Jerry was phenomenal. He’s not the company to chase you for business, rather gives you all the information you need ( or that you ask for). His crew was very polite and professional and was honest about what I should or should not replace when they tore off the old shingles. Roof came out great. The final invoice was the exact price Jerry and I agreed to before the job started. I’m in Tinley Park, so don’t let the location (for southwest suburb folks reading this) scare you away. A portion of my roof was leaking because it had been previously done with shingles but due to pitch, required a flat roof solution.
After researching 6 local contractors, I chose RK Roofing to fix it properly. Jerry's quote was competitive, he provided a lot of detail so I was comfortable I knew what would be done, and his communication leading up to, during and after the project was top notch. His crew arrived on time and knocked it out professionally in a single day. Thank you, Jerry!

The roof installed looks fine. The 2 roofers that came and installed it were extremely professional and respectful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the owner, Jerry.

He sent me a revised quote with a discount when I hadn't originally booked with them which I accepted. I made a $500 deposit payment with a credit card and was only charged $500.

Once the work was completed I went to use the same card for payment and was told he would be charging me a 4% merchant processing fee. I said I didn't think that was fair since he didn't charge me 4% when I paid the deposit and wasn't notified there would be a charge if I use the same form of payment. He was rude and dismissive saying he was now giving me prior notice. No, that's not prior notice.

If he'd simply been professional and followed what Illinois Law requires (giving clear notice of a merchant processing fee prior to a sale) this would have been a much different review.

As reply to your response: No, I was NOT notified prior, nor is it posted anywhere on your contract or website. That statement is completely untrue.

Be honest please! You notified me after the job was complete and after I had paid the deposit with no fee.

I would highly recommend RK Roofing. The team is phenomenal. They're incredibly hard workers. Our job had multiple nuances that they carefully and expertly took care of. Additionally they corrected issues that we were not aware of. It was our second time that RK Roofing installed a roof for us and we couldn't be happier.

RK Roofing was amazing. They gave us a fair quote on a few different items we needed to be fixed and replaced. There’s always some unknowns when taking off the roof and figuring out how much plywood needs to be replaced, it ended up being less than anticipated which was a cost savings. They included a service to make sure everything was in top notch shape even on parts of the roof and gutters that they did not work on. While they were working one of the workers showed me some issues that needed some touch fixing, he then fixed them and was able to show me the difference. Clearly they’re a hard working company and very honest and proud of the work that they do. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs repairs or replacements on their roofs.

R.K. Roofing replaced our roof, gutters & downspouts, and also installed our gutter guards. They did an excellent job! Owner, Jerry, was communicative throughout the process. Their roof & gutter technicians were incredibly nice and worked efficiently. We appreciated that they maintained a clean work site - and minimized disruptions. They were even able to navigate around intermittent spring rains in a way that kept our project moving quickly through to completion.

Jerry and his team were great. We were getting water into the house from a section of flat roofing and they were able to completely remedy the issue. Couldn’t be happier with the entire process.

Jerry and his team were very thorough in their roof inspection of my home, as well as the gutter cleaning and satellite dish removal. I browsed photos of the different roof areas that may have future issues such that I can be prepared and identify potential problem areas before they exist. I absolutely recommend their services and will call them for any roofing needs in the future.

This review is well overdue. R.K Roofing was great to work with for roofing. They did an excellent job for the best price. I saw work from other companies double the cost but the outcome didn't meet anywhere near the price they were asking for. R.K Roofing meet both expectations with such professionalism. Loved working with Jerry. Everyone was great! I was able to get the style of roofing with excellent installation for an unbelievable price.

They replaced my garage roof and did a great job! The new roof looks great! I thought it was a good price for the quality of work.

It appears he’s had the other negative review removed. The shingles he installed created a leak being one inch too high. There is no misinformation in this review. They do NOT know how to do flat roofs according to Jerry. This was not explained to my mother nor was it in the contract. We would not have hired him had he told us prior to starting work that our roof was outside of his expertise.
He was hired to replace the roof on the house but he claims that it excludes the portion with a flat roof and no such thing is on the contract. The contract says, tear off roof and to install new shingles. No one would hire someone to do half of their roof. He told us to just sue him when we requested a partial refund. In response to the roof leaking, he asked “Why did it just start now when it’s rained before?” During the initial installation, a part of the roof was visibly messed up. He came out himself and agreed that his guys did a poor job and had them come out to supposedly fix it

I needed a good sized roof redone and a chimney surround replaced. Had quotes from 6 companies - RK Roofing was about mid range relative to the quoted cost for the job. Jerry was by far the most professional of the owners I dealt with during the quoting process - like in the "old days" when people took pride in their work. The crew that did the work was professional, knowledgeable, and honestly treated my home and the site like it was their own. They did not rush, paid attention to details, and left the place spotless after each day. The tearoff job was not a small task and I literally could not find a single piece of scrap or nail anywhere. Amazing. Considering today's costs and the difficultly in finding quality contractors - Jerry and the crew were well worth every penny. Thanks Jerry!

We are thrilled with the two new roofs we received from RK Roofing. The crew was on time each day, polite, professional and extremely hardworking. They even spent extra time searching my flower beds to make sure every nail was picked up so we didn’t have worry about our kids or dog finding one. I’ve been doing a large of gardening since install and so far no nails!

I spent months researching different roofing companies in Chicago and they were hand down the best value. I almost worried it was too good to be true but they did an amazing job and Jerry (the owner) was extremely responsive and we were always in constant communication with our start date as spring in Chicago makes scheduling very tricky.

I contacted R.K. Roofing to ask them to help with some minor roof repairs (gutters, vent stack pipe) and to ask them to assess the current condition of the roof. At every step of the way Jerry was responsive, communicative, and honest. He gave me an honest assessment of the roof's remaining life and didn't at all try to pressure me into any unneeded work - he and his crew also identified a small leak near one of the attic vents that could have become a much bigger problem and fixed it professionally and affordably. Jerry was very professional. He completed the roof tear off and new installation under difficult weather circumstances. His crew cleaned the site after completing the work. His price was considerably more competitive than other roofers.

Jerry was very transparent from the start with an incredibly quick quote. I was kept up to date on all scheduling and work being complete. They were adaptive to some suprise weather, and worked hard to get the job complete once they could resume. Would not hesitate to recommend!
