You may have read my review for Chandler Plumbing and come to check this review out. If not, and you need plumbing done, go see my review there.
After a plumbing emergency that resulted in some pretty serious water damage, we contacted Preferred Choice on the plumber's recommendation. The plumbers called them up for us, and explained what was going on, and before the plumber was even done, Preferred Choice had already shown up to take a look. Lawrence was first on the scene and reviewed everything. He was really straightforward and explained what the process was going to be like. I will be honest, I was extremely skeptical and was feeling worried that, maybe despite the experience I had with the plumber, these guys weren't quite on the level. I will also be honest in saying that I was probably not as friendly as I could have been because I was still unsure of everything. Lawrence was unflappabe. He remained upbeat and positive, reassuring me that they were there to help, and like Chandler Plumbing, they want to have customers for life and they are not in the business of being dishonest. I remained skeptical, just because I had never dealt with any of this before. Lawrence explained the process, including how to file a homeowners insurance claim, and what would come next. He took pictures of everything, and showed me what he was looking at. He was happy to share them with me as well so I could have them for my records. He then set up a dehumidifier right away, to mitigate damages and said the next steps were demolition.
Demo came in, and did what they do. They were in and out, set up more fans and dehumidifiers. They said next an estimator would come out and write everything up, and that in the meantime the would be stopping in daily to check moisture levels, which they did promptly every time. Any time I had questions, and reached out to Lawrence he would always respond right away, and give me any details I asked for, even when it was past business hours, which I did a few times by accident. I was still skeptical because I wasn't given an official invoice/estimate for work done, but he assured me that it was part of the process and not to worry. The estimator then came out and took a look at everything, and got me an estimate same day, which I sent along to insurance.
Insurance took forever to get back to me, but when I finally got them on the line, the adjuster kept trying to convince me to use a different contractor that they worked with. I said I wanted to stick with the people who started the work. I then asked if he had seen the estimate. He hadn't and checked it with me on the phone, and stated that to his surprise it looked very reasonable given the details. Fast forward more, insurance continued to take forever to get their own estimate/reviews/whatever, and Preferred Choice was perfectly fine. They said they understood and knew it was part of the process. Once insurance figured it out, they said they were in line with Preferred Choice's estimate and actually mentioned they were interested in partnering with them due to their excellent pricing.
Fast forward EVEN more, once I got approvals, the rebuild and repairs were lightening fast. Without the wait times due to insurance, the demo, remediation, estimate, and rebuild would have taken 5 days end to end. Incredible work. Not only that, the repairs are FLAWLESS. You would never ever know my kitchen had a huge hole and a ton cabinets ripped out. It is pristine.
So if you made it to the end of this novel, thanks for reading. And to Lawrence, Dave, Ben, and all tradesmen who absolutely crushed it: thank you for your excellent work. And thanks for providing excellent service when I was a little more grouchy than I needed to be. You have earned my absolute trust, and my business for life. 11/10, fantastic work.
