After having a particularly unpleasant experience with another contractor, working with Brian was a breath of fresh air. In addition to building a workshop, we had a laundry list of other items to be done and were concerned if our wish list was bigger than our budget. Brian provided transparent pricing options so we could make informed choices. During planning, he offered cost effective solutions to meet our needs. When unforeseen circumstances arose due to our renovations exposing previous substandard construction that was obviously done without a permit, Brian immediately brought it and the safety concerns to our attention. He was able to make the necessary corrections for a very reasonable cost change. Every step of the way, communication was excellent and we felt respected throughout the whole process. Brian is a professional with high standards and delivered excellent quality. I can't speak highly enough of him and the company and would give more stars if I could. We are already planning for additional projects with RE Horner!

From our very first remodel to our new construction with detached garage. (And many other projects in between) we cannot say enough about this company. Brian was always available to address any questions/concerns throughout the process, and kept us informed as to each step a long the way. We are truly blessed to have them in our corner for future projects!

We had a new roof put on our home in August of 2020 by Brian Vaughn with R E Horner. Brian and his crew were very professional and efficient. On January 3, 2021, we had more than a dozen pine trees fall on our home during that eventful snowstorm that day. We called Brian to see if he could come out to inspect our damaged roof. He promptly came out with some of his men and put on a temporary tarp over the damaged shingles. As soon as it was safe and all of the snow melted, Brian and his crew replaced the damaged shingles per the insurance company’s estimate. So, if you are looking to replace your roof or have other home improvements that you are thinking about doing, we highly recommend Brian Vaughn and R E Horner.

Brian is honest, professional and kind, three attributes we have not found with anyone in the construction profession in this area! The work is done correctly, on time and the clean up is neat.
He even helped us out with an emergency situation one day. I have never experienced this kind of compassion with the owner of a company (and i have dealt with numerous).
He has been exceptional!!!!
We have found our forever crew!

Brian just did our roof...his crew showed up early, got right to work, worked all day and into the evening to finish the job in one day! Not only did they do a fantastic job with the roof, they cleaned up after themselves leaving minimal traces that they had even been here.
We will definitely be hiring Brian again for more work we need done around the house.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
