The company caused mold damage to my house and ignores me after reporting the issue. Mastercraft Roofing replaced my roof a couple years ago and forgot to install the bathroom ventilation. I did not discover this until a contractor was doing some work on my house. It appears that Mastercraft Roofing just left the bathroom ventilating to the attic and caused some serious mold damage. I reached out to Jaime in a professional manner to report the issue and he said he would get back to me. It has been 5 days since my initial conversation and he ignoring my phone call, text, and email. It appears the company is not taking responsibility for their actions and at this point, if feels as if their warranty has no value.

We had a problem with the company that delivered the shingles to our steep roof. Jaime took care of the problem right away, and we couldn't be more happy with our beautiful roof. Highly recommended!

We've utilized Jaime and the crew at Mastercraft Roofing for a tree branch through shake roof repair, a new roof on our Seattle home and most recently a new roof on our Renton home. Once again, we are so pleased with the results. Jaime is a true professional: friendly, considerate, punctual, resourceful, a good communicator and passionate about his work (he was there on the roof working long hours with his crew every day).

He does his own (accurate) estimates too, so be patient with the process - you'll find he is trustworthy and a pleasure to work with! Thank you, Jamie.

I've recently hired Master Craft Roofing Company to repair my roof. The owner, Mr. Jaime, is an exceptionally nice and professional person. As soon as he got my call to come to inspect the issue, he stopped by my house and climbed into the attic to inspect the leaking issue. As he was investigating the issue, he found out that I not only had a leak issue, I also had a ventilation issue in the attic. That was why he was designing a plan to not only repair the issue but also to prevent the issue from happening again. His crew came early in the morning and worked tirelessly throughout the whole day under freezing temperature. His lead technician, Pedro, is well-beyond knowledgeable and extremely nice. Pedro and his crew opened the shingles and replaced the damaged plywood sheets and installed additional vents to tackle the leaking and the ventilation issue. One thing to stand out is that Master Craft Roofing uses good materials to replace the damaged ones. They use CDX plywood sheets and metal attic vents, and Jaime told me his materials will last many many many years, compared to the ones that the builder put it. (By the way, my roof is only 10 years old). I strongly recommend Master Craft Roofing Company to anyone who wants to have your roof repair or replace. Jaime is a nice guy to deal with.

We had some major leaking during a recent rain storm in early June of 2021. MasterCraft was subcontracted from ServiceMaster and was quick to come out on 6/6 and tarp some of our vents. Was very happy with our initial experience.
Getting them to come back out to remove the tarps and repair/replace the shingles has been an entirely different experience. Since then, I've called and left multiple messages (around 8 at last count) and have scheduled appointments on their online calendar 3 times. (got 1 call back to voicemail saying they were on vacation, for the other 2 no calls and didn't show up on the scheduled dates).
Really disappointed in the lack of follow up and I am now scrambling to find another company to come out and do the work.

We used MasterCraft Roofing for all of our roofing needs - tarping, inspection, repair, replacement. They are punctual, cost-friendly, and do quality work. They solve problems and are very easy to work with. I own a restoration company and Jaime and his crew are the best!

We had a complex roof issue and most of the roofers we spoke to really didn't know how to tackle it in order to mitigate the damage as well as stop the problem from continuing. We were so impressed with how meticulous Jaime and his crew were that we hired them to repair the water damaged wall as well as repaint the house after they replaced our roof. My roof looks great, but more importantly it functions better than it ever did.

We had MasterCraft Roofing install our roof and a couple of skylights on April 2018. A month after they were done, we tried contacting them because we had a concern with our skylight, but we couldn't get a hold of Jamie Hernandez, the owner. We called, we texted, we emailed, and left numerous messages about our concern. There is something visually wrong with the skylight, and the company says they guarantee their work, which sounds like a lie, because today, March 2019, we finally got to talk to him and he told us that if he sends someone to take a look at our skylight and nothing is wrong with it, then he will charge us $250. That is such bad customer service that I would NEVER recommend them to my family and friends. We're very disappointed with MasterCraft Roofing.

I can't speak about the quality of their work, but the level of responsiveness is regrettably horrible. Multiple promises were made to come an do a job, but a bigger job got in the way which is understandable. What is hard to understand is the fact that I have been put off multiple times with renewed promises of communication or when they were going to do the job. I have literally not been called one single time as promised.

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
