was just as thorough as everything else I experienced with this company.

With such a huge investment, customer service goes a very long way for making this easy to swallow. I was cared for every step of the way, and you can't put a price on that. Thank you all!!

At the end of April we had strong winds that did damage to our roof. Ross Schoenherr answered my call and immediately got one of his employees to come to my house the same day and place a patch on the roof to prevent further damage from the approaching storms. The Schoenherr Roofing staff have worked very hard with me to get AAA to cover the damages, emergency services and repairs. However, the only people dropping the ball with this whole process has been AAA. AAA Insurance Claim members in Royal Oak has been stalling since April on paying for the emergency services and saying they are considering the bills. Jason from Schoenherr Roofing finally did the repair today, and took the time to inspect the whole roof for any issues. He added caulk to spots where the old caulk had started weathering to ensure we have no water damage issues down the road. This was a bonus, since that was never in their original quote. Schoenherr Roofing demonstrated for me they value customers and go the extra mile for them.

Disappointed and unsatisfied. I am a disabled veteran and was told the company loves veterans. Apparently they just love the money. The gutter guards installed are ineffective and majorly clogged. Customer service is a joke. It took 2 weeks before they replied to me and it was a screen shot from their suppliers website. Second reply from Schoenherr was a text saying things would decompose and blow away. Third contact Matt kindly came out and cleaned the gutters then told me I was out of luck. It means I will have to go on the roof (2 stories) several times a year. I emailed the owner several weeks ago and no response. I am a senior disabled veteran and did not pay big bucks to have this issue. There are many other roofing companies to try before this one.

This is a great company! They let me know what they were doing every step of the way and even finished the job in a day! They made sure that nothing was trampled on the outside and did a great clean up when the job was done. They even took pictures before, during and after and showed them too me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a new roof.

Schoenherr Roofing did an excellent job of repairing leaks caused by a poorly done roofing and siding installation by another company. Caleb, Dustin and Jake were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. It was a good experience, start to finish. They will be my first call if I ever have any more roofing or siding concerns.

Follow-up after service: What an exceptional service experience! Dustin was scheduled to come out and arrived at our house on time. He let me know he would be a couple of minutes late, as he was stopping by Home Depot to pick up something for the job. He came in, was friendly and kind, covered his shoes, went straight to work, showed me completed work pictures, and cleaned up after himself when leaving. We had Caleb Nightingale come out to look at our roof after a job completed a couple of years ago by another company was concerning us. When Caleb was here, he made us feel like we were his most critical customers all day. We had many questions, and he was knowledgeable and thorough in his responses. He thoroughly inspected our roof, attic, and insulation and ensured all bathroom fan venting was done correctly. After his inspection, he took the time to show us pictures of some areas concerning us and was honest in his opinion. We will use Schoenherr Roofing to conduct these repairs; the exceptional initial service was unlike any other appointment with a home improvement company. We had an excellent experience with Schoenherr Roofing. We called them by referral of 2 other happy customers of our acquaintance. We have a historical home with the original shingles over shaker on a hip roof with a flat top that leaked. Our salesman, Tim, was seasoned in all his knowledge and recommendations and gave us great confidence over our daunting situation. The work crew was fast and efficient. Our project manager, Sam, jumped in and made sure all fans, vents etc. were operating accurately. The day after completion 2 commercial flat roofers came in to inspect and tweak the flat roof. VERY impressed. Lastly, a quality control person stopped by and inspected the finish product. Our grounds were well tended to and we didn't loose any plantings. All of that for an incredibly fair price. Yes. Use this company.

There are many aspects to getting a new roof installed.
-a dumpster, materials delivery, installation, cleanup, resolving any post installation issues in a timely manner, pickup of left over materials.
Shingles delivery was exceptional. The boom truck driver was an expert in controlling the boom and he moved each shingles bundle to stacks on the top of the roof by hand. Almost no vibration to the house.
My roof was installed in one 12-hour day by a team of 8-9 workers. They worked very hard from start to finish.
Property protection and cleanup: Sheets of plywood were placed over the windows and tarps were placed all-round the house to catch debris from removing the old roof shingles. Cleanup of the grounds around the house was exceptional. No trace of roofing debris afterwards.
Schoenherr Roofing provided excellent communications, sales, project management, and post installation quality assurance.
Dumpster delivery and removal were prompt.
Yes, I would contract with Schoenherr Roofing again.

Recently had wooden siding replaced with new vinyl and all new gutters. The team completed the project within the expected time frame, no surprise change orders, and it looks fantastic. Would return as a customer.

Tech was early, did a great job and took all pictures need for O-C warranty claim and fixed damage rapidly. Would recommend.

Schoenherr Roofing did an excellent job from start to finish. Starting with Josh the salesman who was very thorough explaining the condition of the old roof and what was needed for the new one. Leading up to the installation Chad and his team communicated the next steps. Day of installation he was texting photos of the progress.

We had our siding replaced and could not be happier. We had old wood siding and they came promptly and gave us a very fair estimate compared to some other companies. Once they came out they were swift and got the project done in about 4 days. Our house looks great and we couldn’t be happier with the job they did! Some before and after pics for proof!

I called Schoenherr Roofing for a quote and was asked to send an email with photos of my roof damage. I sent the information and I was told I would get contacted by the "repair team". I never received any reply or call back to schedule an inspection. I followed up twice with two different people and I have yet to receive any response. The job is completed now through another contractor. This is the second local roofing company that ghosted me on this quote.

Schoenherr Roofing has to be the most professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable company around. We did our research ahead of time after hail damage to our roof. They gave a very detailed written estimate, and walked us through it. We had never filed an insurance claim before and had a lot of questions. The Schoenherr crew sat with us and explained the entire process in detail, made it easy to understand. Upon hire, they worked with our insurance company and also took care of the required permits ahead of time, which we appreciated. The communication was excellent throughout the process, especially as we had rain on our first scheduled day. I also had a few special requests, which they took seriously and made sure to address.

In the end, the job was done safely and efficiently, and faster than I would have expected. The crew was careful not to damage anything around the house during tear out. They also took extra care after the job to remove any nails or waste from around the house. We definitely recommend Schoenherr Roofing, they were fantastic all around!

I had interior water damage due to a tricky exterior valley and wall intersection. Schoenherr Roofing sent a couple of professional gentlemen out to properly diagnose the problem and repair it using 3 layers of protection. They took their time to find all the issues and were very clever in the way they designed and made the repair right on site. I would highly recommend these gentlemen for their abilities.

Outstanding installment and outstanding customer service! Everyone from the company including the sales representative, the customer support personnel checking progress throughout the job, and the installers were professional, courteous, efficient, and always available to answer any ongoing questions or concerns. The post-project inspector even went so far as to provide extra help with a siding problem even though it was not strictly a roofing issue. The onsite project manager and the next day follow-up inspector were professional and thorough. Lastly, the roof looks beautiful! Enthusiastically recommend this company and its products!

They’ve been absolutely amazing through the whole process! Very open with communication, updates through the install of the roof, absolutely wonderful to work with. Nate came out for our quote and he was so thorough for the inspection to quote us, going in the attic, taking plenty of photos inside and out, and was extremely thorough and responsive when we had questions after he left. Greg was our PM and Mario the foreman, they were amazing as well! Greg kept us updated with pictures and any necessary information about the install as it was happening. They finished the roof in one day even though it was a huge task. Just referred my parents to them and will refer anyone else who needs a roof to Schoenherr!

Schoenherr Roofing did everything that they said they were going to do and more. Great communications throughout the entire process and I was never wanting for information or status. Workmanship was 1st rate, yard and driveway were cleaned up and I have yet to fine a nail laying around. Really appreciate the post installation inspection Chad did to make everything was done to my satisfaction - and it was. You will not find a better roofing contractor. Price was very fair and Nick did a great job of making sure we had the roof we wanted and needed during the bid process. Very Happy with everything.

I was referred to Nate Marialke for a roof leak. He assessed the situation and determined that it only needed a minor repair. After getting me in touch with his repair team, he did not just hand me off. We had several heavy snows where they were unable to get a quick understanding of the roof, but Nate himself continued to follow up with me throughout the process to make sure I expediently Received the consultation I needed. The moment they could get a good assessment of the roof. They were out here that week and Repair team was very helpful and knowledgeable and even said “we won’t leave until I’m confident you won’t have an issue again.“ I’m so grateful for Nate following up on something that wasn’t even his department and for Justin and Caleb giving me such confidence and going above and beyond to assess and repair the roof.

Not recommended for homeowners or new employees. The company's current leadership fails to uphold its core values with its staff and roofing specialists. They're focused on their assets and their revenue. They don't care about their customers, nor their employees. High turnover! Witnessed it for myself. Save your money and find another roofing company.

Five star experience with everyone involved including the sales person, the supervisory office staff and especially the roofers. Crew was very hard working and polite. My house is a chalet and has two very steep peaks so roofers had an additional challenge. They patiently answered my questions. Cleanup was excellent. I highly recommend Schoenherr Roofing.
