This team is the first roofing crew I've encountered who genuinely values their customers' time. I'm optimistic that their prompt repair will hold up for the time being. If I ever require a new roof, they'll definitely be my first call. They certainly know their stuff. After a snowfall, the snow melted, we had rainfall, and there were no leaks. Upon investigating a peculiar smell in my basement, I discovered it was hydrogen sulfide gas - the same gas that is emitted from a roof vent pipe. While we did attempt to clear the vent, it might have been too late. In cast iron pipes, the gas can oxidize and turn into sulfuric acid, which could potentially damage or crack the pipe. I found out that baking soda can neutralize sulfuric acid, so I'm considering flushing a bit of it down the pipe occasionally. I'm not entirely certain if it will help, but it certainly won't hurt. So, many thanks to Malachi and Cameron for their excellent work.
