We were tired of putting air conditioners in the windows every spring and taking them out every fall. We reached out to Northeast solar and decided to have a whole home mini split system installed. Max did all of the installation himself. He paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was set up to be aesthetically pleasing. We would highly recommend Max and Northeast Solar for anyone interested in mini splits.

I had Northeast Solar install 4 mini-splits in my home so that I could do all my heating an cooling with electricity. Northeast sent their HVAC technician (Max) to my home to review my situation. Max designed a system that would help me reach my goals. He later installed the mini-splits with great attention to detail and concern for asethetics. I would definitely recommend Northeast Solar to others who want to install mini-splits or heat pumps. Other companies I had tried did not have the HVAC design knowledge that Max had. Northeast also had the best price for the system I purchased. 5 stars justly deserved!

We used Northeast Solar for our solar panels 10 years ago and they were fantastic. This past month we used Northeast Solar for mini-split installation and once again the company was efficient, professional, and friendly. Max Childs installed our mini splits. Max was knowledgeable, professional and attentive. He answered all of questions in a timely manner. It was evident during and after the install that Max is an expert in his field.

I'm delighted with my new Custom Comfort air-source heat pump installation by Max Childs of Northeast Solar (NES) in Hatfield MA. I've used NES now for four projects: rooftop solar system; battery storage system connected to solar system; a one-zone heat pump system for one portion of my home, and now the latest project, the two-zone system which replaced an existing failing system. Max & company were remarkably responsive and easy to reach right from the beginning. I called for a quote in early February, and Max was onsite within a couple of days. He evaluated the old system, and talked with me about options. He went back to the office, did some research, and then followed up with a detailed recommendation and quote - within a day! We discussed by email over a few days - Max always getting back to me promptly. I made the decision and we agreed to do the install in late March to best fit my schedule. Max was onsite as promised on the installation day and worked diligently and carefully for most of the day. The results are outstanding. The new system has great features - more than the old system - and reused existing refrigerant and power lines. And the system was amazingly affordable once all rebates and credits are accounted for. The installation was performed with an artisan's attention to detail, form and fit. The system has been running flawlessly for several days now and I'm completely satisfied. I would strongly recommend NES and Max Childs to anyone looking to improve their home's HVAC with a modern heat pump system.

I got solar panels and mini splits from Northeast Solar and they were excellent with both projects. They were always able to take the time to answer questions and explain things to me. They were nice people who I felt comfortable and confident working with, and the equipment works great! I got them last year mid-summer and it’s wonderful this year, going into summer knowing I have air conditioning that’s quiet and I’m creating the energy needed for it with my solar panels! Heating with the mini splits definitely required a bit of learning to change my mindset about how to get the temperature I wanted, but I got used to it and I just love seeing my oil tank barely using any oil- just for hot water now ! Unlike companies that want you to lease ( so they can get the credits on the panels on your roof), Northeast is about what was best for my family, our home, our finances.

They were super prompt about every aspect of the process, and had us up and running before I knew it. If it weren't for delays between inspections ( which is beyond all of our control with towns sharing inspectors these days), it would have been even quicker.

Northeast Solar installed our 8.1Kw system in early 2023, and the process was fantastic. We initially met with Rusty, who helped explain the pros/cons of our location (we live at the base of a mountain which will affect shading), and also reviewed options/equipment/rates/savings, helping us "do the math" that everyone who installs a PV system should know. We then did our due diligence and contacted several other companies in the area for similar quotes, and were unimpressed with their level of knowledge compared to our initial experience with Northeast. After deciding to move forward with Northeast Solar, the installation process was easy and quick, with the crew even staying late one evening to ensure things were wrapped up on the second day. Since the system was powered on, we have been excited to see the savings and have used the software provided to spin up spreadsheets that help us visualize our payback in real time, and so far everything has exceeded our expectations. Do yourself a favor and give Northeast Solar a call if you are thinking about solar for your home.

We had our panels installed over 15 months ago by Northeast Solar and have not had any issues and have not had an electric bill since. After the first 6 months we built up a credit balance over $800 heading into the winter months. By springtime we still had a credit balance, that has now continued to increase. The panels themselves look great. There are no galvanized electrical conduit pipes showing on the roof or sides of the house, like other companies use. Highly satisfied. Great people to work with. Highly recommend using Northeast Solar.

Our solar project was easy from start to finish with Northeast solar. Tom came to our house for the initial site assessment. He gathered information and answered all of our questions. The racking and electrical crews were on time, happy, and efficient. They did high quality work with top of the line components, paying close attention to details. Northeast took care of all permitting and paperwork including following up when needed. They communicated with us regularly throughout the process, answered any questions we had, and checked in after the system was up and running for a few weeks. The system looks great!

Northeast Solar did a great job. Their design was thoughtful. Their price was very competitive and the installation went great. They helped make the finance process thru Umass Credit Union easy. I started evaluating options on the EnergySage website. There are a lots of steps in a solar installation and this clearly was not Northeast's first rodeo. They are "human scale": when you have questions, they are real easy to reach out to and get answers. We put in 22 solar panels and I believe that their technologies, which include the use of Enphase Micro-Inverters, sets us up for a solar system that is both efficient and reliable.

My husband and I have nothing but the highest praise for NORTHEAST SOLAR, from the very beginning when Andrew Cunningham sat at our kitchen table and clearly explained what to expect from the world of solar energy, through the timely and successful installation in early summer 2017. I chose Northeast Solar to install panels on my house a few years ago after looking into several companies. They were then, and continue to be, professional, responsible, and helpful to my understanding of the process providing me with options that allowed me to make an informed decision that was best for me. Those qualities have continued through the years as they held a presentation for a new product they were offering (battery storage) and most recently, in helping me to convert my production tracking from an outdated cell network to WiFi. That’s not a job they were required to do, but one they took responsibility for nonetheless. Northeast Solar has been nothing but a positive experience.

One of the best decisions we ever made concerning our home was having Northeast Solar install solar panels on our house. From the very first visit we found the staff to be helpful and easy to work with. The site review was obviously well done because our electric bills since the installation have been zero. The installation itself was done efficiently and the cleanup was meticulous. This was about seven years ago. I was referred to Northeast Solar by a co-worker on a good recommendation, and they sure lived up to that. Before I knew exactly what I wanted, I spoke to Tom Kelley on the phone who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, without any sort of pressure sales stuff. They sent a detailed plan (actually a few options) after analyzing my solar situation, and were quick to revise once I decided I wanted to go even bigger.

We love Northeast solar! We’ve had our roof panel system for five years now. We chose Northeast because of their long history with PV systems and their local service. The installation process was much more simple than I would have expected and they walked us through the steps to make sure we were getting our SREC payments too. Only once did we need any minor follow up service and they came out same day and took care of it quickly without charge. Our house was new when we bought it and the team did a great job helping us estimate how much we’d need to produce to cover our usage. They nailed it and in all this time I can count on one hand the number of months we just barely haven’t quite had enough credit to cover our usage.

They did a great job installing my solar and taking care of the SREC and Net Metering details. too bad battery prices are still so high or I'd be having them do that too.

We have been delighted with our solar installation done by Northeast Solar in 2019. It was a large project of 30 panels on our main barn and its adjacent ell. The roof on the ell needed some re-enforcement to hold the panels and we needed a 70 foot trench to connect the installation to our house electrical panel. We had 3 mini splits installed and Northeast helped us size our project to power these as well as covering our electric bill. The work crew and our contact person, Andrew, were professional and informed and provided guidance in all the complexities of rebates, tax incentives, and the details of the workings of the project. He remains our go to person if any questions arise.

We bought our solar array from Northeast Solar (Hatfield) as part of the Solarize Belchertown group. Beginning with our initial contact with Northeast Solar and throughout the installation, the process was easy and straight forward. Zach met with us to size the system and explain everything. He made it very easy to understand. NE Solar took care of all of the paperwork with National Grid and the SMART program. The installers (Chris and Jeff) were great workers and very respectful. They did a nice job of hiding the electrical conduits coming down the side of the house. We highly recommend them. Dave did the electrical work and did a nice clean job of running the wiring through the basement. The inspections were scheduled and done quickly. We were generating power much sooner than estimated. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Our solar system went "live" this past Friday and I need to say that this has been one of the best experiences I have had with any company. From the first informational meeting we attended through completion of the project, Northeast Solar communicated every step of the way. Questions were answered clearly, without tech-speak, their estimates were transparent, and we always knew when they would be on site and what they would be doing (especially appreciated during the COVID quarantine). They took care of all the permitting, inspections and communication with the state and the utility company, doing the leg work but keeping us apprised each step of the way. Northeast provided excellent service from quote to system startup. Interactions with sales, installers, and administrative staff were pleasant and prompt. All of my questions were answered, calls and e-mails returned promptly. They provided me with a honest answer, and never put their own interests before mine. One of the many highlights were that I was provided with updates during every step of the process- which can be confusing with permits, contracts, and rebates. Communication and details about when installers would arrive and what they needed was excellent and on time. I had Northeast Solar install an array on the roof of my house. I had been hoping to install solar for some time, but on their first site visit they told me I should not pursue solar because trees blocking the sunlight would not be efficient enough to make it worth the cost. I appreciated their honesty and called them back a year later when Gypsy moth caterpillars wiped out the oak trees shading my roof.

We had a great experience with Northeast Solar from start to finish. Design work was done during spring/summer 2018, and the arrays went live in mid-September 2018. All the work was done professionally, and there was very good communication and feedback with the Northeast Solar team. It is now late July 2019 and the system has been exceeding expectations. No problems at all, I haven't had to pay an electric bill since March, and I'm well on my way to being net zero energy consumption thanks to this PV system. When we were told that our old house was not structurally able to hold solar panels we thought, it was not meant to be. Then we met Zach of Northeast Solar who was tabling at an event. He explained that the company had completed a project involving solar panels mounted to a stand alone timber frame structure. We decided to go this route and add a patio underneath. For a reasonable price we got high quality panels, and are getting paid for the excess energy we are producing. We also love that Northeast Solar employees have installed several solar energy systems for non-profits and not charged for the labor.
