Plumbing restoration was fast. Will call Baun or Discount plumbing for all plumbing problems from now on.
Remodeling took exceedingly long time. I was charged for services that they did not do like: concrete pouring, that was covered by the plumbing restoration job. Also, I had another flooring company do the den, bathroom & laundry room floors. Thank you Floor Coverings LLC. Nickols also chaged me for shower glass doors installation, I didn't have a door on my shower. And most importantly there were several no call, no show appointments. I had to reach out to them constantly trying to find out whats going on.
I should have received some sort of discount & apologies for my time
Will not recommend Nichols for anything.

Nichols Inc. is a fantastic company to work with. I had a major leak under my house and they came right out quickly to assess the damage and determine what needed to be done. Jerry explained everything before they started and was very informative. Luke and his partners were all great, they explained everything, kept me up to date on the process and have done a great job. All that is left is for the insulation to be installed, once the crawl space is good and dry. And of course, I can not forget his exceptional office staff. They kept me up to date on everything. I would say a great team of good communicators. I would highly recommend this company for your water damage/restoration needs.

Quoted from other reviewers: “DO NOT do any type of business with this company. RUN AWAY! They do not communicate with you, they put off work for weeks and weeks without explanation.” In our case, they put off work for months. They charged 1000 SF work while they only did 800 SF.

I had a water heater leak in my house that damaged the floors and some walls. Jerry, the owner, came out initially and explained the process to me. He was very reassuring and responsive in helping with the insurance claim. Luke came out quickly to do estimates and get everything shipped off to insurance. Once I got the check from insurance to cover the cost and signed the contact with Nichols, that was the end of most of the communication. The job spanned out over 5 months and it was so difficult to get information. We requested to speak with Jerry directly on numerous occasions with issues and were always sent to a project manager or someone else. We never heard from him after signing the contract. The new floors look fine but the process could have been so much smoother. The entire situation was stressful as it was and having to call so many times for updates added to the stress. They were nice enough but I don’t know if I would use them again or recommend them to someone else.

They helped me with my first water loss. I did not know what I had to do since this was my first incident. The owner, Jerry Nichols, said he represented me when talking to insurance and he did just that. Took a while but that’s how it goes I suppose and he did a fine job. Thanks. Recommend and upstanding individuals

Thank God for Jerry and his crew at Nichols. They cleaned up and cut out moldy drywall caused by a pipe leaking in our crawl space at our place last week and were professional, on-time, clean and respectful of our home and left our house looking much better than before the leak happened. I am so happy and thankful to be living back in my den and enjoying my new space.

I used Nichols Inc. for both my mitigation and rebuild. The staff is very friendly and communicative. They helped me through all procedures of my claim and answered all of my questions (I don’t have a lot of experience with this). They helped me pick out my materials and even stayed on the phone with me while I was in the store.

The process took much longer than I thought it would and my materials arrived broken a few times, which was frustrating. However, I am extremely happy with the end result. I am relieved to have my house back. I would absolutely use this company again

I was referred to this company by a local plumbing company due to the water damage in my bathroom. Poor toilet installation from the previous owner.

I will never use Nichol’s again and will advise anyone to not use this company for any services if they are brought up. The only saving grace was Shana(sp?) at the front desk - she was very helpful and had great communication.

TLDR - bathroom was demo’d then Nichol’s later canceled the reconstruction due to it not being profitable for them. False advertising as to what they provide and will up charge you for the features you want installed. I am not working with insurance due to the cost of the repairs and fear of losing insurance coverage. This company is a joke and their processes are outdated. Currently stuck finding another contractor to finish THEIR job.

The owner, Jerry, was in my house explaining the process. The air during the conversation was a little condescending but I didn’t think too much of it because most companies have to assume you know nothing about what is being done. In reality, Jerry was letting his true colors shine.

They did the mold remediation. This work was completed at $1,200. The team was nice but left marks and scuffs on the wall without notifying me while I was home. Small house - it happens - but communication was lacking on that front.

Their truck stalled out on my property and was left for a full 24 hours. They left debris in my front yard, but that was an easy clean up. On top of that a contractor was sent out to do a moisture reading later in the process and even the contractor was confused as to why he was sent out considering the drying equipment had already been removed.

Their estimator came out to conduct his part of the process. During this visit I had mentioned I was looking to procure the replacement shower, vanity, and flooring. Then and there the estimator, Luke, should have discussed this with me. Instead I received an email, not a phone call, informing me of the cancellation of the their services.

This clearly doesn’t fit into their business model because they weren’t able to price gouge me on the hardware. The reason they told me they wanted to bring the equipment in on their own was to “inspect” it and to ensure all hardware as there and wasn’t damaged.

It doesn’t take a genius to procure your own hardware, especially if you have lite experience with any general contracting or plumbing.

The reason they do this is to over price their services on the contracts by “inspecting and storing” your hardware.

Do. Not. Recommend.

DO NOT do any type of business with this company. RUN AWAY! They do not communicate with you, they put off work for weeks and weeks without explanation. They send out subcontractors and do not do the work themselves. A two month project is now going into month SEVEN and it’s still not done! RUN!.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
