Ray Reed and his partner Dave Powell (Innovative Construction) built our reconstructed home on Lake Raponda. He was recommended to us by our architect and another homeowner on the lake. Our house is beautiful, strong, efficient, and full of personal touches. We love it! Ray has connections with excellent trades (HVAC, electrical) so the work was done well.

We purchased a new home (to us) in Newfane VT. It needed a new roof, paint, structure repairs, gutters, generator, hot tub etc…. I am lucky to have chosen R Reed Construction to project manage - do all work / entire project. Their prices were great (very competitive) but the level of service, responsiveness and quality of work far exceeded my expectations. Everything was done to PERFECTION and on time. Adding 3000 sq ft to a 2nd home we had outgrown, and still wanted to use while under construction is not an easy task. However, Ray & his team completed my addition while working through the pandemic and beyond. It was a challenging time to say the least. Labor shortages, maternal shortages and back orders were a daily problem. However, Ray provided me with the manpower needed including; Tile contractor who tiled 6 bathrooms, all with electric radiant heat, mudroom floor tiles w/radiant heat, stone Mason for chimneys and interior stone work, roofer, electrician, and man power for exterior site and stone work as well. I found Ray to be honest and forthright with every obstacle we encountered including ledge blasting, underground water drainage issues and installing a steel beam to eliminate lolly columns in the basement we were finishing.
It was a pleasure working with Ray, especially through those demanding times, therefore I highly recommend R. Reed Construction for all your construction needs. I have thanked Ray many times and now thank him publicly.

Summer of 2021, R Reed Construction was able to complete a roofing job of two bldgs. at our Condominium Complex in Bennington VT when another individual was not able to honor his contract. The community of people in our complex were thrilled R Reed took over because his workers not only worked hard, worked within certain hours each day, left the property tidy after each work day, were very professional, were very courteous and most importantly did not hang around smoking all day long on the property. They did a superb job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish our Board had sought out R Reed for the job to begin with! Thus my 5 star rating!!!!

Watching what Ray and his team have done in Sothern VT is truly inspirational. From larger commercial projects to residential they can do it all.

At a particularly difficult time for us in the early spring of 2020 (pre vaccine COVID) our home burned & had to be re-built (ground up).
Ray Reed and his team collaborated extraordinarily well with us on customizations, stepping in to secure the best subcontractors and materials, scheduling such that (as promised) we were able to move back into our house before the winter!
His scheduling skills, knowledge of complicated construction and follow through was always there.
Throughout the rebuild project, his associates (carpenters, plumbers, electricians tilers, flooring specialists, etc.) always spoke of him & his team with genuine respect and friendship. Most importantly, his word is his bond.
It pleases me to say that he and the people associated with him are our friends.
