Jared was an absolute life saver on a tight schedule when we moved into our new home. He got done lots of painting, two storeys worth of wood flooring and partitioning of a big room to create two smaller rooms on a very limited schedule to make move in possible. More recently he has helped with a beautiful sauna in a tight space and some major bathroom upgrades that have turned out great. Very recommended.

I used MJ Toon to renovate a condo my parents owned for 45 years.

Jared was wonderful to work with: easy to communicate with and very responsive to my inquiries. Most importantly, his team did quality work. Jared provided great design recommendations that helped to keep costs down: painting kitchen cabinets (rather than replacing them), raising existing high-quality bathroom vanities to modern heights by crafting platforms for them to sit on rather than buying new vanities. He made terrific design recommendations that turned a tired old place in to a modern showcase. On top of that, he was a great guy! I HIGHLY recommend MJ Toon.

The work included, but was not limited to: painting the unit, removing old popcorn ceilings, installing beautiful first floor wood floors and upstairs carpeting; installing tile floors in the bathrooms; installing new granite kitchen and bathroom countertops, sinks, faucets and lights; installing subway tile in the kitchen, along with under-cabinet lighting. All done to the most professional standards.

Jared and crew did a fantastic job bringing our half finished home project to life. Before starting the project I connected with Jared's references who were very responsive and had extremely positive experiences with his work.

Other contractors didn't want to take this project on because the house was only partly finished and badly neglected. It was necessary to carefully determine what needed repair and finishing, and build an accurate bid. Jared did this successfully.

Jared took full ownership of the project from start to finish. He was a great listener and understood what we were trying to achieve (a quality build on a budget). Jared shared his perspective on things that would improve the house, but didn't try to convince us to use preferred contractors and materials.

Jared proved to be just the capable and trustworthy manager needed for this difficult job. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to work with Jared.

Jared took on a challenging job that others wouldn't touch. He corrected some long-standing issues and did it on time and on budget. He is also great to work with and super trustworthy. Wish all people in the trades had his integrity, quality, and personality.

We first became aware of and met Jared on move in day 3 years ago. The house we had purchased was not properly winterized and when the plumbers pressurized the potable water system all the plumbing between the first and second floor burst, flooding the kitchen and dining room and causing damage to all our balance valves in our showers. My real estate agent said she had a guy who was very responsive and good. We called Jared and company and they responded within the hour and had everything that was water damaged, torn out and drying by nightfall. Within a couple of days he had the damage repaired and we completed our move.
Since then, I have used MJ Toon Construction for replace and repair of my homes roof, emergency replacement of a failed well pump, framing and finishing a large bonus space over the garage, and most recently, they built a deck with stairs off that bonus space. We have many more projects planned in the coming years and will be calling Toon Construction when it’s time. In a nutshell, MJ Toon Construction is responsive, reliable, competitively priced, and provides a high quality product. I heartily recommend Jared and his people for your building and project needs.

M.J. Toon was a dialed experience. It was impressive how much Jared cared about the quality of the work. More importantly was the time spent prior to the project going over the best options to remodel our kitchen. The end result was more than we expected.

I have been in the area for over 50 years; built 2 houses and extensively renovated another. In my estimate, Jared is far and away the best contractor I have worked with in the Upper Valley.
The quality of his work is uniformly excellent, he has never (over more than 20 separate jobs) exceeded his estimates, and has been great about going back and forth over options, strategies or special issues associated with a particular job. MJ Toon Construction was a pleasure to work with. We had a half bath in our basement, which was unsightly and not very useful. This was our first time undertaking a complete room renovation, and we could not have worked with a better person. Jared took his time to walk through different design features, and how this would affect our budget and timeline. In the end, we created a beautiful and modern shower room. We will definitely work with Jared again and already have plans for the main bathroom :)

*update April 2025. Just had MJToon Construction back to replace roof shingles. Again, the price was competitive, the team was super professional, and the finish was excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough
