S & K Remodeling

We contracted with S&K to build a complete bathroom in our basement that already had a three piece rough in. Everything went great at first but towards the end we found out that the shower door was not included. This is a low step shower where a curtain would not be ideal. We feel that S&K deliberately misled us since we asked for a complete bathroom.

Steve was so kind and responsive! S and k redid my window and the work is fantastic! Steve and Kat kept in touch in regards to the delivery and installation date. When the crew came out to install, they were ALL kind, professional, and did great work!! I would use S and K for any remodeling project!

S&K Remodeling appears to do amazing work, just look at the dazzling pictures! I was never lucky enough to be selected to spend my money with them, but was able to meet with the very dependable owner for an estimate. He didn’t show up for our first appointment, but during the second appointment, he agreed to take on our project and get an estimate to us in a few weeks. After a month and a half of emailing and promises of estimates, he urged us to move on because he has more work than he can keep up with in these times of high demand. 30 projects in queue and running behind on a few of them. Whoa! Since, he is still heavily advertising for *free* estimates on Facebook, you might be able to audition for a chance to spend some of your own money with S&K. Clear your calendar and best of luck.

S&K was the installer for a custom door we order through Lowes. The install seemed fine until after the installers left and we realized that they did not re-install our hard wired doorbell. They put the aluminum caps over the wiring and left the button on the ground outside. After multiple attempts to have them come fix the problem and many months, all they offered was to pay for a $10 wireless system instead of pulling the aluminum capping and fixing it properly. Completely failed to send someone with toe tools and 15 minutes to fix the problem. Super mad and very disappointed. Do NOT recommend using.

Could not be happier with my new windows installed by S&K Remodeling. My house looks brand new.

The price beat any other quote I received by hundreds of dollars, and they were able to do the work several weeks earlier than any other company. Most of the other companies would not have been able to start working until 6-10 weeks, S&K began working in two.

They were professional during the entire process and gave courtesy calls with accurate times of arrival. They were respectful in cleaning up any mess from their work inside and outside of the house. The workers worked diligently and were done in a few hours.

I highly recommend this company to anyone with home remodeling needs.

I had S&K come out and install a storm door contracted by Lowes. They were very professional and their work was clean. Unfortunately a part of the storm door broke and they had told me to contact them about getting it replaced. The next day, a representative for the company came out and verified that the door is broken and needed will be replaced. After giving it 2 weeks time due to COVID and things taking a little bit longer, I called S&K and left a voicemail. I didn't receive/hear anything back.. I went through Lowes and they had said to contact the installer. I decided to give it another two weeks and called the S&K again leave another voicemail and still no response. I checked with Lowes again and they had said they'd call and send an email, however still no update or response. Now I am at the 2 month mark with still with a broken storm door with no response.

S&K installed an entry door for us, contracted by Lowe’s.

We were impressed with the quality of work, but they threw away our storm door, which we had paid to have reinstalled, per the contract.

It’s been weeks of lack of communication and confusion on their part about what’s going on.

We were scheduled to have it fixed one day, they brought the wrong size door. Then they called another day at 2pm asking if they could install it, but we were both at work. Then they called back and said they would do it “in the afternoon” the next day, and they’d call 30 minutes before arrival. I stayed at home all day awaiting them and never heard anything. My fiancé and I both called and no one picked up. They never showed up and we never heard anything from them.

It’s a shame this experience has turned me away from this company because we have several remodeling projects we’d like to do.

Had them install Windows via Lowe's. EXCELLENT JOB.

The Lowe's-related aspects of the project were disorganized and at one point they didn't even know how to take our payment for the project. That was shocking for Lowe's. The windows specialist at Lowe's was great. He certainly knew his stuff and was honest. But everyone else, including management, hadn't a clue how to take payment for the project! (This Lowe's is in Sootsylvania VA).

But S&K more than made up for the shortcomings of Lowe's. They were quick and thorough.

They took time to caulk the windows neatly and cleaned up as they went. They did our townhouse of 6 standard windows in 3 hours using a 4-man crew. The external trim job was particularly well done and makes the new windows look even nicer.

They walked around the building outside instead of walking through the house when they did the back windows as much as possible. That was a pleasant surprise especially as we are not an end-unit townhome.

I knew we were in good hands when we heard who was going to install the windows as these guys have a great reputation and they certainly lived up to it this time.

S and K just installed my patio door and did a fantastic job with installation trim etc. They also replaced my porcelain kitchen sink. Everything was done very well and are great improvements! They will be back to install new bathroom lights . I would highly recommend them!

S&K Remodeling finished my basement, including bathroom and kitchenette. They gave me design ideas including built ins. They are affordable and easy to work with.

S&K Remodeling is our go-to business for home repairs and updates. The owner, Stephen Bowen is honest and trustworthy, always providing high quality work at a fair cost. In our 1850 era home, S&K replaced all the windows and exterior doors, recovered our barn with Ondura panels, built a utility room in the barn, put new siding and wrap on our house and guest house, and many other smaller projects. Steve and all the S&K employees are friendly and professional. S&K is now the first and only business we call for work on our home. We highly recommend S&K Remodeling to everyone needing work on their home; large or small projects.

S&K has remodeled two of our bathrooms. We were very pleased with their workmanship; they did a good job of coordinating with various installers (tile, granite, etc); and their price was reasonable. They have also quickly helped us with emergency repairs (such as blown-off siding).

S&K did an excellent job installing new windows for us. We had called several companies for estimates. The other two companies were definitely throwing a sales pitch. Starting low and adding items. S&K were honest and upfront with the cost and installation. They worked within our budget and completed the work efficiently. The crew that installed the windows were friendly and diligent. I would definitely recommend S&K services to others.

This is our second project with S&K Remodeling. Both projects involved our porch: its addition to the house in '06 and its recent update. We are pleased with their professional and timely service in helping us to realize our vision. Many thanks to all.

Had a new front door with sidelights and transom. They were incredibly talented and did an incredible job. They did an incredible job and I will hire them in the future for more work. Extremely professional!! Perfect experience!!
