I an restoring my Rating of PureLight to 5 stars. PureLight staff worked diligently to solve a communication issue, and everything is working great now. My July utility bill was $0!
I am not happy with PureLight Power. Here's a bullet list of why:
* PureLight said they would monitor my system and fix it proactively. They have grown so much that they no longer continuously monitor systems. You have to call in any problem.
* Last month, 2 of my 10 panels quit because a microinverter failed. I had to call it in myself, and they did send a technician and week later.
* Last week my entire array died. It had been down for 6 days and PureLight did not detect the problem - I had to call it in myself. There was a power outage on Apr. 8, and the array died after the power was restored.
* I requested same-day service since the array was offline for 6 days. I was told that was an unrealistic request because they had only been aware of the problem with my call a couple hours earlier. I was given the option of a service appointment on Apr. 24 - take it or leave it. I responded that the Apr. 24 service call was unacceptable to me because that would mean my array would be offline for 16 days, and I would have to buy power from Northwestern Energy during that time.
* I requested to speak to a supervisor, and he chimed in that the absolutely earliest appointment I could get was APR. 24. No negotiation, that's what it is. I also got a lecture about how scheduling an expedited service call would be unfair to all the people scheduled in the queue for service calls (must be a LOT of broken systems)
* Along the process, I was told that there was only ONE service technician in their Montana territory (that explains the inflexible scheduling).
So, my take away is:
* Purelight won't monitor your system
* I have doubts about the reliability of the arrays electronics. Two failures in two months.
* If your system breaks, you have to find it and report it yourself.
* You will be in line for a service call from the single technician when he gets around to it. Current wait is 9 DAYS.
* presale and installation were great, but post-sale/support leaves everything to be desired.

My experience with PureLight Power has been excellent from ntact with them. I saw their ad on Facebook and thought I had nothing to lose to contact them and see if solar would work for me. I filled ourt their form and sent it in, and they contacted me immediately. They came and inspected my property and determined that the roof of my detached shop was ideal for solar. The roof pitch and exposure are perfect for solar, with no obstructions or trees, and the trusses would easily support the weight of the panels. I decided to go with PureLight, and they started the design and permitting process. They did a phenomenal job on the front-end, handling all of the complicated paperwork and obtaining all the permits and tariffs with Northwestern Energy, all behind the scenes. After all of the approvals were in place, their installers showed up and installed 10 panels. It took them only 90 minutes to install the panels. Their installers were personable, highly skilled, quick and safe. After inspection and approval by the State, we went live onto the grid. The solar panels "talk" to an app on my phone, and at any given moment I can monitor the power production for each panel, as well as cumulative production on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. PureLight designed my system to cover my entire electrical usage for the year. My household usage is not much, but I have a well on my property and in the summer, my water pump runs a lot when I water, and that sent my electricity bills through the
I cannot recommend PureLight Power enough - too bad the rating scale only goes to 5, because I rate them at a 6+!!! Without exception, every person I've worked with at PureLight has been personable, knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, and efficient. It's refreshing to see that that level of customer support still exists!
