O'Donnell Ace Hardware

The best staffed retail store ever! And honestly, for a small hardware store that's extremely convenient, the prices are very competitive!! A lot of their stuff is priced the same as Lowe's, home depot, Menards, etc. and they can get pretty much anything that the big bowlx stores can get and usually in a day or two.

This store is always very attentive and helpful. They provide advice and instruction and really go above and beyond. I appreciate their expertise!

Lawnmower air filter is 13.67

Same filter at Menards is 7.99. Like $4.68 cents more?

They don’t let you price match, outside of their own Ace Hardware Online prices.

The above example reflects the majority of what they sell. Everything’s way more than Menards. Even Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Ace has been in cedar falls before I moved to the Neighboor hood, walking distance away for me, and they might outlive me, but I have no interest in paying, I believe a 40% markup!!!!

Wild.

I can come up with enough practical reasons to bundle up a trip to Menards with other errands to justify that drive to save 40% off my purchases instead of the convenience to walk to Ace from my house.

A very good. More than general purpose hardware store. Good selection of metric the English hardware. Lawn and garden tools. Make a good place to look for things for home repair.

We had the best experience going in to this store for help with a small home repair. The manager Jeremy was so helpful and kind and didn’t make us (2 women) feel stupid at all for not knowing what we needed.

Very helpful and happy to help. He led me right to the product what I needed and I didn't even have to look for it I gave him the number for the product that I was looking for and he picked it out himself. I have never had a problem at O'Donnell's Ace Hardware on 18th Street

Just needed one thing. Sales person took me to what I needed plus got it off the top shelf with a ladder.

If you’re looking for a true locally owned hardware store, Cedar Falls Ace True Value is the place! Keys, hardware, gardening, you name it. They’ve got it, or their extremely helpful staff will take you right to the product you’re looking for. Shout out to Garrett for helping me in the key department and Max for a wonderful and quick checkout experience.

Staff was professional, knew what product to recommend. We're extremely helpful when my car broke down right in front of the store, emptying the transmission fluid on their parking lot. I truly appreciate their kindness!! Oh, and they do repair lamps!!

Horrible customer service! Everyone looked the other way when I went to walk up to them. Nobody greeted me at all. When I tried to talk to the old looking man behind the counter he ignored me and wouldn’t give me a back for my items. I would recommend going literally anywhere else!

I was there looking to purchase a tool set. While shopping I looked online to see reviews on the tool set as I was concerned about the quality. In searching review info I noticed the price was $50 less. I asked the associate if they did any price matching and she said buy it on Amazon in a rather rude tone and walked away. I understand the answer is no, I just thought a more professional response could have been provided. I shop here often and I usually know prices are higher, however I choose to shop local when I can. I will reconsider shopping here next time I’m in the area.

Excellent place to do business. Locally owned with a helpful staff. One of the last places that sharpen knives and has Turkey Brine in stock. I truly hope this place never closes!

I always have great customer service here but just had SUCH a good experience I had to review. My car key battery needed replaced and it was very tricky to remove. They looked up a video and removed it for me and were very careful in the process, and so friendly the whole time! It was overall a quick and easy thing but they made me feel genuinely cared for in the process. Highly recommend!

Centrally located in town and a good source for all the things you might need for a project or repair. Staff is always helpful.

Stopped in for some screws, staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Store is a little small and cramped but in all it was easy to locate items.

Tiny big box store. Customer service is basic response until you’re tired of calling for answers. Minimal knowledge on stihl products they sell. Take your money to a more reputable dealer & go to sled shed. Hands down great customer service at this stihl dealer. Spend $300 bucks at O’Donnell ace you may have to wait 4 weeks for them to figure out how to repair your brand new stihl product. They get one star for atleast knowing how to answer the phone.

I have never experienced customer service even close to as good at this place. Ace, please give Ken a raise because he did something 4 places couldn’t do or help with. He grinded a screw down and punched it out and then attached a handle to the piece for my spigot. It works good as new. I have never met Ken before this, but Ace, you have a fantastic employee and person. Ace has my business from here on out.

Just as i would expect for a local hardware store. Have lots of things need for home improvement & lawn & garden. Is a little higher priced for the convenience.

We ordered a water dispenser from an online site. We also got a higher grade spigot, from another company. I needed to be able to adapt the spigot to the dispenser. Going here was the perfect solution. I got soft rubber gaskets that make the seal . $2.00 plus tax and I was ready to roll on with my project. Thanks Ace!

Walked into the door with one of my clients from work with a young women greeting us, asking if we needed help finding something, she took us to the isle and sent somebody in that department to us to help us better, she was very polite, kind and helpful.

Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of variety in options for a small hardware store. They cut keys quickly and have lots of other services as well.

Went in they told me a week on a window replacement calmed the same day for pick up!!. Friendly and great quality for window. Satisfied customer!! Thanks

Bigger more organized Ace, compared to others. Very helpful staff. Was offered suggestions by the different staff, all good and different suggestions.

The staff are always super friendly and quick to help you find what you are looking for. If you are not sure what you are looking for they will do their best to help guide you with you may need.

Their grilling section is good but I do wish they'd expand it a little.

This is a great old style hardware store. Their people are knowledgeable and provide excellent service. They fix windows, sharpen knives, and mix paint. They sell quality products.
