Quality Inn - Beckley, WV

Better than where we were originally going to stay (TravelLodge across the street). Its easy to see, not sketchy and the room was very clean! Definitely an older look and could use an upgrade in furniture and tech but other than that very good. Definitely would stay again.

Our stay was very nice and relaxing. The pool is awesome ! The people were very nice that work there. The only issue was all of the ice machines were broken and had to go every morning to buy ice. Morgan’s is an awesome restaurant/bar. All of the people there are great!!

Kevin was a great help upon check in on July 6 - explained all the details I needed for the morning. I was surprised to see my statement under door in the morning, but that's a good thing! Entire place is a little outdated, but very clean, maintained and quaint; just a little disappointed that ice machine wasn't working on my floor, and that the parking lot lighting doesn't go all the way around to the back of building. I also applaud all the Choice hotels going to larger bottles of products in the bathrooms to reduce plastic waste, but I would like to suggest looking into either a pump or button style as the squeeze are a little difficult for those of us with arthritis or limited grip strength. Overall, very pleased and satisfied.

This place is a dump. It needs to be shut down. It is dirty, unkept and TripAdvisor missed this the mark bad. Are you being paid by hotels. The carpets throughout the hotel are filthy and sticky. The paint everything like green to cover it up. They should paid me to stay here. It is a horror show. TripAdvisor, please do you job.

We stayed here after a long day of driving. We needed a pet friendly room and this place fit that need. Even though it's a bit older, the rooms are pretty updated and were clean. The staff were some of the friendliest I've ever encountered, especially for a late night check in. They took the time to walk my wife to our room because it was quite far in another wing of the hotel. I was using a cane and they were kind enough to suggest I drive around and park very close to our room. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Excellent experience!

While in the area for work I needed a place to stay for a couple nights and my boss paid for a room here. I wasn't too excited after reading some of the reviews, but things weren't as bad as some proclaimed. Yes some of the furnishings are old, but hey they still work. I was pleased to find the light beside the bed had USB plugs. I noticed no bad smells in the room or hallway. The bed was very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is low compared to other hotels but it did it's job. I didn't get off work until 8am, only a couple minutes away, so by the time I got to the hotel the breakfast was pretty much picked through. But hey, it happens. The only thing I really didn't like was no elevator in a 3 story hotel. Of course I got a room on the 3rd floor, but being able to park at the 2nd floor level helped but my old knees still didn't like it. And no I didn't say anything to the front desk about this because it's not really a big deal just more of an FYI. All in all, if I'm ever in the area again I'll keep this hotel in mind.

The breakfast was inedible. My husband poured batter on the waffle maker only to find out it wasn't plugged in. Batter went everywhere when he turned it over. No one was down there to clean up the mess or fix the situation. There was burnt sausage patties and some nasty eggs. No fruit and no hot water for the tea bags. We threw away what we did take and went out to breakfast.

I stay at Quality Inn locations regularly, and I like them. But this hotel needs help, the breakfast was terrible and essentially nonexistent-stale cereal, no teas, lukewarm coffee, eggs but no potatoes or meats, white bread only-very disappointing. Additionally, there was no one at the desk in the morning to check anyone out.
The best thing about the hotel was the front desk person who checked me in, a real delight.
Overall, this is a tired property which needs to improve. I won’t stay here again.

How about some maintenance? A clogged sink and stained (I don't want to think what it might be) comforter. Others have already mentioned the carpets, and house keeping door knocks early. It's a weekend so perfectly acceptable to charge $140+ for a flea bag. Does have breakfast, but better get there early or its picked over and trashed.

The people working the front desk were nice and helpful. Hotel is somewhat difficult to see from the road, so make sure you are paying attention to your GPS. For one night it was okay, the bathroom was nicer than expected, the rest of the room was clean but very outdated. Some random holes drilled in the wall and the carpet was clearly abused a bit. Smelled weed inside the hotel while walking to my room despite the hotel claiming to be non smoking. They also never provided the password to the WiFi at any point. Overall it was okay, not great but not a train wreck either.

Good location and pet friendly. But the carpets are stained with dog crap. They need a cleaning bad. Breakfast was bad. Worst coffee I’ve ever had. No sugar. No syrup. Forget bacon or sausages. The pool is disgusting. The pet area is completely neglected. No doggie bags in the dispenser and the area is full of dog crap. Low water pressure. The front office people are good. The owners and manager are crap. Crap is the theme of this review

Your response made no sense. We didn’t get a free room. We don’t have a “service animal” and none of our dogs did their business in the hallways. Your breakfast wasn’t one star. We have been at this place four times before and the last time was a new level of terribleness. You need to be replaced.

Choose this hotel because of its location in proximity to the freeway. The customer service was good, very kind and helpful. The rooms on the other hand were more to be desired. I can understand not changing the covers on the bed every time but there was food crumbs and hair found on the sheets of both beds. The floors looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in at least a week. There was garbage left on the table. Felt like the price should have been more like under $95 not $130 a room. Most likely not say there again.

Rented the King suite and it was terrible. The room smelled and was extremely outdated. The bed was hard as a rock and laid at an angle. Luckily we walked straight out and was able to get a refund without to much issue and staff was friendly about it. Highly would not recommend!

They are convenient enough to the highway but are hidden back behind other buildings with no sign frontage. Trust your GPS because you can't see them from the road. We walked next door to IHOP for dinner, which was delicious. The bed is comfortable, sheets are soft, and the pillows are OK once you untuck them from the ball that housekeeping must think looks attractive. Not. They've done a good job updating the rooms. The breakfast goes until 10am on Saturday and Sunday, which is nice for those of us who like to sleep in. Another plus is that checkout is at noon. They DID knock at our door at 10:30 to make sure we were awake. Guessing some people still need that mothering, but we're not one of them. We'll come back. It was a pleasant stay.

My husband is a truck driver. Sometimes it’s hard to find a hotel that lets truckers park their trucks. Today he was turned down at a hotel down the street because he had a semi. We called this location and front desk was great! Answered all questions. Allowed him to park his semi and checked him in within minutes. Great place. Clean rooms and very friendly staff.

Heather at the front desk was extremely helpful. The hotel is short staffed and our room was not ready when we got here. We went to go eat and come back and Heather personally cleaned the room for us as the cleaning staff left already. The room was clean, beds were amazingly comfortable and the shower pressure was fantastic. The free breakfast is a great way to start the day. The hotel itself is dated and need of major renovations. There is stained carpet, will paper peeling off the walls and the rooms smell like cigarettes. The things that are important like a good night's sleep were met. Aesthetics not so much.

Stayed here for 1 night Jan 1st- Jan 2nd, 2025.

The toilet didn't stop running... always water running from the tank into the bowl. From the looks of the water stain on the bowl, it is a long term issue. There was not enough water pressure at the adjustable showerhead to use it other than the turbo mode when it would spurt out. Any rainfall mode the water just dribbled out. Also, the bathroom sink did not drain to keep up with the faucet.The thermostat for the hvac unit did not work properly. We had to set it to 58° to stop it from running constantly. Even at 58, it was still warm in the room. The only other option was to shut it off completely. The curtains had black grimey dust on the ends near the top as if they hadn't been washed in years.

Such a terrible experience. When we left I made sure to stop at the front desk. I explained the problems we had to the man that was working the desk. He didn't appear to make any note of the problems and simply said "Ok". Of all the things bad we encountered here, the worst was the fact that the gentleman didnt even offer an appology for our poor experience. Is that what customer service has become?

Come spring and our future annual trips, we will NOT be staying here.

Had a pet and he was going nuts because of all the smells in the carpet. Beds were broke down and very uncomfortable. The breakfast was not so satisfying. It's a very old place and needs redone, I guess in a pinch it worked. I do not recommend. I was very disappointed

Lindsey at the front desk was the reason we came back to this hotel. Very friendly and professional. Location is good, halfway thru the mountains, easy highway access, chic fil a is right next to hotel. Hotel was kind of old, but the rooms were clean, all the lights worked, everything in the room was just fine. Stayed here 2 separate occasions, both times were good. I would stay here again.

Very convenient when traveling on 77. They are very friendly and the king size bed are like sleeping on clouds what you need after hours of driving ☺️

People walk the halls all night, talking very loudly, people loitering in the parking lot. The room was very dirty, I'm not sure when the room was last fully cleaned as the dust layers on the headboard and lamps were very thick. Had to wipe down the headboard from all the dust, and it was sticky... the carpets were embedded with feces and urine. If we hadn't been so tired, we would have left. I don't recommend this place for families, especially with younger children, as you can hear people shouting and cursing all night. The staff are friendly but that doesn't make up for the rest.

I was extremely reluctant to stay at this hotel due to other reviews but ended up staying because others in Beckley were booked. It ended up being a very pleasant stay. I stayed for two nights and can summarize the experience as being clean, comfortable, and quiet.

The staff at check-in was very friendly and was able to get me checked in quickly. The hallways themselves had an extremely strong skunky smell (if you catch my drift) but it was not in the rooms. Upon entering the room, it was much cleaner than other reviews described, though there were a few minor stains and such (not a big deal to me personally). The beds were soft and comfortable (best of all: clean). The amenities were up to par, with a functional fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. Bathroom was clean and up to date, with well pressurized water (and very importantly to me: HOT water). Overall the rooms were a bit dated but clean and comfortable. I heard very little noise throughout my stay.

The breakfast was pretty good (another thing important to my stay) with fresh eggs and sausage, among other typical breakfast foods. I frequently stay in hotels and the breakfast honestly almost compared to a typical Hampton Inn in terms of selection. I enjoy taking breakfast in my room for a peaceful and quiet morning but you could not take food out of the buffet area here. Oh well.

The only thing (a minor thing) I would have an issue with is the fitness center situation. It was definitely quite dated and the pulley machine was extremely noisy (honestly it just needed oiled). There were big open windows to the parking lot, which I did not enjoy because I was there after dark...which meant I had people looking in. Again, this is a very small complaint and not a big deal to me.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. From other reviews, it sounds like your experience will be determined by whatever room you end up with. I would stay here again, although maybe still a bit hesitantly.

Older motel with some minor maintenance issues, but room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Not much room for larger vehicles.

We were hesitant to stay in Beckley because most of the mid-range price hotels had recent reviews complaining about dirty, smelly, bug-infested rooms (including this Quality Inn). But we were very satisfied with our stay, even though it was a bit on the pricey side for a Quality Inn. Our room had no funky smell or dampness, and the room, bathroom, and linens were clean. The staff was kind and polite. Breakfast was decent too—eggs, sausage, biscuits, and waffles plus a few cold options like cereal. We’ll definitely stay here again if we pass through Beckley.

Great customer service here. Got checked in very fast. Another employee, seemed like a maintenance guy, was also very friendly. He made coffee to make sure it was fresh for everyone. Located next to lots of restaurants.

I was driving through from a visit from Virginia Beach. The inn is an older inn; however, very clean and well keep. The bed was OK and the pillows were really soft to sleep on. The people from the person checking me in to the people cleaning in the inn were so nice. I asked the person checking me in a good place to eat, she was able to give me a list of places to eat with in walking distance from the inn. This was very helpful as I was really tired and did not want to drive any further for the day. I have put this area on my bucket list to go back to spend more time at.

This review is for Quality Inn, Beckley, WV. Room was extremely nasty (stained carpet and chairs, not cleaned) and there was dried blood on bed. Checked in Sept 8, 2024. Price was $163.00. Complained to front desk, moved to another room with hair on bed and trash on floor. Hotel should be closed down.

This is one of the nastiest and most dilapidated hotel that I have stayed at. It should be condemned. The desk clerk was the only thing about this hotel that wasn't horrible. The room was dirty, including the bathroom sink, the dresser drawers, and the room and common areas all have an unpleasant odor. I considered demanding a refund and going to another hotel but honestly, I was just too exhausted. I have no clue how this hotel earned a 4.0 rating. Must be a lot of fake reviews.

Clean hotel friendly staff only complaint would be the lack of water pressure in diffrent rooms I've stayed in . Otherwise highly recommend

I booked last minute as my trip schedule suddenly changed. The service over the phone and in person was terrific - very friendly, courteous, and professional. The location was also convenient to the freeway and a variety of different restaurants. The room itself, however, was incredibly outdated and worn - with numerous stains and significant wear throughout. Not a bad value, but it would be nice if the room was as inviting as the staffing.

What an unexpected place for a good night sleep. Love, love the choices for breakfast! They always have a spread of wonderful choices! There are various choices for dinner, nice entertainment within facility. Must make reservation as it’s a popular location - all year round.

The housekeeping staff was wonderful. Aside from that, the one and only ice machine was broken the entire time. The drink machine did not work. Our TV only got local channels and infomercials. The a/c unit was noisy. The parking lot is designed so that people are parked right outside your window and you can hear them coming and going.
