Summit ES completed repair work for my home involving pipe penetration and water leaking into our den. The water line from our well was not sealed properly during home construction several years ago. Summit crews came out and dug 8 feet down on exterior, sealing the outside wall. They also sealed the area of the pipe inside. Their crew worked extremely hard, the job was done professionally and completed in one full day. Joe was the inspector who provided the original estimate and was very knowledgable and honest. I had another estimate provided from another nearby company that was actually a little less, however I stayed with Summit due to their thoroughness and details provided on the work they were going to complete. You get what you pay for and I wanted the job done right considering the seriousness of it. I highly recommend Summit. Very professional and well skilled worked crews and staff. Good people and good company.

Attic Insulation: The guys showed up on time and were very polite and professional, took their shoes off etc to do a preliminary walk through. Laid out a tarp to walk on! They even taped off a room so no dust would get in that room as they worked!! The one tech noticed a flex pipe (bathroom fan vent) wasn’t the right size, he had me go get the proper size and he would just put it on for me so that everything was correct. We have worked with Summit twice within a year. First work was for a raccoon in the attic but unfortunately we werent able to catch it as the raccoon didnt show up ever again. We had a few companies tell us that our house had the worst attic insulation they’ve ever seen. Summit did more work than other companies offered, for cheaper! They got the whole project done in less than a full days work, and did an amazing job. Highly highly recommend.

Joe Westner and the crew at Summit do great work. They exceeded our expectations with a crawl space encapsulation and other related projects (burying a downspout, insulation). As a new homeowner, I had many questions, and Joe was always very responsive over email and text. Once the contract was signed, the crew was out within a week to do the job. We will be using Summit for any future projects and recommending them to friends.

We built our house 40 years ago. Last summer, 2023, we brought in Summit to replace the attic insulation. They did an outstanding job. Our cost was thousands of dollars less than the nearest bitter. The value of their work has been proved this summer with the intense heat that we’ve been dealing with. Our second floor would used to be warm to say the least is very comfortable. I cannot speak more highly than I do of this company.

Curtis was able to check both the interior and exterior of my home for signs of squirrels, and trapped several on the exterior for the duration of my contracted time, so hopefully they don't get back in any time soon! Back in February 2023 I contacted Summit Environmental Solutions to assess my attic insulation and provide me with an estimate of services needed. Alexander Clark was the expert sent out to conduct the assessment. Alexander was punctual, super professional, knowledgeable, and kind!

Alexander went into my attic and checked the outside of my house, including walking the roof.
He provided me with his assessment on the spot, and gave me a no-fluff review of my options. My ceilings are vaulted, and there isn’t much space between the ceiling and the roof where an average sized human could fit (of course the critters that made my insulation their home had nooo issue fitting in the space), so my options were looking pricey.

After his visit, Alexander went above and beyond for me by conducting some research of his own to make sure he provided me with all the options I could explore to solve my insulation (and old pest debris) issue.
I really appreciate all Alexander did for me those couple days - even my mom raved about him.

While I didn’t get the services done during the time period immediately following Alexander’s assessment, I fully intend to do so with Summit Environmental Solutions (as long as Alexander Clark still works there ).

I had the pleasure of meeting Rudis today he was able to fix our calcified /clogged sink in our 114 year old house through an access pipe on the roof! As well as unclog our vents I am really pleased with His professionalism and work ethic!

Wonderful experience with Jason and Carlos. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation claiming roof damage was present and costly repairs indicated, but did not, were very honest with me and explained my problem was actually not with my roof at all but with a water pipe in my attic.

William came out promptly, found the source of the smell incredibly fast, and removed the offending critter. William was very communicative throughout the process and made sure that we were informed of what actions he had to take and why. I called Summit environmental solutions to my house because we occasionally see snakes in the yard. Our technician William arrived and did a phenomenal inspection. He I nformed me on some tips on helping keeping the snake population to a minimum as well as some precautionary measures. Overall a great experience and highly recommend.

Great service for bird removal! William is knowledgeable in the subject. Let me know how the birds enter the vent along with them not getting into the other vents. Bird nest was completely removed and area sprayed for any pest that the bird bought in. Finally the vent was sealed with a bird guard over it. Other vents were inspected to make sure no other bird nest was in them. Would recommend Willaim and SES for bird removal and any future problems.

Summit Environmental Solutions (SES) went above and beyond to remove a lead window from our home and follow all necessary precautions to keep my family safe. They are one of the few companies in Northern Virginia that are EPA-certified to handle lead removal and have the technical expertise to replace or remediate any area affected in your home. In August 2023, my wife and I discovered our son had traceable amounts of lead. As a military family, we heard horror stories about old military homes, but we never suspected this would happen to us in a home we recently bought. Luckily, the traceable lead was minimal, and we quickly identified the source -- an old bow window original to our 1960s home. I went on the EPA site and looked at every page until I found SES on the last page. Every other company said they were not in the lead removal/remediation business, especially a bow window as big as ours. But then I got a hold of Joe Westner at SES, and he immediately assured me that SES could easily take care of this. My next question was, of course, price. They had several options for payment plans or a 6-month 0% interest loan. The most important thing Joe said to me was you can't put a price on peace of mind for your family’s safety. The custom bow window we ordered was expensive, but it was doable. Now we have a beautiful window that is LEAD-FREE! My toddler loves playing on it with all his toys and looking out the window as the cars pass by. It was an answer to my family's prayers that we found Joe and SES. We even added an insulation package to improve our home's R-value, which Joe could discount due to the big window removal and replacement job. The SES workers were consummate professionals and highly skilled at their jobs. SES had a master carpenter tradesman supervising our window removal and replacement with a phenomenal team. SES has earned my loyalty for applicable home improvements. Because of their exceptional work at my home, I'm considering hiring them to fix the drainage around my home to protect my basement. If your home has issues with lead, insulation, water, animals, or pests, choose SES. You'll be glad you did.

Summit was great. They showed up twice on short notice — same day on one occasion. The service tech, William, was professional and thorough. He explained what was going on and my options. He ended up finding where squirrels were getting in my attic and closing up the opening. He also sanitized where one of them died. We’ve had no trouble since. Would recommend them!

OMGOSH! So glad we called and scheduled an appointment. Our basement sprung a leak and we called around to find someone to fix it. We got quotes for $14,000.00+ and none of the people that came out to look...actually looked at where the problem was. One guy was looking on the opposite side of the house where there was no basement (go figure). Summit came out...listened...and looked (actually looked) at the problem area and gave us a quote that was a fraction of the cost of all the others. Truthfully, I was a little nervous because the cost was soooooo reasonable. But my fears were soon put to rest. The guys that did the work were A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Two managers actually came to the job site to make sure the work was being done correctly. I would recommend this company to anyone in a heartbeat. Thank you Summit, you've restored my faith that good and honest businesses still exist!

Summit did unauthorized work, removing bat houses that my son and I had made together. They threw away the bat houses even though I had requested they not be touched. Summit admitted their mistake and offered to discount their services by 1/3rd the price of new comparable bat houses. At a minimum they should have offered to replace like with like. I gave them several chances to make this right but, even though they took responsibility for the mistake, they are unwilling to fix the issue.

So glad we found Summit to help take care of our groundhog problem! We discovered a burrow under our porch. William came out quickly to assess the situation. Gave us a solid plan and in less than a week the work was scheduled and completed. See photos including screen (cemented into ground), lattice over top and one way door which will be removed in a week. William was great through the whole process. Walked us through the steps, options and recommendations. Was responsive to texts throughout the project. Knew what he was talking about — he’s worked with a lot of groundhog issues (and other critters)! The crew that came out to do the work was fast and professional. Left everything clean and work was excellent. Thanks Summit!!

I waited a year to write this review to see if replacing the attic insulation would make a difference during the hot months - and yes it definitely does. My monthly electric bill went down about $50 and the temp in my top level is noticeably cooler. they did a great job too!

I called Summit Environmental Solutions on the weekend because I noticed that we had soffit damage. They responded on Monday and Alex came out on Tuesday to assess. On Wednesday, we got a contract for a fair and reasonable price. On Friday, the work was completed. Alex was thorough and gave clear explanations of what needed to be done. Alex’s manner was very professional and friendly. I will call Summit Environmental Solutions if I have any further roof-related issues.

Today, Summit completed a discharge line extension for us, which also tied in our downspouts on the front porch and side of the house, into one convenient drain. No more swamp on the side of our home where the sump pump used to empty! The process from start to finish was seamless, and Joe explained everything in great detail right from the get-go. The crew that did the work was also extremely professional, despite the miserable heat, and also called first thing this morning to let us know they had a spot open up unexpectedly (our work was not scheduled to begin until 9/18/23). We will definitely use Summit again in the future if the situation calls for it!

TERRIBLE experience with summit environmental solutions. We found 2 snake skins in our basement and asked for someone to inspect for snakes. The guy barely inspected the basement and we had to ask him twice to inspect the exterior, garage, etc for entry points. He was very short in his inspection a claimed he didn’t find entry points however we have had snakes come since then. He tried to get us to sign up for monthly snake pest control services and was extremely pushy, got mad and frustrated when I said I needed to think it over and talk with my husband and basically said we will keep having snakes and fear for my life if we didn’t use his services. It was clearly a commission/sales pitch and not actually trying to help the situation. At the end of him finding nothing he made us pay a hefty fee, almost $300 for doing nothing. He would only waive it IF we signed up for monthly snake services for the rest of the year (note: there are companies that do free inspections/quotes so this is a huge rip off). His name was Chris Bradley and he was extremely rude, pushy, and unprofessional. He even left the snake skins and didn’t remove them.

Kris was awesome. Provided all the information that would be done to get rid of the yellow jackets on the side of my home.

Hope " the Bee Whisper" came out for what we thought was one and discovered 2 more. Way to go! Great job! Now I could sit outside again.

Even when they aren't on a service call their employee helped the wildlife. This morning truck 235 assisted several large flocks of geese with fledglings cross two very busy streets safely. I appreciate your employee immensely for taking a few minutes out of his morning!

Summit Environmental Solutions (SES) was quick to respond to my home's multiple bird infestation. The technician, Hope, was able to come onsite the very next day to conduct a survey and provided a solution as well as a reasonable estimate. She was very knowledgeable and reassuring about the matter. The SES team (Kristi and Hope) was extremely efficient in emailing me the contract, payment options, and providing the necessary documents needed for HOA approval. Within 48 hours, the technician, Robi, cleared out the birds/nesting, sanitized the affected vents, and installed the bird guards/netting. I didn't have to take off from work as he did it completely outside; the job was efficiently completed with no trace of the birds or the cleanup. I would definitely recommend SES to my family and friends to handle urgent issues that pose a safety and health concern to their homes. Thank you!

Summit leveled my concrete side walk and also repaired a large crack where my sidewalk and front stoop came together. I was very impressed with the technology summit deployed, they were able to use a spray foam to raise/level my sidewalk about 4”! I could not be happier with the results, I highly recommend summit!!

Great job! They left no debris, they took great care to sweep 3 times around perimeter of our property for nails and took great care to remove shingles without old nails flying off roof like other roofers. Friendly and courteous.

I called this company to discuss preventative measures for snakes. Instead Tom Yendall insisted on not setting up snake traps because it would simply attract more snakes to my property. He looked up and suggested I put a cage on top of my roof to prevent other animals from entering my attic.

I found a snake at my property 3 weeks ago and had to call another company to remove. I wish more preventive action was taken here instead of instilling fear leaving me waiting for a snake to arrive as it did.

We have been customers of SES for over 20 years. They have been reliable and have solved many issues during that time. One example seven years ago was a nest of chimney swifts in our chimney. Chris, the owner, came out and assessed the problem within a day. He explained the remediation which had to follow a “protected species” ordinance. He covered and secured the hearth opening with a plexiglass sheet for sanitary reasons. After two weeks, when the chicks hatched, he then removed the debris, cleaned and sanitized the area, and then capped the chimney. We were very pleased with the process and result.
We have a monthly general pest inspection with Brian from SES. He is very professional, thorough and personal. He is able to answer questions about any concerns that we may have as the seasons change and different issues occur.
This is a great company.

The most ineffective communication, problem-solving, and management I have seen in a business so far. As a customer I have to constantly follow up on services, passive-aggressive staffs, and confusing contract. However, their billing department is always on time about sending invoices before services are provided. I have had to spent hours of my valuable time on petty things resulted by their poor management and technical issues. I cannot wait to be done with them. I use other pest control services for my other properties and I have never had to bear such nonsense with any of them.

I used Summit to remove a squirrel from my attic and seal up the openings. They were a bit pricey, and I had a problem where the work completed didn't match what I thought I had heard from the estimator. I worked with Donna in the main office, and she was great. She sent the crew back out and she ensured the job was completed to my satisfaction.

I called Summit after seeing a fox hanging around under my deck. I was concerned that it might have built a den. The day after I called, Tom came over and did a thorough search of the back yard. Fortunately there was no evidence of any den - Tom explained that it was probably drawn to the area because of a mouse bait station that our contract pest control company had placed. Tom was polite, professional and very informative. This is the second time I have called Summit for wildlife removal. The first was to get rid of bats that had taken up residence in my attic. I cannot recommend them highly enough and will definitely use them again in the future should the need arise.

We just used this service provider to remove a bird which had made it's way through the dryer vent into the flexible duct at the back of the dryer. Tom, our service technician, was excellent! He called in advance, took care of the bird, which flew away happily, and reconnected everything when finished. All on the same day we called as well!

I had a great experience with Summit. From initial interaction with Tina, who was super helpful and friendly on the phone, to Tom coming and thoroughly investigating the issue, I couldn't be happier. I had concerns about an animal in my chimney. Tom did a thorough assessment - inside and out - and determined there was no issue. I wasn't charged for them to come out for the "estimate" and it certainly felt pressure free from the beginning, even if Tom would have found something that needed removal/fixing. This is a family-owned company and they are friendly and honest!

My wife and I had some concerns about cracks in our exterior and water getting into our foundation. Joe came to take a look and talk through what he found. Thankfully, we didn’t have any actual issues. We should keep an eye on things over the next couple of years, but right now everything is fine. Joe spent ample time explaining what was going on. I had this company bring out a technician, Kris is his name, I was blown away at this ability to assess the perimeter of my home and the knowledge he had about the pests and other critters that like to be "additions" to your home.

Kris was very straight forward, professional and a good negotiator* by that I mean he is aware that customers are shopping around for the best price, quality work and craftsmanship, so his ability to make additional services available for lower prices or competitive prices is a plus.

I received extremely excellent service from Mr. Ernie McGhee who removed a baby male sparrow who found its way into my small heater furnace and air conditioning room and then got stuck face and body down on three of my stickey trays that I had previously put on the floor. The dear bird was barely alive and Ernie took it outside and used my corn oil to extremely gently remove the little bird from the stickey trays. Then he held the weak dehydrated bird and lifted him over my birdbath to let him drink plenty of water. Ernie saved this bird's life! Then he placed the bird under my bushes. After just a few minutes we discovered the bird must have moved himself since we could not see him anymore. We think that he was still too young to fly away. The old hymn of the Church is called His Eye Is On The Sparrow and says "Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart feel lonely, And long for heaven and home. When Jesus is my portion, A constant friend is He, His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches over me, His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me. I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me, I know He watches me!"
Hallelujah! Then Ernie expertly located two birds nests and small entry holes on my rooftop and took photos showing their debris. Workers from Summit came to pull out the bird nests and filled the holes leading into my home and rooftop area with very thin sheet metal and added a screen. Thank you so very much, Ernie! VR, Susan

The mosquitoes in my backyard have been unbearable the last few summers. My husband and I called Summit to come out and do a mosquito treatment. Brian has been so kind, caring, and attentive! Even through re-scheduling appointments due to inclement weather, Brian and the rest of the team at Summit have been on top of it and professional. It’s been so wonderful to be able use my back deck again without having to coat myself in bug spray and light a million citronella candles. We have a bunch of friends coming over for the 4th of July and I don’t have to be embarrassed or worry about them getting chewed up by mosquitoes! Thank you, Summit!! I will certainly continue to recommend Summit’s services to any and everyone that I can!

I called them over for a mice problem we were having. They never showed up for the quarterly inspections. The first time they came, they performed a very rudimentary inspection and quite honestly their overpriced solution is nothing more than what you can do yourself with a couple of traps from home depot for a grand total of $10. Very non-responsive. They were graceful enough to waive the cancellation fee though since they realized that they had missed all their quarterly inspections. That's the only reason I'm giving them one star.

Ernie did a great great job removing the birds nest from our dryer vent! Ernie came out gave us an estimate and returned the very next day to remove the nest, disinfect the vent and placed a wire screen on the vent to prevent this. Other companies we called weren't available for another week or had insanely high prices and no disinfection service, which is very important for removing parasites etc. Ernie is honest and fair and gave us a reasonable price and warranty too. We will definitely call him for any future needs as well as refer him to our friends and family.

we had squirrels in the attic, the sales person told us they would disinfect the area after squirrels are removed but didn't write it in the contract. have called them at least 5 times to come and disinfect and no one responds to me.... I paid over other estimates because I like the fact that they were veterans working for this company, I would think twice before hiring them.

They did a fantastic job fixing my roof and left no mess. Their customer service was excellent. Their email and phone responses were very fast. I was very pleased with their overall service!

Service Needed: Getting rid of rats under front steps. Unfortunately, while the objective was accomplished, the workmen damaged a flagstone leading to the steps. They promised to replace the damaged flagstone or refund my cost to replace it. The company obtained a flagstone replacement, but it did not match the color of my other flagstones. I obtained a flagstone replacement but the company reimbursed only 62 per cent of my costs for the replacement.

I feel like I was robbed. I requested a trapping program because I saw a raccoon go in and out of my attic. I understand to contract states "number of catches or guarantee of catch is not included in this program"... But I feel like I paid $700 to have a trap sit in front of my house for 5 days. No one went into the attic to check, or even onto the roof to inspect.

We started noticing some mold forming in the corner of our shower so we called Summit to investigate, mostly to make sure it wasn’t coming from the attic or somewhere else. Joe came out and took a look, he assured us it was only in that one spot and the best way to handle it was to replace the fan with a unit that would move more air. Joe was great at explaining the process from how they would neutralize the mold to the installation of the bigger fan with a timer that would allow the fan to run longer after the shower was done being used, making sure as much water as possible in the air was removed. Rodney came out and did the work, which required cutting the ceiling to work because there is no access from the roof because of the design of the house. Rodney did a great job with installation, drywall and paint, you can’t even tell anything was done, he also did a great job protecting the shower itself as well as the floors where he had to work. Great job overall, very pleased.

An amazing team of caring individuals that go far and beyond anything that should be expected. They helped my neighbor that had fallen off his ladder get into his house. His wife took him to the hospital while I stayed with his mother until her daughter got there. This left the team alone in home to completed their job. Summit is wonderful. I have referred a couple of people after my work was completed and they are happy too. Summit came out immediately and quickly made a statement of what needed to be done to eliminate my North American Flying Squirrels in my attic. The work included some remedial roof work to assure the squirrels would not come back. Summit did their work quickly and completely. I always know when and who will be appearing at my house. The people who were sent were not only well versed in what needed to be done, they were personable and happy.

When I called the office, everyone I spoke to was gracious and friendly. No fighting to get things right. No problems with understanding. It was all in all a wonderful experience.
