Alex and his team did major reconstruction/ preservation work in two chimneys from a pre-civil war house. They were timely, professional, thorough, great at communication, , and did beautiful work consistent with age of property. Chimneys were repaired, a new wooden stove was installed, and restoration of a 2nd chimney and fireplace were performed. 10/10 recommend.

Had a very good experience with Matt and Alex of Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat. They did a quality job and the work went smoothly and was as expected. Alex kept me informed during the process and answered my questions. I was happy with the results.

Alex and his co-worker arrived promptly at the time scheduled and worked throughout the day giving an update at the end of the day. They returned the following day to complete their work and cleaned up their work space. The chimney has a new crown, flue liner and cap and looks good. A job well done!

We got estimates from three companies to reline our flue for our wood stove. All three prices were in the same ballpark, however, I was impressed by Alex's knowledge, transparency and professionalism. He was the only one who mentioned that the flue bent around the upstairs firebox and that he may need to open the chimney from the outside to feed the pipe down the flue. This was the case in the end, but not a surprise thanks to Alex's communication. He did an expert patch of the chimney and you would never know it had been opened. The rest of the crew was courteous and professional also. A small adjustment was needed after the job was completed and Alex promptly corrected it. I would not hesitate to use Mid-Atlantic again.

We unfortunately did not have the most pleasant experience with Mid-Atlantic. After a $900 mistake on their end of misidentifying our chimney liner during inspection, they ended up giving us $100 off but still made us pay $800 for their mistake. Was told the quote would be adjusted to help cover more of this unforeseen expense and they ended up charging us even more than the original quote. Unprofessional and unaccommodating. Stay away if you can!

Starting with a very thorough inspection (with pics) of our two fireplaces and chimneys, Alex and Matt came and installed new chimney liners, refurbished the fireboxes and adding new chimney caps/dampers. They arrived as promised, kept up a good pace while being sure each step was as it should be, and left the place clean. Many thanks and we highly recommend.

I made an appointment for an inspection and cleaning. The day of the appointment, two hours after the scheduled appointment, they sent a message canceling the appointment and offering to reschedule in 2 weeks. They said someone on another job had an emergency so they pulled my scheduled technician to work on the other job. I said I understood the cancellation but I wanted them to make it up sooner. Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat recently rebuilt the deteriorated, exterior portion of an 80+ year old chimney that serves as a conduit for our wood stove. From the initial inspection to scheduling to doing the construction, this company's work is totally professional. They used high quality materials and matched the existing brick of our other, older chimneys as closely as possible. The project was completed efficiently and on the days scheduled. I would not hesitate to recommend Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat for any type of chimney maintenance or repair work.

I am happy to write this review and express my complete satisfaction with MAMH. For several reasons, they will be my go- to company for chimney repair and maintenance. First off , they are experts. Alex and Jason know their products and the process of repair. My particular chimney was in serious disrepair when I purchased my home and now after significant work, I feel completely safe using my wood burning stove. Alex was calm, polite, meticulous and determined to get the job done right. These guys are nice. I have encountered a certain indifference and even rudeness from other competitors . This was not the case with MAMH; at all times they were cordial and professional. Finally, I felt like I got value for for my money. Chimney products and chimney work is not cheap and with good reason. The wood stove and work surrounding its installation was worth every penny to me . Thank you MAMH !!

They came when they said they would. They did what they said they would. And the Tulikivi stove performed as they said it should. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Had my chimney cleaned and they found the remains of 5 birds. They were very efficient and mindful of keeping things clean. I had them order and install a screen to prevent more birds from entering. They were very courteous and professional. I will definitely use them again in the future.

We got a Tulikivi a few years back and we absolutely love it. Jason was great in the design process and Alex built it once we had the design ready. Getting the fire started is a very easy process. When it's finished burning, only a small amount of ashes remain. Very efficient. The soapstone stays hot 24 hours. Highly recommended!!!

The Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat team did a fantastic job on our chimney. Our 90 year old home needed repointing and a new chimney flue cap. Alex and Micah were great. They arrived right on time and set to work, replacing mortar and remaking the chimney top. Communication throughout the process was wonderful, with a call evening before to outline the work, and a summary of work at beginning and end of the day. Our new chimney top looks great and we were so glad we went with Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat. Price was what we expected for the work that needed to be done and happy to pay it to have it done correctly and in a very reasonable timeframe.

Two showed up to clean my wood stove--one to clean and one to get on the roof and inspect. All of the equipment that they used kept everything inside clean. I'm new to owning a wood stove and they answered all my questions, gave a thorough inspection of my old stove, as well as suggestions on what may need replacing and when.

We researched the chimney experts in the area to inspect the chimney of a home we had just purchased. We agreed on an upcoming date and they arrived right on time. The inspection involved using a camera on the inside of the flue and physically inspecting the chimney cap, brick work and firebox. We felt the inspection was thorough and resulted in an understanding of the the status and safety of our fireplace and chimney. Wow... great chimney cleaning experience. The stove is about a year old and so this was the first cleaning and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. Not only prompt but they called to be sure it was OK to come early...... seriously, how often does that happen?? Everything was kept clean, the work was done in an expert manner and the guys were personable and friendly. All my questions were not only answered but explained in an easy to understand manner. Definitely my go to business for next years cleaning! I don't hand out a lot of 5 stars ratings, but this one was surely earned!

Found Alex on the CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) website. He and his partner called to see if it was ok to arrive early (LOVE that!) on the day of our appointment. They spent about 1.5 hours working on two chimneys in our home. We are new to the house so didn't know what they would find. Alex climbed on the roof and checked the tops of the chimneys outside and took photos. Photos were also taken on the interiors. All photos were shared to my phone for our records. They laid tarps on the floors and ensured everything stayed clean and safe while they did their work cleaning. Recommendations were made from simple do it yourself fixes to professional suggestions for preventative maintenance. Both were polite, friendly, and happy to answer all my questions. Will definitely be using Mid-Atlantic when it's time to do a little maintenance as well as for our annual cleanings. Highly recommend them!
