Rod's Auto & Marine Electric

Was traveling from Montana and the windshield wipers stopped working on our Cadillac CTS. Stopped at 5 auto-repair shops along the way and spoke to a dozen more - NONE could even get us in for a couple weeks and NONE offered us a reasonable price for the repair, quoting anywhere from $520 to $816 for the fix. So we bought a new motor on Amazon and was referred to Rod's by some locals in Warrenton. Not only did they work us into their schedule in less than a week's time over the new year, they did not hassle us about having to buy the part from them. They were all super friendly and only charges us for an hour of labor to complete the job. Thank you soooo much for being great humans! I'll never forget it and I'm grateful for Brendan's Auto & Marine Repair(just down the street) for sending us your way.

This is a great automotive shop! The staff are so friendly and service is fast. Brought my car in, and they had the problem diagnosed and parts on the way within the hour. If you choose to wait there, they’ve got a nice bookshelf of reading and some comfy chairs to wait in. Overall a great experience!

We where passing through Warrenton when we noticed that a fluent was leaking from our car so we spontaneously dropped in here. They actually had no time for the next 2 days but still squeezed us in right away. They explained everything to us before doing anything and they even gave us a little discount.
This is definitely the best experience with a mechanic I had so far. Everyone was super nice and I can really recommend going there if you have an issue with your car!

I have been going to Rob‘s automotive and collision for many years now I would not trust anybody else to repair my car. Rob has done a fantastic job for me throughout the years and is very reasonable and fair on his pricing. I just took my newest car to him that had been stolen and, he had it all fixed up in a timely manner at a very good prize and had me back on the road. I would not take my vehicles to anybody else but Rob if you’re looking for a real good mechanic at reasonable prices go to Rob automotive and collision thank you.

They have worked on me, my girlfriend and our friends vehicles for 6 years. They've always been very honest and upfront about everything, and they've never done us wrong. Their whole staff is very friendly, and their mechanics really know what they're doing. If it's something that they can't do, they'll let you know. I definitely recommend them for anybody who's having issues with their rigs

I sent my pickup in for a massive oil leak. I figured it'd be a $500 bill from how bad the leak was. This shop hunted down the cause, found that it was a hidden, cheap fix. It's enough to show me that this place has integrity. I'll send my vehicles here again.

Incredibly awesome shop! Very quick and attentive, friendly and great at communicating. Needed a quick turn around on my truck and they got it working, in and out in less than 24 hours!!! I'll be needing more work done on my rig and will absolutely be taking it back here. Thank you so much, my Tacoma appreciates ya'll!!!!

This was a great experience. I called on Tuesday got an appointment on Friday at 9:00 a.m. they fixed the electrical problem with a simple tightening of the battery and said have a great day. I was out by 9:30. How often does that happen?

Very helpful but not happy with results,tuned up my R V and the spark plugs are miss fireing they are more than willing to fix ,I'm traveling and it's now hours and miles away have no choice but to take to another shop I paid 465$ and a whole day to get it done.again were very nice.

I am from out of town and my car had a misfire on my way back home. I brought it to Rod's Auto and Marine. I was able to cripple the car to them, and although they told me they never worked on a Volvo, but I was in a bind, so told them to please repair it. They called me and said the car had a bad fuel injector. I told them to go ahead with the repair. When I went to pick up the car, they told me their diagnosis was incorrect, BUT still charged me $600! I could not take my car back without paying them. My car was in the same broken condition as when I brought it to them, but I was $600 poorer. I am a senior citizen, and I even sent 2 letters to the owner of the shop asking him to please reimburse me, as it is the right thing to do of course. He ignored my letters. Money takes precedence at this place. Maybe if you need an oil change or a battery replacement, ok. Otherwise stay clear. I finally took the car to another local mechanic and he fixed it with NO PROBLEM for $375! If I could give a "0" review, I would.

The whole experience on a Monday morning was pretty quick. A sensor check, battery check and oil change took about two hours. Receptionist friendly and informative, transparent and prompt.

I'm a single 70 yr old woman, & so easy to take advantage of! & here I was, expecting complexities, high costs, & a difficult & distressing time trying to figure out why there was no power to anything in my 20 yr old motorhome w an equally old combo inverter that delivered no power to anything either! Expecting to be told I needed to buy a new 3000 watt minimum, very expensive, combo inverter, I was met with calm, COMPETENT, HONEST, CHEERFUL & COURTEOUS HELP!

They diagnosed, found & repaired all the electrical problems in my old motorhome! And after such prompt service, including a couple new headlights & tail lights installed, I happily paid my $290 bill & was on my way! I can't explain what was wrong, but EVERYTHING works again & I didn't go broke getting it fixed bc I pull into Rods for help!

These guys have the best service in the area. I had to have the alternator replaced and the truck had a starting problem a couple of days later. They came to my house to pick it up and took it to the shop to repair the problem within a couple of hours after I called them to report the problem. I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else.

Honest! Quick. Friendly. Accomodating. And HONEST. Had an emergency electrical problem, they got me in same day. Recommended by Another Local Shop! That says a lot!

I've had my car serviced here a few times, always friendly, fast, and breaking the bank.

I lost all turbo boost caused by the flex hose from my CAC coming loose on a drive from Longview to Tillamook, I limped into the Astoria area but I found no diesel mechanics in the area would help us. Nor could my roadside assistance folks. Called an RV store and they suggested Rod's. Talked to the owner and said he would send a guy by as soon as he could, I mentioned I was not far away in the walmart parking lot and I could "slowly" drive it over. He said to come on over. I did, he had his mechanic stop what he was doing and look at it. He went back in the shop to get tools and then fixed it by reinstalling the hose and tightened it up. All done in about half an hour. These folks are golden to me! Very helpful and we were able to get to Tillamook before 5pm that afternoon, before talking to Rod's, I wasn't sure what day we could get there.

I had an absolutely awful experience at this mechanic. I had some repairs done at a shop in Seaside and the part ended up being faulty so I parked my car in Warrenton for the weekend and took it to Rod’s which was just around the corner. I had called them a week prior and got some guy on the phone who was not very personable. Dropped it off Monday at 8:00am and they hadn’t started it until late in the after noon past my appointment time. They ended up breaking the part that had been installed at Doc’s and failed to mention that they broke it when I picked it up, stating that they had removed it to quell my ABS issue. Of course removing this part DID NOT help, and I really don’t appreciate that they just left it on my dash without disclosing why. They quoted me 1.1k in repairs, saying I needed a whole new wheel hub assembly as well as a new axel and a list of other things. I got in touch with my original mechanic at Doc’s and they said none of that was the matter when they looked at it days prior and to bring it back to them. I had Rods end working on it so I could tow it back to Doc’s and Rod’s charged me the same price to break a part I had just bought and do literally nothing as Doc’ had in the first place. Doc’s has been incredibly personable over the phone no matter who I speak to and felt terrible that I left on Friday with my issue still present. They have since been in touch every step of the way, and have replaced the part Rod’s broke out of their own pocket as well as replaced the wheel hub/bearings for about a third of the price I was quoted by Rod’s. I’m absolutely disgusted with the service I received here and cannot stress enough that I wouldn’t come back here if I was stranded in the Fred Meyer parking lot adjacent to them as happened this go around. I recommend both Blue Collar and Graf’s over Rod’s if you’re in Astoria/Warrenton and if you can make it to Seaside, Doc’s provides amazing service and communication and I would recommend them to anyone. Rod’s left a bad taste in my mouth and a hole in my pocket. I’d give them zero stars if I could. Shame on y’all.

My brake controller wasn't working, so they installed a new one.

That one was sending a very weak signal to the trailer brakes, so they diagnosed the problem as either a short or bad ground in the wire leading from the controller to the bumper connector.

Instead of trying to find out where the problem lay, they simply ran a new wire from the controller under the truck to the bumper connector, and that solved the problem.

I thought that they did good, honest work, and charged accordingly.

It wasn't necessarily my choice to go to Rod's Auto and Marine, but I would highly recommend them. Kim and the staff made all attempts to accommodate me often on the fly. They were amazing and I am grateful for how they made a pain of a situation tolerable.

Our motor home wouldn’t start at Ft Stevens state park. We called Grant at Rods he sent Steve out and he found the problem and got it fixed! Great service and didn’t gouge us with a huge bill! Highly recommend!!

Had an engine replaced on our Jeep, and they did a fantastic job of diagnosing, explaining, and completing the work WELL UNDER THEIR ESTIMATE. While we hope to never have a problem with our Jeep again, the reality is that when the next problem comes up, we will take our Jeep to Rod's.

Stopped at Rod’s based on a recommendation from a fellow traveler when we encountered an electrical problem with our Sprinter Penthouse roof.
Grant came right out to the van and was able to lower the roof fully so we could travel safely.
Grant and the people at Rod’s are responsive, competent and very, very nice.
Living on the road makes you appreciate businesses that don’t tell you to come back in a week.

As a mobile mechanic where downtime means money lost, this is the only place I will buy starters and alternators. Not only do the bench test everything to prevent frustrating dead on arrival situations, they are care enough to diagnose the old parts failure, and know enough to recomend a better suited part. By they I mean frant if course.

I cannot say enough about this shop. Their work is impeccable, fast and most certainly fairly priced. This will forever be my go to shop. My truck has gone in a few times and I’m always grateful for their service and communication. Thank you to all of you at Rod’s! Special shout out to Grant! Great folks here and a quality group of master mechanics.

Absolutely the best mechanic shop I have encountered in my life. We had two separate boat issues and the mechanic dropped everything to help us. Even ran to the parts store to get us spark plugs while we worked on our boat. I would send my grandma here alone and have no concerns.

I've been in the auto repair business for 28 years now, and I have never had the kind of customer service that I received from Rods Auto and Marine.
