Greg built a home for us in 2019. Process was terrible. What was supposed to be 4-6 months took 13 months. There were many issues but this review will only focus on our master bath shower. After move in we noticed the shower was leaking. It had only been used for a week. We supposedly had a 1 year warranty on the home. Greg acted like he was going to do something trough text and calls but no one ever showed up. I’d check in every few weeks and he eventually stopped responding. I finally got around to ripping it out myself recently and reminded me that I needed to leave a review. Don’t waste your time here. It appears r&g homes may have gone bankrupt so keep your eyes open for his next business.
Greg starts out nice to get business, but is really unprofessional. The timing of the job went longer than expected because I did some of it myself, but when I called to try to get him back out to finish he blocked my number. His plumber was really nice and did good work, but he did cut the water lines too short to reach into the vanity. Instead of sending his own employees to tile the shower, he hired another company. Overall, not a good experience.
The Quality of the work was good and done at a very reasonable price. Workers were nice and mostly on time. Sometimes they didn’t show up but I’m not sure that was always their fault. The communication was poor most times and it was hard to get a response. The workers didn’t always know what was going on and we had to oversee the project . Thank goodness we were able to with our busy work schedules. There was supposed to be a project manager and he showed up once in 6 months. When the owner Gregg Kelley, wanted payment , he was very responsive. He often wanted it the day the invoice was sent and requested cashiers checks last minute. The timeline was off. We were told 4-7 weeks. We tried to be understanding but 6 months was a long time. The owner only would communicate through texts and would not answer phone calls. One Sunday we had an issue with his employee who said he was a supervisor. He unexpectedly stopped by to clean up our bathroom. It wasn’t complete but it was clean. He used our dumpster we paid for to dump a trailer full of trash from other jobs as directed by the owner. We paid for the dumpster and I find this really unprofessional . Our job was not complete at the time and they filled the dumpster to the brim. In the end I called the dumpster company to have it removed because I couldn’t get him to do it. I feel like Gregg Kelley wasn’t always honest with us and that bothered me. I rarely write reviews but this week we got a letter in the mail from a lawyer for a creditor asking for money because the owner defaulted on a loan. We gave him our final payment when the project was done over 2 months ago. This prompted me to write a review so others know what they are getting into. In the future, I would not use this company.
