We got a couple of free estimates for our old delapitated leaky roof on our 1952 house, and decided to go with Ruiz Roofing because of their excellent reviews, very competitive pricing, and the owner has a extensive career as an ACTUAL ROOFER! Not just a salesman, which we found with the other overpriced companies.
Omar came to look at the roof and attic and described what did/didn't have to be done and how, explained airflow, soffits, venting, moisture, rot, basically answered my 101 questions very thoroughly and patiently. Also provided an itemized quote. He directed me to seek a mold specialist first, so I could coordinate their recommendation with Omar, if more of the cedar planks had to be replaced due to the mold issue (we had mold in our attic as well on the cedar planks, yikes!). I appreciate his guidance since I'm a novice at most home repairs/maintenance.
I was pleased with the friendly communication and updates via calls/texts/pictures throughout the whole project. They tore down, replaced rotting boards, took out and capped unused chimney, found 2 cracked trusses which they repaired, installed more vents and replaced old ones with correct types, resheeted with plywood, papered with something I believe was waterproof (thick spongey texture), shingled, and installed metal drip edges. He and his crew did an exemplary job and was impressive to watch the speed and efficiency they worked, without sacrificing quality. They moved as one unit. Started at 8:30 and worked all the way til 7pm, cleaning up the next morning. They left the surrounding area cleaner then we had it (debris from my husband working on the facia boards, gutters, eves, and paint). My father-in-law accross the street was even impressed on what a good job they did, himself being in the construction industry in his youth. My husband and I are VERY happy with Ruiz Roofing and will use them again to do the flat parts of our roof and carport next. I have already recommended to a couple coworkers and would highly recommend to anyone!

After a wind storm with some damage to an older roof I had Omar give me quote for a repair and a replacement. Given the very reasonable quote I decided to have it replaced. The work was scheduled and started on the day arranged. They did outstanding work and finish to include gutter replacement I also had done due to having extra money left over from the roof replacement. Highly recommend them.

Omar was by far the most detail-oriented and thorough of all of the roofers we contacted for some repair work on our home. He and his team were even able to move our repair work schedule up to get it done faster. He found problems with the workmanship (subpar materials and installation) left from other contractors, and offered to fix them when doing other work for us. We were in need of a highly-skilled roofing company to remove the 30-year-old concrete roof tiles from our three-story home and install Owens Corning architectural shingles and new gutters. One call to Omar, the owner of Ruiz Roofing, set the project in motion. Omar came to our home right away, carefully examined the existing roof, talked with us about our needs and budget, and went over several options with us. There was absolutely NO sales pressure or upselling at all! (Omar is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Working with him is more like interacting with a trusted friend or family member than a paid contractor. He truly had our best interest at heart.) Ruiz Roofing submitted a very reasonable estimate, and we did not hesitate to have them replace our roof and gutters. Ruiz Roofing's team of skilled roofing professionals arrived on time each day and worked hard to complete the job to our complete satisfaction. I think it is important to note that Ruiz Roofing employs their own crews to do the work; they do not have you sign a contract and then subcontract the work to someone else. It was especially reassuring to know that a foreman was always on site and that the owner, Omar, spent time at the job site ensuring that all work was completed as promised. That was a first in my experience with other roofing contractors! The finished job is absolutely beautiful, and I'm happy to say that after a few days of heavy rain there are absolutely no leaks in the roof or gutter system. By far the best value out of the 8 bids I got. Omar was super easy to deal with. I was very happy with the work he did on my house. They used the best shingles that I found. Everything went so smoothly I hired him again to replace the roof for my second house without any other bids. Omar from Ruiz Roofing is One of the most hard-working honest people I have met since we moved to Lake Stevens five months ago. He took the extra time to explain things to us from estimate to installation. Helped us rectify an incorrectly installed roof left by the previous homeowner and did not mislead us or take advantage in any shape or form where others did in their estimations. Because of our concerns he went above and beyond and even went into the attic to investigate the other portion of the roof to be sure nothing was missed rotted or moldy. He was happy to take pictures and document any problem areas so that he could show us exactly what he was referring to. I had Omar and his team tear off and install a new roof for my house in November. In short, they did a fantastic job.

One of the many qualities I liked about Ruiz roofing is that Omar, the owner, is up on the roof with his team, not only working, but coming up with solutions that would benefit the house from having leaks 30 years down the road.

Omar was very upfront about costs, whether they needed to replace a few sheets of wood, or more. Everything, pretty much down the penny, was accounted for and at the end of the day, there wasn't any "mystery" charges or embellishments. Top marks for that.

Most of all, besides the great work ethic, I really appreciated his "take" on how to improve various problem areas with my roof that hadn't been addressed before. He incorporated a mix of shingle and TPO products where the roof was either low slope and where runoff would "pool" up prior before putting on a new roof.

I had other bids besides Ruiz, and while I thought they were all professional, none of them offered their insight, like Omar did, on improving the performance/design of the roof.

The True's

We requested quotes from 4 different roofing companies but only 3 responded. Of the three Ruiz's was the lowest-priced. We needed repairs to some of the gable overhangs which were sagging and the roof covering itself was replaced. I'm sometimes dubious of the lowest priced response, but Omar was most helpful, and seemed to understand the most what we needed. Actually one of the estimates was about double the Ruiz estimate. The work was started a couple days earlier than originally planned and completed in a few days. Each day Omar's crew cleaned up and left everything safe in case of rain (which happened once). The end result was a beautiful new roof with no more sagging parts. Thanks Omar!

Omar was very responsive and came out to provide a quote for our roof after it was discovered it had aged to the point of needing to be replaced. His quote was very reasonable compared to competitors. He also helped us in discussing some options for roof ventilation after I found out our attic was not properly ventilated. Omar came with a lot of knowledge and expertise. The reroofing was scheduled about one month out for early September.

The start day the delayed 2-3 days due to another project that was behind schedule (which wasn't an issue for us). The delay was well communicated to us so there weren't any huge surprises. The roof was completed quickly once they started and his crew was very polite and professional. A huge mess was made in the process (which was expected) and they completely cleaned up afterwards each day they were here.

The job was finished faster than I expected and faster than another company I've used. Cost had to be increased due to the need for several plywood pieces due to rotted decking. Even with the increased cost for the plywood the overall cost was still very reasonable compared to competitors.

We were VERY happy with Omar and his crew. We highly recommend them and we would gladly hire them again.

Omar Ruiz is the owner and such an honest, professional, good guy. We had a dozen quotes and then the last one was Ruiz Roofing. Omar took the time to answer all of our questions, gave us a quote that was super competitive, made sure that we knew when him and his crew were coming, and just generally went above and beyond my other experiences with roofing contractors.

He used a mid grade roof material for an entry level price. He didn't try to sell us on extras or things that we didn't need, and explained why and why not to do roofing extras. He spent as much time as I wanted to discuss the project and then did a great job on the roof.

We wanted a black roof, and he explained that although they look really nice, they also retain a lot more heat. Just things like that - the honest input that.

They do the roof in sections - just in case it rains. 3 days and done, and we have a big roof because our house is a rambler. Anyways they did a solid job. Roof looks fantastic.

If you are looking to get your roof replaced, just know that material costs are always changing (going up) so a quote might only be good for 30 days (from ANY roofer) as material prices are skyrocketing due to shortages and increased demand. That said, Omar was super transparent about this and did a great job informing us about this. For example, one morning he went to Home Depot and plywood was $65 a sheet. We needed more sheets replaced, and later that SAME DAY it was $85 a sheet! Anyways Omar showed me his receipts. And I gladly paid the sheet replacement rate because my goodness, to be a roofer right now with these costs.. it can't be easy.

Anyways Omar and team are super honest hardworking guys and did a stellar job on our roof. Highly recommend them to anyone!

Highly qualified professionals, with years of experience that truly shines! We were referred to Ruiz Roofing from a general contractor as being one of the best in the business, and that referral was the best we've had the pleasure to utilize and worked into a contact and ultimate hire.

We needed a full tear off roof and replacement, and had some tweaks to the angles of of existing gutters, plus were in need of extra venting for the attic space. We selected a 30 year Owen Corning shingles, and went with a ridge vent (to clean up the roof of vent caps all over the place). New soffit vents around the garage portion of our home cut in as well, due to extreme temperature swings in summer and winter time and allow for better attic venting. Just that venting alone has made the double car garage, much more comfortable, with no large temperature swings anymore as of completion of the work.

Omar (the owner) and his team are some of the hardest workers I've had the pleasure of working with. The quote and bid were right on the nose on what we were willing to spend, money-wise; and their work ethic is hands down; unbeatable! Daily crew of 2-4 (mostly just 2 each day) people, working methodically and most importantly expertly. With a 38 square roof and trim pieces, it took a total of 4 days from full tear off to completion (and that included a 10 X 12 garden shed) with the same roof being applied there as well. The roof was never left exposed to the elements, and they worked in a way that they left off each day at a good completion point, and picked up the next day where left off. They cleaned up each day after work (magnets to pick up loose metals), blow off the roof of materials that were there from that days work and covered up any areas that could be exposed to the elements. They put in 10-12 hour days, each day and worked the whole time (other than an hour lunch time).

I would recommend Ruiz Roofing to anyone. Omar hires only the best and they've learned from him that cutting corners will get you nowhere. And to do the job the right way the first time, EVERY TIME. He truly stands behind his work and with 20+ year in the business, he knows what he's doing and it shows. I've already referred him on to 2 other family members in need of new roofs, and all have been just as impressed with them as we were!

We found a leak over our porch caused by a loose flashing screw, called Ruiz Roofing fairly late at night and they were here the next morning and made the repair, no questions asked. Ruiz Roofing recently totally replaced all my roofing shingles and vents and repaired areas of dry rot as needed. This is a two story house with nine gables and added some gutter covers. He finished off the edging strips better than the original roofing (validated by a contractor who is going to paint my trim).

His crew arrived on time and worked expeditiously in order to complete the job within the quoted time frame. They were skillful, respectful and cleaned up every day after their work.  This job took 3 days and they replaced all moved plants and outside furniture back in their respective places as if they had never been moved.

I was referred to Ruiz company by a good friend that had a very good experience with Omar before using him for his roofing needs. I was in quite a bind and needed roofing on my Carriage House immediately. The timeline was very important, we needed The roof finished in a two day span between rainy days.
Employees were here first thing in the morning with beautiful trucks a large bin and finish my roof in the timeline and had everything hauled out of here and cleaned up-very happy. I would recommend this company highly.

I would diffently recommend Omar and his crew. The crew was there first thing in the morning as promised. They had torn off our roof and replaced the same day. Made sure all debris was cleaned up. Great work and very professional.

Horrible experience. It is odd that I had a completely different experience from the other reviewers. This guy is dishonest. He was punctual and friendly enough when he did his inspection and quote. However, when came the actual day to work, he did not show up and went completely dark. I thought it was strange when he asked me to go buy the materials myself, some of which I had to drive from Everett to Auburn to get. His website and business does not indicate a physical address, and his business does not show up in the BBB. This guy is fishy. Beware.

When it came down to choose a contractor who would do the roof work, I wanted a roofing company whom would make me feel very comfortable and confident that the work on the roof would get done quickly and without any issues. They found a crooked beam, they fixed even though it was not part of their work or requirement for them to do this. They found rooten parts, they fixed it. Ruiz Roofing went above and behond. In terms of craftmanship and quality of work done by Ruiz Roofing, my roof now stands head and shoulders above other roofs in the area.

Their experice working with roofs combined with their excellent work ethic, attention to detail and great customer service puts Ruiz roofing as the best contractor that I have ever hired. Omar Ruiz and his crew of two did a spectacular job replacing the shingles and dry rotted plywood sheets and fascia boards on the roof of our DADU building. He and his crew were very punctual, arriving early for the quote and at or before 7am both days of roofing work. I would recommend Omar to everyone looking for reliable, well done work!
