I had Alan do two home inspections for me in 2022. Both times he did an excellent job. He really cares about his work. The first home I had him inspect was 40-50 years old and I asked him about using thermal imaging camera on the windows to see if they were leaky. He mentioned that he wasn't certified for that. He found enough issues with the property that I decided not to move forward as it was more work than I wanted to take on. A month or so later I had him inspect the home I ended up purchasing. He mentioned that in the interim he went to classes to get certified for thermal imaging. This shows his dedication to providing customers with the best service possible. Alan did an amazing job on both inspections and I truly felt peace of mind (both in passing up the first home and purchasing the second).

Integrity is bar none ! Quality is top notch, would recommend to anyone that is looking for a professional home inspection! Hands down the best in West Georgia!!

Alan Jones inspected the home that I eventually closed on. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and as a perfectionist myself I valued how he was meticulous in the details. I have heard more horror stories about home inspectors than I have good ones... Alan did a great job with the home inspection. I was running a little late so he got started without me. As soon as i got there he introduced himself and explained the whole process. He continued to inspect the house and showed me everything he found and tops to fixing them if needed. Once inside he did the same thing. He even showed me a few things that wouldn’t be on the inspection report but should be done once we move in. Overall he was very professional and thorough with the inspection. I would highly recommend him.

Alan is a knowledgeable and thorough inspector. He is not an alarmist and will tell you honestly and truthfully the pros and cons of a home he is inspecting. The difference he provides is giving a summary of anything needing attention, but keeping it in real perspective. That way, you are amply informed to make good decisions, yet understanding the level of seriousness or non seriousness of each item identified. He is also personable, friendly, approachable, efficient and professional. I would recommend him to anyone.

We used piece of mind home inspections for our home inspection prior to purchasing and Alan was great. He was professional, thorough, and very easy to work with. Mr. Jones was recommended by my realtor for my home inspection. He was able to get me on his schedule quickly (even though it was the week of Thanksgiving!). He was prompt and polite. He took the time to not only go over the results of the inspection with me but to answer a lot of questions I had too. My report was ready the very next morning. It was simple enough for me to understand and because of how concise he was in the report about what was a safety issue or code violation I had no problem getting everything I asked for fixed.

My partner and I are purchasing a home from out of state and was nervous about not seeing the place for ourselves before we moved in, but Piece of Mind helped give us peace of mind. Alan, who was our general inspector, is very professional and has great attention to detail. We sent him and our agent a list of concerns we had that we couldn't verify during the virtual tour, and he took a good look at the appliances we were not sure of. Within the same day, he sent us a detailed report of his observations and findings with photos. He answered our questions in a video call later that evening and was happy to share his knowledge and answer all our questions.

The report is impressive and clearly identifies items that are a concern, should be repaired, could be improved, are a possible safety issue, or should be monitored. Photos are taken for all areas observed. Some photos are too small to see details so we requested specific photos (e.g., water staining) in the original file size, which he sent almost immediately. Concerns in the photo are clearly marked, which I found especially helpful as someone who was unable to see the home myself. Not only do I feel confident about the good condition of the home, but I also have a good idea about what maintenance items are likely to come up in the next few years. The report even includes a general list of estimates for repair costs.

Pros: detailed general inspection report; very responsive via email; happy to answer questions and explain; no issue working with out-of-state buyers
Cons: photos staining and cracking are hard to see in inspection report; Zoom connection struggles lol
