I was in and out of here very quick and in the 10 minutes I was in there, for my first visit to this location, I had 3 employees ask if I needed assistance and was able to direct me to each item I was looking for. The cashier was so friendly while actively trying to multi-task which I can appreciate and took no offense to at all. I appreciate their diligence and effort!

I walked in here today, looking for some help making keys and I wasn’t even acknowledged until after being there for 20 minutes. We asked if we can receive help over at the key station and they told me that they were all unfortunately busy. which is strange to me because the people that arrived before us were helped, and then the employee walked to the back of the shop nowhere to be found for 20 minutes. Thanks for the help Ace Hardware, I won’t bother coming back for any of my needs.

Tried renting a trailer from this Ace. They were unhelpful in person not knowing what or when equipment would be available. I ended up reserving an trailer online. When I arrived to pickup the contracted reservation they said the equipment was unavailable. They gave me no timeline of when one would be available. Disregarded my signed contract with them. Ended up having to go to another location and spend an extra 2 hours of total drive time.

We rented a U-Haul in another town to be dropped off at this location. The starting location gave us a truck without a full tank of gas and assured us that as long as we filled the tank up to the level which we received it we would not be charged. The attendant that inspected the vehicle marked the level incorrectly in the system and we ended up with a significant fuel charge. I’m a little disappointed that he couldn’t attempt to correct his mistake when I asked about it.

It's move-in weekend in a college town. It's hot, everyone is exhausted, and this is one of the very few UHaul outlets in Manhattan. That did not stop the staff at Midwest Ace Hardware from being absolutely professional, helpful, and understanding. They're amazing!!

A women working there made us cry she was so rude. We came to pick up a Uhaul, and had some complications, but we were trying to be patient and kind. She yelled at us, and belittled us. Our card was declined as they charged double what it said online, and she said "looks like you didn't save enough for this" loud enough everyone looked at us. This was just one example of being blatantly rude. Overall the worst experience I have had with customer service ever.

Came in to get a key cut for a 1980s Jeep and the manager told me it would cost $79 because it was a microchipped key. She obviously just didn’t want to do it. I’ve been going to ace hardware since I’ve been seven years old and this is by far the worst one.

Very rude staff I came in looking for advice on bolt removal and extractor and one of the employees was rude and said we aren't a free store and I told him I knew that he followed up saying people can't use tools and return I told him I didn't plan on would not recommend next time do better and work on your attitude sir

Shop there all the time. Just wish I had more money. And I wish they would lower the prices. But there's good customer service and that's all that matters

They said they could make a copy of my Volkswagen Jetta key but that they would have to order the key because they didn’t have it in stock. We paid up front and waited 2 weeks. When we went up to get they key and have it programmed they said it didn’t work and they could not order another one as it would just do the same thing. While I do appreciate getting my money back, I needed this key asap and decided to wait for ACE because they had the best price. Two weeks later and now I have to find somewhere else to take my business that can actually make the key that I still need asap. Guess you get what you pay for.

I have had the worst experience with customer service at this location. I am a rewards member and received a coupon and invite to the Ace Labor Day BBQ Party. I went to purchase a grill and they refused to take the coupon they sent me. Even though the coupon was only offering $12.50 off of a purchase over $75 ( with absolutely no text excluding grills from the coupon) which would make sense considering the coupon was sent within an email advertising your Labor Day grill sale!!. The grill I wanted to buy was $239 and I guess losing $12.50 on the purchase was too much for this store to handle. It is kinda crazy that you advertise grills and send coupons within the advertisement and then don't honor them, Jackie treated me like and child, completely embarrassing customer service performance. After asking her not to try to argue with me, she replied with, "I am not arguing, I am trying to help you comprehend the fact that I will not take that coupon." I was happy to take my money elsewhere and will never be returning to this store.

Ace Hardware carries A/C capacitors which is excellent since they are open on the weekends and somehow that is the only time capacitors go out. Its 100 degrees and Monday is a holiday so it was even more clutch. Ace Hardware, you are the real MVP!

Went to buy a 50-pound bag of sand. Went in to ask where it was, and the clerk pointed over her shoulder to the entryway, where I went to grab the sand. Given that there is no place to set the same, I stood for 10 minutes.

I feel that an attentive clerk would have pointed out the sand, rang up the sale, and then allowed me to just take the sand on my way out instead of sending me to get the sand so I could wait in line with it. Not a big deal, but it was an inconvenience that was unnecessary.

This store saved me from an ikea nightmare. During the moving process we lost a few pieces to a metal bed assembly and thankfully this particular ACE has a huge room full of bins dedicated to this.

Rented a UHaul and tow dolly for the first time and picked it up at Ace. Merv walked me through the whole process and definitely deserves employee of the month. Merv made what could've been a horrible day in the 100° heat into a seemless experience. 10/10 would recommend.

I was at Ace Hardware on Sunday, 7/24. My husband and I walked in store there was a line from the service desk to the door. I husband needed a part for our washer. He had been to the store the day before and was told the parts person, I believe named Terry would be in at 10:00 on Sunday. My husband went to the parts area, only to be told that Terry was busy at the service desk helping with UHaul rentals. After about 15 minutes my husband realized that he should probably stand in the long line to talk to Terry about the part he needed. I was looking around the store and decided to buy some plant food and check out cause my husband was still in line. The person checking out was a nice young man, but couldn't read. When he asked for my rewards number he pronounce GREG as George. I corrected him and he apologized saying he just mispronounced his name. I took the plant feed to the car and got my meter for blood sugar to get a battery for it since Greg was still in line and Ace had a battery station. When I paid out, the same young man asked me for my rewards number and looked at the name and called Greg, George again. I corrected him again. Meanwhile Greg is still waiting in line. There were at least 4 other employees supposedly working and took turns sometimes to help Terry with the customers in line. Greg was in line for at least 45 minutes. Once Terry was able to help him, the part that we needed was hanging on a shelf. Which means that Greg could of bought the part he needed on Saturday and we didn't need to come and wait 45 minutes in line to be told that by the parts guy. This store needs to cross train their employees and have have someone that can read at the check out counter. This was not a GOOD experience, it was very disappointing and frustrating!!!

"Merv" is one of the most frustrating and disrespectful people I've ever talked to in the people's service industry. It's as if he's scanning every detail of any conversation to nitpick and belittle you with his spectacular intelligence. His facade of professionalism is quickly overshadowed by quick, childish jabs; I caught less flack for word choice from English teachers. Either this, or he's mentally unwell as certain words caused him to become "confused" very easily. If you shop at this Ace, I highly recommend you avoid talking to "Merv," as he will quickly attempt to hijack conversation and thrust his superiority complex on you within the first few seconds. "Merv" is a true man-child who's maturity level unfortunately peaked at high-school.

We went in today feeling slightly bummed about a bad interaction with another store. The happy people at ace hardware ending up being extremely helpful and even managed to make us laugh. Amazing attitudes!!! Can’t wait to come back again!
