I've used John twice and the first inspection was fine, but the most recent one missed some things that should have been caught, both of which I'm now having to fix out of pocket. The first is the dryer venting, which isn't put in correctly and runs the entire distance of the house for some reason. When we moved in it was venting into the basement because it fell off, but it might not have been off when the inspection was done. The second was some ductwork that is completely deteriorated. I checked over the report again to make sure I didn't miss these items and I didn't. They were missed on the inspection. The heating and air contractor we hired specifically made sure to comment that these both should have been found in a home inspection.

Edit: Dropping this to one star. (I'd do zero if I could) Since I did the original review we've now found mold and water damage in the home that we have again been told should have come up on any home inspection and was most definitely there for several years.

Prompt, very informative, professional, knows his stuff, seems to have some connections when it is time to do some repairs.

John did our home inspection on a property we were buying. He was on time, detailed, and explained things as he went amd answered my questions as they came up. I would highly recommend John and will hire his services again for our next property. Very professional and had the report in my email in very quick time.

Highly recommend!!! He walked through room by room and thoroughly explained his findings. He recapped everything at the end and sent me a detailed report. One thing I really liked is that he told me what and how I could fix some of the items vs what needed professional assistance. It was a great experience and gave me peace of mind in this crazy housing market.

Inspection went well overall. The communication John has is probably the best in the industry. I believe I called him at 4 different times and answered every time. Definitely recommend and will go back to John for future inspections.

I had called on a Tues and left a message and John called me back rather quickly. I was purchasing my first home and set up a time to have him come and inspect the mobile home. He was a available that Thurs but come to find out the park manager was not available so I had to reschedule and he was very understanding and polite and was able to do it that Fri morning. John spoke to me about a few things, giving me advice on some things to do and how to do them. Even the little things from making my windows move more smoothly when opening and closing them, so they didn’t wear over time. Very patient man, didn’t rush the inspection or rush me when I wanted to take notes on what he told me and very informative. I’d definitely recommend him in the future!!

Arrived on time, explained anything we had questions on, found things we would have not caught. Took a lot of thorough notes and photos. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job on the inspection. We received our inspection report the next day.

It’s been nothing but a nightmare from the giant holes in the foundation that a small toddler can crawl through..that the water dumps into the basement whenever it rains and everything in the room above it freezes like a solid rock in the winter. to all the old knob and tube wiring that I made sure to ask if it was updated.. which it was not half the stuff wasn’t even grounded!! just to get that removed and put in new wiring is over $4,000 for the main level. The entire upstairs and attic is knob and tube.And to get the foundation repaired since the entire addition is sinking into the ground we can’t shut the back door. That’s another 9,500. The front steps are not even attached to the house our mail lady had to let us know that. Gas line wasn’t capped, washing machine drain pipe dumped onto the basement floor... We hired your company to make sure we did not get stuck with these big repairs. Not sure how these things passed the inspection. Absolutely blows my mind!

From start to finish our experience with John was great! I liked that the pricing was upfront and there was the option of booking an appointment right online. He arrived to our appointment early, and gave us the peace of mind we were looking for when purchasing an old home. He followed up before the appointment to make sure I didn't have any prior questions, and I had the finished report (detailed and included pictures with notes of the problem areas) within 24 hours of the inspection.

We decided to try John based on other reviews and were very impressed with his home inspection. We are purchasing a home that is over 100 years old in a historic district so weren’t quite sure what to expect, however John made us feel comfortable with our purchase and took his time answering all our questions.
