Nu Look Roofing, Siding, and Windows - Fairfax, VA

We had a great experience with NuLook. We replaced over 60 windows at our house recently. They were engaging and helpful through the sales process. Their installation crews were fantastic, especially their team leads who were great at letting us know what was going on and taking care of the house throughout the two day process. Following installation we had a couple of necessary follow-up items and they were great at quickly scheduling and resolving. Overall we were very pleased with our experience with the NuLook team and would highly recommend them.

Shawn Barrick did a great job! Getting the claim started was a bit cumbersome but otherwise happy with the results.

Terrible service after install. They take your money and run. No one picks up the phone when you call for service. After spending tens of thousands dollars on a new roof you would think it would be good for at least 25-30 years but i have had to call them for service on the roof multiple times in a year. Terrible craftsmanship, not to mention the amount of nails i found in the yard….. would put zero stars if possible.

After the storms and high winds in my area earlier this year, I noticed water on my front porch which was coming from behind the siding. Assuming roof damage, I called a roofing company advertising on a local radio station in Northern Virginia. The company informed me that they worked regularly with insurance companies for storm-related roof damages. However, when I tried to schedule an appointment for them to inspect my roof prior to my contacting my insurance company they informed me that they did not do inspections prior to a claim being filed; I told them I would look elsewhere.

I then called Nu Look Home Design, who agreed to send an inspector to my home the same week. The Nu Look inspector (Kevin) came to my home on time, went upon my roof, and conducted a very detailed roof inspection, complete with photographs of storm-damaged shingles on all major roof surfaces, chalk markings on all the damaged shingles (visible from the ground), and a complete written report with applicable Virginia building code references supporting the need for a completely new roof.

I was very impressed with the Nu Look report and immediately filed a claim with my insurance company, submitting the report as part of my claim. When my insurance company sent out their adjuster, Kevin came to my home as well, and accompanied the adjuster throughout his inspection and discussing each portion of the report with him. My insurance company approved the installation of a completely new roof, which Nu Look installed the following week.

Two days prior to the installation, the Nu Look foreman (Oscar) came to my house and explained the installation process to me. On the day of the actual installation, the Nu Look crew showed up on time and Oscar came with them to ensure the installation got started on time and that all the crew members understood their assigned tasks. The crew was very friendly, efficient, and cleaned up their work area as they went. The installation was completed in the early afternoon the same day and my family and I were totally impressed with the Nu Look work.

I shared my experience with my neighbors and two of them also reached out to Nu Look and had similar results to mine. All-in-all, Nu Look did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone. They are my roofing company of choice from here on out! Richard H.

Nu Look installed Alside windows in our house in 2016, and they did an excellent job. The windows came with a lifetime guarantee. We were happy with the price and the company, and the windows have worked great. Recently, 2024, we had some issues with a couple of the windows in the bedrooms, and the large windows in the living room. On two separate occasions Shawn Barrick with Nu Look came to the house, inspected each window, identified the problem with each, and took pictures to use when filing the warranty claim. Katelyn Coven, the service rep with Nu Look, provided the exact process to go through to make the claim with Alside, and was always available for any questions. The claims were approved to replace 2 bedroom window sashes and 4 living room sashes. Shawn came out twice to do the installations, and was fantastic to work with. He does excellent work. We are very pleased with Nu Look, Alside, and especially Shawn and Katelyn. They have both provided fantastic service.

NuLook professionals at every level and touch point were responsive, professional, and courteous. My team was Robert, Yvonne, Oscar, and the whole crew that was on-site on the install day doing all of the hard work. The team did an excellent job of picking up all of the junk and I haven’t found a single piece of old roof or any nails, etc. I would definitely hire them again. I never pride reviews or do surveys but I made an exception since they w did such good work!

Nu look was great company to deal with. The price was spot on. They completed the job very quickly and cleanly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs roof replacement.

Would give ZERO stars if it was an option. Ignore their flashy website and barrage of radio ads. Do NOT waste your time!!!

Customer service is TERRIBLE! Schedulers and customer service reps answering the web/texts do not communicate well with each other. I experienced multiple text strings from different numbers asking follow up questions about my home and scheduling availability - Not a problem EXCEPT that Nu Look wasn’t tracking the multiple conversations strings. It took me more than a day to schedule a roof inspection and when I called to confirm an appointment that I agreed to via text - there was nothing in the dispatch system reflecting my appointment.

When I finally did get an appointment, the roofing inspector called first thing on the day of the appointment because my NoVA location would be “challenging” to reach since their other appointments for the day were in DC/Arlington. Rather than ask for my availability and whether a late arrival was ok - they made it sound like coming out to the Dulles vicinity was an inconvenience. Then their supervisor reached me via text saying “high winds” necessitated a reschedule. Safety is paramount, but on the heels of a call to reschedule based on travel time, it came across as disingenuous.

Nu Look could only offer mid-morning and early afternoon appointments - hardly convenient for a working individual. After wasting a Saturday and a weekday for appointments that didn’t get cancelled by Nu Look until the day of, I had no more time to waste with Nu Look.

Recommend finding your local roofer who is responsive to your needs and area. Nu Look is clearly too big to be bothered.

Didn't end up going with Nu Look because I already had an executed contract elsewhere however I do regret going through the other company. Nu Look was much more communicative and followed up twice. Would highly recommend based on other friends that have had work along with their solid reviews through many platforms.

Nu Look is an outstanding company. Based on their initial observations, they professionally evaluated my damaged roof, invited an independent appraiser to confirm the damage, and then thoroughly explained steps in the process, including extensive “aerial” images of my roof.

After providing several choices for replacement shingles (and other re-roofing components), they submitted the contract cost to our insurer who, after minor adjustments to the estimate, quickly agreed with the final cost, and authorized the proposed work.

The actual removal of the old shingles and replacement with the new ones we had selected, was amazing to behold. For example, they took extreme care to protect all trees and shrubs from damage, working like a professional, well-coordinated team. The whole replacement took about 6 hours, including an extremely thorough cleanup and removal of all construction debris. They even thoroughly cleaned our 5 skylights!!

I'm not one to leave reviews for businesses I haven't worked with, but this is a weird one. I spoke to a rep this morning to book an appointment. He said "our records indicate Name Name also lives there" - yeah, that's my wife. I was told it was a "deal breaker" that my wife was not going to be available for the quote. I am ready to buy a roof! That was the end of the conversation. "Deal breaker." My wife has no interest in learning about roofing products and she's busy running her company! I would have emailed this feedback directly to mgmt but there are no email addresses available on the website. So, make sure your spouse is available if you want a quote from Nu Look!

We had a leak in our roof and contacted Nu Look. They came out promptly, inspected the roof, identified some wind damage, and assisted us in getting a claim submitted and approved by our insurance company. Once we received the approval, they installed the new roof within two weeks and left the yard as neat as it was before they started.

NuLook Roofing provided a great service at all touchpoints. Our first interaction was with a most knowledgeable informative Sales Rep who spent the time to educate us on our roof and all the options that were available. With this we were able to make educated decisions about what we wanted and how we wanted it done.

The support staff, led by Yvonne, were excellent. Yvonne was always available to provide information, updates on appointments, and walkthroughs as to the expected processes. She communicated clearly and always ensured we understood all she communicated.

Delivery of our materials were as scheduled and the driver was very professional and very safe in operating the machinery while doing the delivery. Our project was overseen by Oscar who did a fabulous job managing his three Teams who finalized the project leaving us a brand new roof and absolutely no evidence of the old roof or any debris from that work.

Our home is absolutely beautiful with its new roof, new trims, and new gutters.... it has a Nulook!!!!

Nu Look is an EXCELLENT company to deal with. From Robert providing an estimate to Patrick helping us pick out materials, to Gustavo and his team installing - very professional. We had wind damage that messed up our roof and siding. Nu Look took care of both projects. I am very impressed with their punctuality, communication, pricing and quality work!

Our initial estimate with Nu Look and their sales rep, Michael Summers, was nothing short of excellent. It is obvious that Nu Look, and their employees, take pride in providing honest and quality service. We are very excited get our new siding put up.

Worked with a salesperson to develop an estimate the details of a roof replacement under consideration. The salesperson arrived promptly at the agreed time. They performed exterior measurements and inspection of the roof in question, including from inside the attic. The presentation included discussion of the installation details, supported by samples of material for each of the presented options. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about the specific details and methods used and how they contributed to a quality roofing product. The presentation was not rushed and our questions were thoroughly considered and well answered. When the cost estimates were presented, comparisons to regional and national averages were included. Ultimately, we feel that sufficient price options were presented that, when coupled with the installation and warranty details, made us comfortable with moving forward without a hard-sell approach.

I had my roof and gutters replaced by NuLook and was very happy with it until I received some storm damage and asked for a quote to repair. I was able to leave a msg with my issue, Travis called me and scheduled an estimate, somebody came by my house and conducted the inspection. Received a call back about a week later from Travis with some follow up questions and have not heard back since. This was over 2months ago. I also asked for a quote to replace my siding and still nothing. I have called back several times and left messages but nobody returns my call. If this is how things are once you're a customer, I don't think I will be using NuLook with future work I will want to do on my house. Very disappointed!

Mike came, on a Saturday, not only was happy to see us but also provided very informative knowledge about the product that we are getting. Mike is very knowledgeable at what he does.
Ron is a very experienced employee who Nu Look has. He noticed the discrepancy after only five minutes arriving to perform the final inspection prior to the installation. He notified us the difference of what we have mistakenly ordered versus what we current have. He made the appropriate changes on the spot.
Then comes the installation day. We were advised the crew would arrived between 7 and 9AM. It is forecast to rain in the early evening. Somehow the project manager, Gustavo, understood the same concern that we have, a crew of seven was dispatched to the work site at 6:30AM. This sense of urgency is extraordinary!
Gustavo is on site to address all the minor concerns that we have. His follow through skill has earned the respect from the crew he calls "The Best". They perform the requested tasks immediately.
Omar is the lead installer who not only stays busy throughout the day but makes sure his crew are productive and safe. He personally carried a whole full pallet of supply on his shoulders to a different, safer location from the driveway in order to get those onto the roof via an elevator while others are busy removing old roof.
We have a yard full of flowers. None was damaged because of the crew's exceptional care.
In the end, we have a NEW ROOF and zero issue!

I will be honest, my experience with NuLook started off rocky. From pushy sales tactics, non consultative approaches to selling (basically just took pictures and never actually determined IF I needed a new roof but only that they were going to sell me one) to continued calls after a contract was cancelled, I was ready to move on and not work with them at all. However, they then sent out Jay (Jared). He worked with us and our insurance company to replace a roof that had seen some storm damage. Jay was straight forward, honest, professional and helpful in answering all of our concerns about the process. Honestly, I’d recommend him to any and everyone, not just because he saved us money, but because he worked WITH us throughout the whole process and made it as painless as possible. He saved the contract for NuLook and helped us get a new roof. Honestly, if your wondering if you need a new roof, I would call them and ask specifically for him

It was getting time to replace our 22 year old roof and after hearing about NU Look on the radio called for an estimate. Worked with Nu Look Home Design to have our aging roof replaced. Been hearing the advertisement for Nu Look on WMAL for many years and decided to call them and take advantage of the deals they talk about. Worked with a very helpful and cheerful scheduler (I think it was Jamie) who helped get us scheduled for an estimate. Sam showed up at our house on-time and was extremely polite and kind from the beginning. He spent a few minutes outside handling the measurements then we sat down for a company and product overview. Sam was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. Did a good job explaining our options and was patient and responsive to several questions. In the end we were able to agree on a price that worked for all involved and look forward to the work they’ll do and will update this review accordingly.

Andrew arrived on time and first took pictures of our home's roof lines to create an accurate estimate for our roof replacement. He wore shoe coverings, and was fully masked and careful to socially distance even while delivering hi presentation. We were impressed by both his knowledge of the roofing industry, products, and services, as well as his professional demeanor. He understood that a new roof is a major investment for us, so he patiently answered all our questions. He never pressured us, but instead helped us get the high quality roofing system we wanted at a cost that we were comfortable with. We confidently recommend Nu Look and Andrew for roofing projects, but also would definitely consider Nu Look for other services as well!

One year later edit: We’ve now had our new roof for one year and so happy we went with Nu Look. Andrew was a great consultant for Nu Look. I was in the market for a new roof. Andrew was very knowledgeable, fully explained the roofing process, and answered all my questions with a no-pressure attitude. I called them to get a bid... during the info gathering, the person on the phone was willing to set up the in-person estimate right away. Then they said "I see another person listed as the co-homeowner - looks like it's your wife." That was a bit invasive! They insisted that she be present at the time of the in-person estimate. But she was unavailable for several days. They would not schedule the estimate unless both of us could be present. I responded that would not be necessary for me to make a decision on which contractor I will work with, but they persisted. I said "If you're not going to work with me on this, then I think I'll need to look for another contractor." The NuLook person responded "I guess you will." I hung up. Found three other vendors that same day.
After checking other reviews, it seems like their sales practice is to pressure the homeowners into signing the contract at the time of the estimate. And with both people present, you can't say "let me talk it over with the wife/partner."
Not saying they do a bad job, just that's their sales strategy.

A quality product….. would highly recommend ! Andrew was very knowledgeable and able to explain the service and process in an easy and understanding way He answered all questions thoroughly Andrew did not pressure to complete a deal but let the information on the product and company speak for itself.

After getting 4 estimates for repairing my roof and replacing my gutters, decided to go with Nu Look Home Design. While they were not the lowest bid, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship, which is all backed up by the fact that they are an Owens Corning Platinum Partner and all materials and workmanship are backed up by the Owens Corning Platinum Protection Warranty. The other factor that swayed me to go with Nu Look Home Design, was that their quote was more more detailed than the other roofing company's bids. Also, during the process of deciding to go with Nu Look Home Design, I commend Christian Smith for really going the extra mile, and then some, to answer all of my questions and being available, even on holidays and weekends. Even after signing the contract, Christian stayed on top of everything, from keeping me informed on scheduling for the roofing and gutter installation, to the scheduling of the attic insulation. Finally, all of the work was done on schedule, and on time, with no surprises! The quality of work and the installation teams commitment was amazing and even with a total roof and gutter replacement, there was no debris laying around after the work was done. After my experience with Nu Look Home Design, I will highly recommend them to all of my family and friends!

Probably one of the best decisions we've made with any home repair work we've done over the last 30 years. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and described all of the elements of the job including the warranties in great detail. Very professional company and exceptionally skilled workmanship. Replaced the entire roof in one day. Everyone on the team knew exactly what to do and when. Protected all of our plants around the house and thoroughly cleaned up the area.

We reached out to Nu Look to help us figure out how to proceed when our insurance only gave us a small amount to deal with hail damage. Nu Look identified and documented more damage and then helped us work through the appeal with our insurance company. Our insurance ended up paying for us to get a new roof and all new siding (bc our aluminum siding could not be matched).

Nick and Ron took good care of us from our initial contact and kept in touch throughout the whole project.

The Nu Look salesman was very professional and is completely knowledgeable in all aspects of roofing installation. He performed a detailed inspection of the attic and condition of the etire roof and plywood condition. He showed us.pictures of the water damaged areas. I believe we got a very good price for the value.
