I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paola Martinez and her team at Olamar Interiors for over 15 years. As a kitchen designer who partners with interior designers on many projects, I can say with confidence that Paola stands out in all the best ways. Her team is incredibly detail-oriented, thoughtful in their planning, and always focused on function as well as style.

From maximizing storage to ensuring every element is considered upfront, their process helps prevent costly mistakes and keeps installations running smoothly. When Olamar Interiors is involved, we know the project is set up for success. I highly recommend Paola and her team — they are a true asset to any design collaboration.

I have worked with several designers over the years, and Paola was the easiest to work with.
She understood my style from the first appointment and made the process fun.

I started working with Paola while still in the architectural phase of building my home in Arlington. She attended every appointment with the contractor's design team and helped me pick out all of my finishes. From there we worked on the furniture, window treatments, art, accessories and more.

I have always wanted to build a custom home. We are finishing the last details, and I am sorry to see my time with Paola and her team end. My home is beautiful, comfortable and everything I imagined.

Thank you Paola for your expertise and guidance.

Paola has been the best to work with. What started as us seeking advice on our main bedroom, turned into her designing a whole new aesthetic for the bedroom and finding us contractors to put up wallpaper, paint, install lights and hang new current rods. Then the real fun began when we asked Paola to help us redesign our master bathroom. We'll add pictures here soon, but it was a stunning transformation. What we appreciated most about working with Paola was her openness to discuss options, give us feedback on our ideas, and help us stay on track for the vision we jointly created for our spaces. Also loved working with Carly on the Olamar Interiors team as our project lead who helped coordinate so many aspects of a fairly complicated bathroom remodel. Highly recommend!

If you're considering working with an interior design company, I highly recommend Olamar Interiors! We reached out to Olamar Interiors when we started building our custom home. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Paola really helped bring it all together. I can't even describe how amazing it was to have her support at the design studio. Paola knew her way around the studio which allowed me to just sit back while she pulled all the items. She was able to answer when I was asked about grout color, tile sizes, layouts, color patterns, etc...seriously, why are there a million things to select?! It truly made that process stress-free. Our build took almost 3 years (thank you wetland permits and COVID) and Paola and team were patient every step of the way. We continued with Olamar Interiors to furnish a few rooms and we are beyond happy with the final product. She selected furniture pieces that we would have never considered, and what do you know, they are now some of our most favorite items. Paola and her team were always available to answer questions and provide support. I can't thank them enough!!

We had a wonderful experience with working with Paola and her team! We used her for design/selections when building our home and for many of our interior spaces (furniture, accessories, rugs, and wallpaper) after building. Olamar Interiors brought all our visions to life! They listened and presented many options for us to choose from. They always listened to our wants and budget for various spaces. Paola and her team are responsive over email and were involved in all of our installations. We highly recommend Olamar Interiors and look forward to working with them on future home projects!

Paola has incredible vision and really wants to design a space around her client’s needs/wants. We began working with Paola a few years ago. She helped our contractor with the deign of our 1st floor reno. Our original floor plan had some awkward bump outs that we couldn’t really figure out how to incorporate it in our design. Paola came up with a beautiful and functional design that we cannot be happier about. Our new kitchen includes unique pieces that so much beauty to the design! You can see photos in her webpage (search Haymarket kitchen).

We asked Paola to help us pick out lighting, material choices for our kitchen, new artwork, furnishings, and accessories for the entire 1st floor. It’s everything we wanted and could nit have done it without her.

We are working with Paola again as we finish our basement and cannot wait to see the final result.

I highly recommend Paola for her vision, passion, attention to the client, focus on details that make such an impact and an overall lovely person to work with on any project.

Paola helped design our living spaces after buying a new home. I was overwhelmed by the amount of choices and decisions to make, while being worried it would not all coordinate room to room. Through the VIP Day Service Paola was able to help me clarify my vision, make a plan, and feel confident in my choices. It started with color consultation for all my paint and then moved to furnishing and room layout. I had the opportunity to execute the plan on my own timeframe and she was there for guidance as questions came up. It was the perfect level of support I needed, well worth the investment and I’m so thrilled on how it turned out!

We don't usually write reviews, especially negative ones, because we are aware that mistakes can happen with anyone, and that sometimes projects don't always go as planned, So we write this with an eye on fairness, but thought it was responsible to share our experience with this designer and her team.

We hired Olamar Interiors during the renovation phase of our new home. The project was broken down into 2 phases: Phase 1--tiles, light fixtures, etc. Hard surfaces that were to be installed during construction. This phase went great. We are really happy with all of the choices, and Paola worked well with the contractors. We encouraged her to have a meeting with our architect, and wrote him that we were very happy thus far,.

Phase 2 was to be interior design. This phase, sadly, went terribly. Many, many errors occurred (and have still not be resolved as I write this),. For example, we knew the exact sofas we wanted in the living room.. We sat on 30 or so couches and determined we wanted the Linger from Room and Board. Paola suggested that the one we wanted was slightly too large, and that she used a custom furniture designer that could make us the exact sofa with the changes in size that she was appropriate. It was double the cost of the sofa we had selected, but trusted her expertise and went ahed with the custom piece.

The couch that arrived was not the Linger at all, and, in fact, there is not a couch like it available in Room and Board. We called, she became incredibly defensive, pulled up the contract that we had to allow her to "fix it". The conversation was a terribly destructive one. She finally agreed to get us the couch we initially ordered and to refund the difference. But this was after much effort.

We decided to continue to work, because, well, mistakes can happen. Then came another series of errors--dining room chairs, the only requirement that they be "super comfortable" arrived. They look cool, but are certainly not comfortable. She posed a solution that just didn't look right (more padding in the seat, no where else), so we just kept them and will replace them eventually. Custom table to be used between couches was again, not what we ordered, and had black stain filling in worm holes, and the height was not what we suggested. That, too, had to go back and be reordered.

We continued working with her, however, and the last order is what put an end to our working relationship, although the matter is still not resolved. We ordered $8,000 roman shades for one of the guest bedrooms. The order arrived, and not only was it not the fabric we had ordered, they were not the right size. As she put it, it was total mess. We reordered them, and found out after the order that the fabric was on back-order, so we ordered again, and they arrived but hung about 3 inches away from the window, making the black-out fabric rather moot--Rob works nights and uses that bedroom for sleep during the daytime, which is why we ordered black out material.

Paola offered to refund the money, but we didn't feel it necessary for her to eat this expense without letting her try and resolve it. The installer came, removed half of the blinds weeks ago, and our guests arrive today with half of the window covered, and half with no treatments. And, the remote still has not been returned so we are unable to rise the blind that are lowered,

In any event, there have been far too many mistakes that Paola herself has recognized. We felt it to be fair to write a review about our experience.

We truly wish her only the best with her company and in the future. She has a really good talent, and we recognize that. The execution for us, and only during phase 2, though, has been incredibly disappointing.

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
