This is unfortunately my second catastrophic water damage incident, and this mitigation experience went so much more smoothly than I had with a different company in 2019. Dustin was out to evaluate within an hour of getting the assignment from my insurance company, and Ryan had Manny and another crew member (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) out here within 2 days to start drying things out. They did an amazing job, and Ryan kept in contact the whole time about timeline, next steps, and what I needed to do regarding the rebuild. Hoping the rebuilding of my bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen go just as smoothly!

Outstanding Experience with Trent and His Team – Truly Above and Beyond!

Working with Trent and his team was an amazing experience from start to finish. We initially had a mishap with the water removal process. ServiceMaster by JTS was brought in for the dry-out phase. They set up dehumidifiers and large fans and informed us that some drywall and flooring would need to be removed, and that fans should also be placed under the house. While they did set up the interior equipment, they never actually went under the house as needed.

When Trent and his cabinet maker arrived to move forward with the next steps, I asked them if they were handling the drywall and floor removal. Trent asked about under the house. That’s when I told Trent we didn’t think they went under the house. One of Trent’s team members went under the house, poked a hole in the vapor barrier, and water started pouring out like a faucet—it was completely saturated.

They immediately recommended we inspect and dry the area properly before continuing. At that point, I decided not to bring ServiceMaster back due to their incomplete and careless work. I wanted Trent and his team to handle everything because they showed real care, professionalism, and integrity from the beginning.

After discovering the job had not been completed properly, ServiceMaster called to reschedule, but I informed them we already had a team addressing the issue. The representative simply hung up.

Unfortunately, because of the standing water left behind, we had to start the drying process all over again. Mold had already started to form, and it took another two weeks to dry everything out properly. It was incredibly frustrating, and it delayed everything. Paul Davis had to completely reschedule, and I’m sure that wasn’t easy with their busy calendar. But they made it work.

Trent and his team were on it right away. Every person who came out was kind, respectful, and hardworking. They consistently checked in to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. Trent truly went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and you can tell that he and his team genuinely care—not only about the quality of their work, but about the people they are helping.

I highly recommend Trent and his team to anyone in need of reconstruction or restoration services. They are the best—caring, trustworthy, and committed to doing the job right.

Who would think that a leaking dishwasher would cause the entire flooring in a home to be replaced, and the countertops removed and new, beautiful ones installed? Insurance helped cover the cost because a match for the continuous flooring could not be found to replace the damaged floor in the kitchen. The original countertop tile broke during removal and it, too, was irreplaceable.
The service through Paul Davis Restoration made living without a kitchen almost enjoyable! Each person who came to my home was professional, polite, courteous, friendly, and a skilled craft person who cleaned up the area they worked in thoroughly before leaving. The project manager kept the communication lines open, and checked on the progress both in person and via phone messages/conversations. Very impressive was the timeliness of the initial restoration when the floor needed to be pulled up and dried before determining the full extent of the damage.

I've had a horrible house nightmare problem and Paul Davis team came out to help with mold mitigation. Every worker has gone above and beyond, they've come out to visit and check on the progress multiple times just to make sure the job is done right. Received exceptional service from this company. We had active water damage in our living room and they quickly came out to start the water mitigation . We were kept informed in advance of every visit, what to expect during the visits and the workers were extremely prompt and professional. Paul Davis Restoration worked closely with our insurance company and did an excellent job with the repairs. They even matched the paint exactly even though the walls were painted several years ago. They truly went above and beyond and we would gladly work with them again.

It was great to have a reliable 24/7 company like Paul Davis show up with the knowledge skills and abilities to help at our time of need. After having a disagreement with the company, they went out of their way to make things right. I would recommend Paul Davis for your restoration needs.

I am so saddened to have to redact my previous review. After everything was said and done and we moved back into our home, we received a bill from Paul Davis for over 100k. Throughout the process, we made it clear that we wanted to avoid any out of pocket expenses, and were reassured by our project manager Palmer that everything would be done within the insurance estimate. That was not the case. The work that they did was outside of the estimate approved and now we are responsible for paying over 100k out of pocket. We were mislead by our team, the company and the people we trusted, and now have the financial burden and responsibility to pay this amount back. While I still hold gratitude for the labor and complex work it takes to manage such a project, I would not recommend Paul Davis to any family who may find themselves in need of a contractor.

Jordan and Spencer were very helpful during the entire renovation phase as well as afterwards in helping with some financial issues. The apartment looks beautiful and all of my neighbors are totally jealous! :-)

The drying mitigation was done very well and clean up after the ceilings were removed was amazing. I felt well taken care of by the work that was completed.

On Dec. 27, 2024, the contractor for our sewer company bypassed a 4 inch pipe with a 2 inch pipe. This caused our 3 bathrooms to be filled with raw sewage. It was declared a category 3 raw sewage disaster. We had to evacuate our home, because the sewage had penetrated the drywall half way up the walls and sub-flooring in all 3 bathrooms. Paul Davis Restoration was recommended to us to do the entire project, from mitigation and clean up to restoration of our home. The people at Paul Davis Restoration were amazing! Everyone who worked on the different parts of the project were extremely professional, polite, worked quickly, and flawlessly to get us back into our home as soon as possible. We were out of our home for 69 days, when the team got one bathroom finished and working, so that we could move back into our home. They finished the other 2 bathrooms in 8 days, including the new stone tile in our ensuite bathroom. No one would guess by looking at our bathrooms now, that everything had been destroyed by or covered in sewage; walls, floors, showers, tub, sink pedestals , and toilets. We would not wish this situation of anyone else! If something disastrous does happen to your home, we can not recommend Paul Davis Restoration highly enough to do the job they did for us justice. We are extremely happy with the results. They stayed in contact with us all alone the way, every decision was confirmed by us and met our standards as well as their standards. They made sure that we understood everything that was going on, why things were being done, and the codes that needed to be met. If anything happens to our home in the future, we will be calling Paul Davis Restoration of Portland/Vancouver to repair and restore our home! When my elderly mother's floors were damaged by a water leak, I had visions of a nightmarish process of dealing with multiple departments at her insurance company and various contractors to mitigate and restore her house. However, we selected Paul Davis Restoration Northwest as our contractor and discovered they would help us navigate the entire process. From mitigating the water damage to removing contents from the house and installing the new flooring, Paul Davis handled it all! They coordinated with the insurance company and got all claims approved. And, their employees treated my mother and her home with great respect. Solid selling of services and a start to having a kitchen, but almost no work or progress towards having a place to prepare food has occurred since they started in November. They are nice folk and skilled at saying what a customer wants to hear, but the words have yet to become action. Sad panda! Will update review if this changes.

Everyone at Paul Davis PDX/Vancouver has been exceptional in the initial phase of our water damage rebuild that effected most of the interior of our 4 story townhome. From our on-site Large Loss Managers "Jeff & Brett", Customer Experience Coordinator "Olivia" to the onsite teardown team "Willie, Rene, Ismael & Kevin" all have been "5" stars in their onsite and behind the scenes execution. More updates to follow as the rebuild proceeds.

We had multiple items end up missing and they have no record of these things. Plus someone stole are new washing machine and they tried to say someone must of broke into our house . They work slow maybe at house 2 days in a couple of weeks they are all ready a month behind s schedule .

I am extremely pleased with my experience. Paul Davis was at my house within three hours, after calling my insurance agent regarding a flood in my guest bathroom, kitchen, hall, and basement. They had fans and dehumidifiers going in all the affected areas. The demolition team was also exceptional. I will recommend Paul Davis Restoration to anyone needing this type of service. Thank you!

Quick response great people. They had to do a lot of work in our master bath. They arrived with big fans to help the drying of the spill area, then once they got the adjuster okay to repair they went after it full speed. Paul Davis workers showed true care about our situation. This is one company that keeps you updated on each step they take with their assurances that they would get the total situation rectified and they made the process of total repair possible. Very big on customer communications with update, etc. I will use them for other things in the future for sure.

Jeff and Tony are actual life savers. They worked with my home insurance for me and always went above and beyond to help my family. Best restoration people around! I would recommend Paul Davis to anyone!

After some washing machine related flood damage, PD was the contractor chosen/assigned to my project by the insurance process.

Pros: They provided a very professional and detailed quote. The rework itself was well done when completed.

Cons: Communication wasn't the best and the relatively small job took a week and a half longer than expected. During the project we often had no idea who would be showing up and when they would arrive. I often had to be a squeaky wheel to get updates.

Lastly, the subcontractor sent by PD hadn't reviewed the project before he arrived and asked us multiple times to text the project manager for additional details. I printed out the quote for him. That's not professional and the subcontractor/contractor communication is 100% not my responsibility.

I would not use Paul Davis again. We had a water leak in our laundry room from a botched washing machine installation by Standard TV & Appliance. Paul Davis was recommended by Standard and did a good job with the demolition and drying of our laundry room. But when it came to the restoration process, the project manager they assigned was horrible. In his initial call, he said the work would start the next week and be done in no more than 8 days. It turns out he only scheduled the sheet rock repair and none of the other subcontractors and the job ended up taking over 2 months. There was absolutely no communication, no written schedule in spite of repeated requests and things did not get any better even after I reached out to his supervisors. The response I got from the supervisor was “he is new” or “that is too bad”. This was the theme for the rest of the job (which was very small). Even some of the subcontractors told us they would not work with this project manager again. Horrible, horrible project management. There was absolutely no follow up when the job was finally finished.
One other word of advice, make sure the insurance company sends you the money and not directly to Paul Davis. This is what we did and are so glad. We performed some of the work ourselves and at the end of the job, Paul Davis has never responded to our final accounting. I finally just sent a check for what I calculated was due. If the money had gone to them, I would be fighting forever for a refund.

Beware - This company bullies people into working with them. The insurance asked them to come give a 2nd bid on water damage in the wall. They did an incomplete bid with wrong information and my mom had to end up sending in pictures because the person who came out did not get them all. We told them up front we had another contractor to do the work. He did not like that answer and tried to Bully my mom into signing a contract with him. When she refused after hanging up on him over and over, he sent her a bill for the bid that we never asked for instead of sending it to the insurance. From what I can see with the reviews, the honest ones that were not paid for, this seems to be there MO. I would not work with a Bully like this and I hope this will help someone to know they can say no.

Paul Davis did the mitigation and restoration of our kitchen when our dishwasher leaked under our cabinetry. I could not have been more satisfied with their work. Every Paul Davis employee I came into contact with along the way was positive, approachable and helped us get answers to our questions or took action when needed. Trent Snead was our rock star project manager, held our hand every step of the way and provided peace of mind with our insurance debacle. He has a great vision and held down so many details at once seeing our project through to the end. What a beautiful result! I do not know where we'd be without him. I'm very thankful we called Paul Davis in our time of need.

It has now been 5 months since our kitchen was completed. I want to hop on here to compliment my project manager, Trent Snead and the Paul Davis team on their patient and tedious work negotiating with our insurance company. Dealing with the insurance end for this claim was extremely difficult. After agreeing to pay for the full restoration, our insurance company backpedaled at the six month mark. The details are too many, but what needs to be said is that Paul Davis took the stress of dealing with the adjustor off of my plate. When the insurance company continued to call me and dig their heels in, refusing to budge on their low settlement, I was getting nowhere and feeling quite stressed. When tensions were high, my amazing project manager, Trent Snead, reassured me all would work out and took over all correspondence with the adjuster, working as my "agent." This was a great relief to me. As a homeowner, I don't know the process, nor the terms of engagement for negotiating a claim. It took Paul Davis many months of waiting, patiently checking in with the adjustor, listening to what insurance believed to be fair, considering it and then respectfully countering. I appreciated the fact that everywhere I observed, Paul Davis operated with integrity and fairness, never getting "ugly" in the details. I highly recommend Trend Snead and the Paul Davis team for your home mitigation and restoration projects! THANK YOU AGAIN Trent Snead and Paul Davis, I feel lighter, beginning a new year with all the ends finally tied up neatly, a beautiful kitchen to enjoy and gratefulness for the friendliness, approachability and the integrity of all of your staff!
