I got a room for one night. The front desk was nice. I get the first room. It was filled with ants in the bathroom. I went to the front desk. They accommodated me and gave me a different room. It was better than this room. No hot water bathtub stopped up slowly to drain. TV only has six channels you can watch the mini fridge with frozen. not all the lights work in the room only three lights work out of seven. This is one hotel. I will never come back to again. No AC in the lobby the room had AC that worked good. This is the worst mistake that I have made next time. My future wife is going to pick the hotel.

This place was not the best by any means. We arrived late on 7/18/25 after a long drive from Cleveland. Ohio. The beds accepable no stains or odor.
However, that's about the only good thing I can say about our experience. The coat rack in our room was literally hanging by 2 screws. Refrigerator in room was warm. Entire bathroom appeared "old" and in need of a complete remodeling. Tub faucet very loose, grout surrounding tub stained, dirty looking, overflow plate absent and area rusted. Light fixture was a single exposed bulb as one would normally find in wookshop.
Main ice machine not functioning. Only available ice was at breakfast and consisted of a small counter top unit with an approx volume of 1/2 gallon. The provided breakfast was terrible. Hard cooked eggs or pancakes only hot items. The pancake batter ran out before we could all serve ourselves. Sugar free syrup had 1/2 inch left in bottle with no refill available. Apples were overripe and bruised. Juice machine was serving room temperature juice. Manager said that's the way it's served and advised adding ice. Refrigerator had only a small amount of milk, no yogurt at all.
I reported all my concerns to the manager. He was polite, but acted surprised the room needed repairs. (I can't understand how such obvious inadequacies were not previously noted by housekeeping or management staff.) He assured me the repairs would be addressed.
I would never recommend this place to anyone or stay here again. (We booked this room on Priceline so it was prepaid or I would have walked out)

Right off I-95 South and easy to get to with big 18-wheeler parking. Clean, spacious suites and super friendly owner/front desk. The breakfast waffle and bagel are the best! I stay here every time I'm passing through.

I was in a big jam and I just made a reservation before even looking at this place!! Let’s just say never again!! Staff was very nice and respectful but very dirty with bugs running around everywhere!!! To be completely honest 10 mins after I checked in I completely regretted it!!

This place is a dump it's absolutely disgusting the management is so unprofessional. They have mice so very badly I even had one in the bed. The cock roaches are so awful I don't understand why they are not shut down I don't recommend anyone stay at this place id sleep in my car before I'd ever book at this place again. The husband and wife screaming and yelling at customer's and NEVER PAY WITH WITH YOUR BANK CARD IF YOU DON'T WANT IT CHARGED WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. I will never book this place again.. health department has been notified.

This hotel is in the process of upgrades and renovations,however it is very clean and the beds are the comfiest we slept in our whole trip. The GM/owner is very friendly and accommodating.
The location is easy access from highway,plenty of areas for dog walks. Next trip through this area we will certainly stay again.

I booked my room on a 3rd party site and it was 86 for 2 nights they charged me a extra 24 dollars to stay there they said the have to pay out of their pocket 600 don’t stay there their pool was closed down it’s some what run down people are nice but I won’t be staying there again

Deserves no stars! Nothing good to say about it other than location. Stayed one night. Went to front desk late after midnight. Rang the bell numerous times, called the cell number it said to call as well a few times and nothing. Waited for over 15 mins for someone to come check us in. I asked about the price differences online and the man got an attitude with me and said don’t try to play slick games, I said I’m not and proceeded to try and ask my question again and he got more rude and said don’t try to play slick games with me. I said excuses me, I’m not. Was just a question. Room has already been paid for so not trying to play a game. He then told us it’s a non smoking room. I said ok. That’s fine. I said I can go outside to smoke. Then wanted my card for incidentals all of a sudden. And tried to charge my card then for more money. Then again at 3:15am. We had no hot water in the shower, and it only got hot or warm just running from the faucet. Later that am, also learned the pool they advertise, has no water in it! When checking out, I attempted to talk to woman at counter and explained it to her and said that we were dissatisfied, she said good thank you! So yea. Not happy at all.

So dont book third party here these guys literally said I couldn't get a room because I booked third party in that third party dont do refunds. So they made me pay 20 dollars more or they kick me out on the street if you dont allow them to steal from you.

Excellent hotel located right next to 96 south bound lane. Off 95 at exit 104
Good amenity' all travel need is satisfactory and clean hotel. Staff was very helpful you can ring a bell and help there 24/7 available
Parking space is plenty and it is free no swimming pool but good exercise room 167

Travellers, this is a clean hotel that is economical too. The folks working here are very friendly and willing to accommodate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but are clearly in the process of being renovated. As a long distance travelled this is a solid stop for the night. The continental breakfast was great too. Check it out.

I wish I could give zero stars for my experience at the Quality Inn in Ruther Glen. We booked two rooms for two nights, but left after just one night because of multiple issues.

First, we saw rats in the room — not just once, but twice! That alone should have been a dealbreaker, but things only got worse. The towels were disgusting and dirty, the floors were filthy, and the room had a foul odor. I could’ve overlooked that, but the staff's behavior was absolutely unacceptable.

When I asked to be moved to a different room due to the rat problem, the front desk told me to come back later after check-out time. When I returned, no one was at the desk. I rang the bell and was met by a woman who came down from another motel room and who was incredibly rude. She falsely claimed they had already given us keys for a new room, which was a complete lie. She then told me they couldn’t accommodate us, and when I asked for a resolution, she rudely told us to stop talking, shushed us with her finger, and coldly said, “I’m going to check you out.” Out of respect to her as a woman, I didn’t escalate the situation and simply agreed to check out.

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The filthy conditions and the staff’s unprofessionalism make this place completely unacceptable. I will never stay here again, and I strongly recommend that others stay away too.

So let me just start by saying this! We walked in there from being out at Amusement Park all day really needed to rest before going home however did not end well. Came into building smelled like marijuana and cigarettes which two of us have asthma. Then we go to check in get our key and get to room which had ants all over the window and musty smell. I went to desk they put us in this room I’m going to post. So disgusting and such a disgrace someone would have a hotel so nasty.

THIS HOTEL WAS THE WORST HOTEL EVER THE FRONT DESK GUY WAS RUDE STATED IN ORDER TO HAVE A HANDICAP ROOM YOU MUST HAVE PAPERWORK STATED YOUR HANDICAP…. HE ALSO RAN OFF TWO GUEST HE WAS LOUD AND DISRESPECTFUL

The room was very clean, the host was very friendly and we enjoyed our breakfast before hitting the road. Great shower, some places don't have good showers and There is nothing better than a great shower before hitting the bed, and the bed was soooo comfortable, nice to crawl into have a busy day. Very Nice hotel! we will definitely stay there again!!

The man at the front desk was very nice, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. There was a very strong cigarette smoke smell all throughout the building. Bugs in the rooms. Stains on the sheets, towels, floor, and ceilings. Holes in the bathroom walls. Cigarette burns in the sheets too. The TV remote did not work either. The doors that went to the outside on the sides of the buildings were not locked either which is not safe. We would have complained to the front desk but it was honestly too scary to leave the room.

I see the person who runs the hotel answered my first review. He did not address the cleanliness aspects of the room including the multiple mysterious stains on sheets, ceilings, walls, floors, towels, and appliances, cigarette burns, holes in wall or bugs. Nor did the apparent presence of CTVV video surveillance alter the way I felt about the property. The outer doors were still unlocked and the hallways still felt scary during my stay there. If Peter took one walk around the hallways he would know that the majority of the guests who stay here do not care about the no smoking policy which is evident from the smoke residue on the walls and the scent in the air.

This place is great! Homey and beautiful. The rooms are so nice, I slept so good! Woke up to a nice breakfast (waffles were amazing) and everyone had such great hospitality. I would love to go back. One of the best places I’ve stayed at. 10/10!

The quality of a Scandinavian prison with a price tag of $90/night.

Pros:
- The people at the front desk were very friendly, enough to make me question if I wanted to write this review
- The mini refrigerator kept our food cold

Cons:
- This was the most run down and dirty hotel I have ever stayed in (I stay in budget hotels frequently)
- The ceiling was falling apart
- The bathroom was moldy and the tub was caked with grime
- There were small black particulates of unclear origin between the sheets (did not appear to be bed bugs but still disquieting)
- There were cigarette burn holes in the sheets
- The floors were sticky
- All of the hallways smelled like smoke
- The exterior doors were falling apart
- A smoke detector down the hall had a low battery and was beeping all night
- The juice machines were out of juice

It’s unclear where or when the other photos are from, but they are either not from this hotel or they are from a very long time ago.

I stay in a room there are roaches all over my electronics when I go to sleep and when I wake up their are mice running through hotel. Multiple people have complained about it. Owner does not take care of parking lot when it snows and thier is ice all over road.

As I was getting settled in my room, I noticed that the room was in disrepair, not clean, outlets and lights did not work and it appeared that someone had used the shampoo. I would have asked for another room but I was too afraid to leave my room. ||||Later, I was awakened by pounding on my door. I didn’t answer at first but a man continued to pound and it was clear that he was going to enter my room if I didn't respond. I asked what he wanted by shouting through the door and he said ”Oh someone is in there” and continued down the hall. ||||At breakfast the next morning, I was the only person in the dining room when a man came in. I thought he was an employee because he appeared to be looking for someone who worked there. He kept talking to me even though I was reading while I ate my breakfast. He wouldn’t leave me alone so I politely told him that I wanted to focus on my reading. He just sat at a nearby table and watched me. I was so uncomfortable that I left without finishing my breakfast and went to the front desk to get some help. The man followed me to the front desk. ||||There was no one at the front desk nor was there any other hotel employee or security around. Finally, a hotel employee come to the front desk. The man, who wouldn't leave me alone, then asked me to go to his room. I told him that he needed to leave me alone or I was going to call the police. He then left the front desk. I asked the employee at the front desk if that man was an employee or guest. Although I asked him this question several times, he didn’t answer because he didn’t appear to understand what I was asking. I explained what the man did but the employee didn’t appear to understand and didn't show any concern about what I shared with him. It became clear that I wasn’t going to get any help from this employee and there were no other employees around that I could speak with so I just checked out and quickly left. I will not stay at this hotel again.

This place smells bad, dropped off a food delivery and used the restroom in lobby. The Indian lobby lady chased me out to the parking lot cussing me out for not turning the light off in the bathroom. Then tried to force me back inside to turn it off once I was by my car. Don’t go here place is sketch.

The overall experience was amazing. It was quiet it was beautiful inside the rooms, wifi was strong and slept very comfortably. I enjoyed my stay last night and the manager was very nice he saved me some coffee this morning. Amazing place great prices I encourage others to enjoy the same stay and feel as me and my bf did.

I travel to western New York every 6 months for business/pleasure and always stay at the budget hotels since I just need a place to sleep so don't expect a whole lot. But this motel was very nice and a step up from your standard budget motel.

This place was genuinely horrifying. Front desk people were very friendly, but we left within 30 minutes of being there. Gross carpets, gross bathroom, gross walls and neither the TV nor wifi worked. Random hallway windows open (probably to air our the freshly smoked cigarettes) and doors to the outside with broken locks. Do not believe the photos on their website, they are either *many* years old, or heavily edited. I have stayed in a lot of budget hotels in my life but I have never left one in the middle of the night before, and man am I glad I did.

If I could post a zero star review I would. Went to the hotel because my truck broke down and the place stunk. The hallways were horrible. They put me in my first room and there was cockroaches in the dresser drawer, so I asked them to move me which they did. The second room there was a hole in the wall. I didn't even want to walk, barefoot or with socks on on the carpet because it was so nasty. There was burn marks from someone sitting a cigarette on the side of the tub probably about 12 of those marks. So I go back to the lobby to get the Wi-Fi password, which I got. But while I was sitting in the lobby on my phone, here comes another cockroach crawling across the tile floor. And that's when I had enough and I left the place was disgusting.

Room was disgusting. Had mold on the lampshade. The lampshade. Turned the lights on and roaches scattered. And the ceiling paint peeling. The floors peeling. Pubes on the sheets. There was stains on them as well. I don’t know how this place passes any health inspection. Dead bugs all over the floor. Stinks of e cigarettes. And when I said to the man I can’t stay here he said I understand. Didn’t even fight me.

Everything I have to say has been said. Disgusting, filthy, moldy- even the freaking toilet paper was moldy! Everything was slimey or sticky and it wreaked of urine and the bleach they obviously splashed over everything but didn't bother to properly clean with. Utterly Disgusting. Pay the extra few bucks to go somewhere else.

The only redeeming quality was the friendly man at the front desk. But absolutely nothing else.

Nasty very dirty advertise there is a pool but there is no pool mold and mildew all over hotel doors don't properly lock or secure hair and bugs in the beds then they double charge you and then tell you to take it up with your bank they charged me 17 dollars twice when I used half points then 17 cash then added acharge of 25 dollars then tried to say I owed 10 at the end food was disgusting even other customers were complaining how bad the hotel is floors are torn up through out. Health inspector and state needs to go and inspect that place definitely will never stay there again have a dispute with mu bank against them for double charging me plus taking my points and charging me full price for room.

You already know what i’m going to say. I didn’t even walk in the room yet and I had to leave. First of all, I came here with my family of 4 and a small dog. Pet fee 15$, okay cool. Room, 149$, okay cool. Staff was extremely friendly, maybe overly friendly because they know their hotel is disastrous. I never ended up going inside the room because as soon as me and my family member walked in, I felt bad energy already. He looked at me, and I looked at him, and we knew we had to get out of here. The place stunk of cigarettes, marijuana, with a little bit of urine. The staircase had empty cups on it and the carpet looked like it was last cleaned before I was born. I’m not trying to be funny. First red flag was that you had to go past another hotel, Comfort Inn, to get there. It was like a backroad of sorts. The next red flag was the outside of it. Outdated. I’m not trying to be nit picky or acting like i’m better than this, but it’s just so infuriating that they think they can get away with this. The nice looking pictures are from 4-5 years ago. The more recent ones look utterly disgusting. Don’t let them trick you, just go to Comfort Inn next door. I thought Comfort Inn and Quality Inn were together or something, but I guess(or definitely hope) not. So much for “Quality” Inn. And yes, I did get my refund. Will never come back.

This hotel was awful and disgusting and staff was disrespectful some older man who looked run down!!! 1 staff member up front and construction everywhere and all their supplies. Smooth reservation on the phone but when we got there we waited 45 min without any AC in 95 degree weather. Along with a father and his child in the car then we had 3 cockroaches in the bathroom and 2 in our clothing drawers. Also a bed bugs in the sheets and water bugs in the bathroom which was never cleaned especially the shower we never used . Pest control never came by. Never once complained until I asked my checkout date to extend a few hours and he wanted to charge me a whole night!!!!! Ontop of everything that has happened. I complained and got screamed at on the phone and was yelled at to get out so I damn did. DO NOT GO HERE and the pool is completely empty no warning on website.

Just wanted to give a shout out and a Thank You too this location. We were in a car wreck on the freeway in front of this hotel. The staff came to the fence to make sure everyone was alright. After the accident they allowed us to bring the tow truck up the lobby and unload our stuff. They were so kind and allowed us to sit in the lobby with our kids and dogs while we figured out our next steps for the day. The lobby was super clean and welcoming. We are grateful for the kindness and shelter after our accident. Again Thank you!!

Worst hotel that I’ve ever seen. I feel so guilty that I exposed my children to this, but we just needed a spot to get a few hours of rest and break up our drive. I booked through travel points, and wish I would’ve read these reviews before booking. The first room that we were assigned stink like smoke, (the entire back hallway of the second floor did), so I had to ask for another room. The second room had mold growing all over the AC unit and brown water coming out of the showers/sinks. Sheets were dirty and we had to use our own towels as blankets. Could not use the water at all. Could not use the AC as it would’ve been pumping mold spores in the air, and my kiddos have asthma. All that we were looking for was a place to lay down for 6 hours, but we didn’t even stay that long because of the conditions. I did not see bed bugs or roaches in our room, but I was afraid to look. I did see roaches in the lobby. Don’t make the same mistake that I did… Avoid this hotel, especially with children.

Trip Advisor showed the price as $53 and when we called for a reservation it became $83. The difference was tax & fees. The reservation was not cancellable, or we would have after seeing the room. We had a handicap room, with a rusted shower that had a built-in seat that we wouldn’t consider sitting on. The door peephole had tissue in it because you could peep in as well as peep out. The ceiling had water damage|The place was being renovated and needs it bad. All we saw people painting.

We usually stay at Red Roof Inn. Ashland VA because we have a dog. But were not pleased, so we tried Rutger Glen- Quality Inn & Suites on April 14, 2024.
Yes, it was hard to find buried behind other hotels but our GPS got us there. .... don't judge this hotel by the outside.
Our room 112 was nicely refurbished and VERY quiet.
Yes, we would use this hotel again.

Even though this is an older facility that we have stayed in over the years. It is kept|up the rooms are neat and clean. The staff is friendly and courteous. The breakfast bar offered good coffee and fresh food. The price was not outrageous as you often see on the road. Would recommend this facility. Don't expect the Taj Mahal but you can expect a good nights sleep.

First of all I am not the type to leave bad reviews but in this case I feel an obligation to caution other families. I am ex military and have slept in some rough conditions so not much typically phases me. I booked this hotel because I had a day at Kings Dominion planned for myself and two children. The location seemed great for that. I have stayed at other Quality Inns and the pictures on the website seemed to portray a decent / clean hotel and since I was only staying one night I figured I would give it a shot even though I was reluctant because of other negative reviews. The guy at the front desk was very nice and I think he could have been the owner. I really hate to leave a bad review but honestly I was just shocked by the overall condition and cleanliness of the entire hotel and especially our room. Our room was on the second floor. There is no elevator so I had to hike our luggage up a set of stairs. I will say that he did offer to help but I just thought it was unusual to not have an elevator (or at least an operable one). I am not afraid of a little workout so that was no big deal for me but for others that are not physically capable of that just be aware. As we made the trip down the hallway to our room I noticed that the carpets look like they have not been vacuumed for some time and the whole place reeked of a cross of weed, cigarette smoke, and an overall funky stench. When we got to our room I was just amazed of the filth. I attached a few pictures that can do some of the talking but really i could have posted many more. The sheets looked like they hadn't been washed for some time. Luckily we had traveled withe some of our own blankets and pillow so I peeled their sheets and pillow off and used ours. The smoke detector had a plastic bag over it??? I've seen bathrooms at gas stations that were cleaner. The exhaust fan had so much build up on it I don't think it could have ever been cleaned. The ceilings were flaking off debris and the floors were noticeably dirty. I didn't get the impression that there could have been a housekeeping staff working there and if there is they should be fired for ridiculously low standards. Ordinarily I would have complained and got my kids out of there but we were so tired from a long day in Washington DC that I just decided to tough it out because we were only staying for a few hours. You are honestly going to stay clear of this place. I feel guilty that I even had my kids in this situation. Do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks to get something decent.

The front desk manager was one of the nicest people I've met. Unfortunately that was the only positive part of my one night stay. The curtains in the room reeked of cigarette smoke, so much my eyes were burning. The toilet had a couple hairs on it and there was no way I was stepping in that shower. I was extremely tired, so didn't ask to change rooms, just slept for a few hours and took off. Picture of broken chair shows the attention to quality. Didn't want picture of the bathroom on my phone. Avoid staying here if possible. For a Quality Inn, was extremely disappointed.

Upon a late night check in, we discovered that the sheets on both beds were covered in hair and other debris. The bath ceiling was covered in mold, the shower curtain would not stay closed as the shower curtain rod was hung on a slant. The towels were covered in dust particles.

Booked 2 rooms, as we walked into the rooms one had bags of clothes and trash and cockroaches. The second room had cockroaches. Went to reception, and they seemed so surprised they gave us 2 more rooms. Second set of rooms, stains everywhere on the comforter and sheets. Mold on the walls. A non employee just walking up and down the hall trying to open doors. We left that place. Never had seen anything like this before. We told reception again, and he gave us attitude like it's our fault. Update: we are in August and have not received my refund
