Fred Ridley's over all construction work is SUB PAR. When rehabbing my bathroom his finishings were messy and extremely unprofessional. The drywall and the floor are uneven. Every contractor that I have had come into my home for other work mentions that the wrong grout was used for the tiles in the tub/shower area. This was work was performed in Dec 22. When a new contractor came in to finish the remaining rehab, it was discovered that the plumbing and electrical work was not up to Illinois code. Fred was asked to change the electrical work when he originally worked on the bathroom and he stated that he did. It has recently been discovered that he did not. It was also discovered that he is NOT a licensed plumbing contractor in Illinois. When I originally asked if he was a licensed contractor he said he was. It states he is licensed on his card, website and truck. That is not true. I would not recommend him to do ANY work. Fred was not willing to make any sort of restitution knowing that the work needs to be redone to bring it up to code. Please read his Better Business Bureau reviews before using this contractor if this was not enough to convince you not to use him.

ETA: I’ve tried to add close ups of the work of one of the bathrooms he has displayed. It looks nice from a distance, but the work is not professional. Also, a picture of the plumbing that is not up to code.

Ridley Construction worked on a kitchen remodel project at my home with Whole International Developments. Unfortunately, the quality of the work was not what we were expecting. Despite repeated requests to fix and a couple of return visits, the issues caused by this contractor had to be addressed by other professionals.

Major problems with this contractors work included:
- Installation of accordion pipe under kitchen sink with garbage disposal attached. Caused plumbing problems and was not up to code.
- Floating floor buckled shortly after installation. Contractor from Ridley Construction Group removed and reinstalled. Buckling and shifting was not resolved.
- Messily installed floor transitions, baseboards and quarter round
- large gaps between flooring and threshold leading outside.
- cabinet left with ventilation holes in top and bottom after microwave was removed.
