Martinek & Flynn Siding and Windows

I am taking time to do this review because of the outstanding work Martinek and Flynn Siding did for us. They were recommended to us by our Realtor in Topeka (whose opinion we highly respect) after we had to cancel two unreliable contractors in Lawrence. We were not disappointed and are glad we went with them!...The project involved installing gutters in our shop and in our house along with fixing some signs of exterior deterioration in the house. Darrell came out to our place promptly after we contacted him and provided us with a competitive/fair estimate. Darrell also suggested wrapping the fascia boards instead of painting them, which enhances their durability while keeping the good look of the home. It took them a little while to make it to our place due to our location, scheduling and weather, but when they finally came, they showed up on time (even a few minutes earlier) and completed the work promptly and thoroughly. The project took a day and a half to complete and the crew was professional and respectful in all their interactions. They were receptive to our concerns as they moved along with the project and fixed a couple of small details upon request (within the scope of the work), after we identified them during our walk-through inspection on day 1. For one of these details it took a little bit of insistence on my end, but since they did fix it (and acknowledged it had been a good call on our end) it's not worth discussing further. Not a major problem.

Also, when we considered a slight change to the scope of work once on site before they got started on day 1, Darrell gave us a fair price adjustment, and the overall cost was still better than that of their competitors. Their team was open to install our customer-provided rain chains, which were a good alternative to normal downspouts on the front of the house in areas where conventional downspouts may have changed the look. But even the regular downspouts that were installed, were placed in an inconspicuous manner and they look good. They also installed a small diverter to make sure the water from the roof would flow well into the gutters in an area of complex geometry. It's nice when a crew goes above and beyond through attention to detail!

When the job was finished, we were given a walk-through before the team departed. Everything had been done to specification. We were so pleased that we shared some baked goods with the crew and gave them a small, symbolic tip as a token of appreciation :).

In brief, Martinek & Flynn Siding and Windows did an excellent job as far as we can see. We are happy to recommend them without reservations based on our experience. Now we know who to call or whom to recommend if we (or anyone we know) ever need(s) a job of this kind. Well done, guys!.. Thank you all and God bless.

I've used Martinek & Flynn for a few home projects as well as a church siding repair & the work is always done very professionally & is top-notch. Brett & Fergal do an excellent job & are good guys. I'll be calling Martinek & Flynn again in the future as the projects never seem to end.

We had a great experience with Martinek & Flynn. Adam was super responsive and seriously patient as I went back and forth on my choices. Never felt rushed or pressured. They installed new windows, doors, gutters, Hardie siding, and cedar porch posts. Our house looks amazing! And they actually stuck to the timeline, even finishing the job a little early. That doesn’t happen often. The whole process was smooth and stress free from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I called Martinek and Flynn to wrap my garage door frame so I didn’t have to sand and paint it again. Within a week from my initial phone call, it was done! The price was very reasonable, and it looks amazing! I highly recommend the company.

Very responsive and professional. Reasonable pricing and nice people to work with. Unfortunately one of the crew called in sick and nobody showed up the scheduled day they were supposed to come.

I requested a quote on March 24th and did not receive one until April 7th after calling back 3 times for updates, each time being told that I'd hear back the next day. The response for quote I received was that my neighbors had nice siding and I should ask them for help since Martinek & Flynn wouldn't help me, exactly that after being strung along for weeks. They even called a wrong phone number that I have no idea where they obtained.
They'll waste your time, you'll have to keep calling to get anywhere with this company.

Martinek & Flynn has taken care of the siding on my father's home for many years. High winds recently damaged several pieces of 25+ year old siding, and they were able to get out quickly and make the necessary repairs at an affordable price. Martinek & Flynn does excellent work.

I needed some repairs to my gutters and facia boards that were rotted after having a roof done and they came out and did the work and cleaned up after themselves would highly recommend them to others thanks

Terrible customer service. Have some damaged siding needing replaced on our home. I have had to call multiple times. They have told us they will be up in the next day or two every time. Even told us they would come up that exact day once. Never showed up. Have called multiple times to try and figure out what’s going on. They tell us they will call back once they figure out what’s happened. And never get a phone call back. Don’t waste your time.

Very pleased with Martinek & Flynn. We had windows replaced, a deck door replaced, new kitchen flooring, new guttering, & James Hardie siding installed on our house in southwest Topeka recently.
They installed new front porch supports & new cedar deck supports, too. Brett Martinek was professional, thorough, & easy to work with.

I called them on 6/19 and asked them to come out for an estimate on a small siding replacement job. I was told they would be out that afternoon or the next day. After waiting three days I called back and was told they would be over that day. They came the next day and provided the info to the guys painting my house. They never called me back or provided me with any estimate. I was gone for a week and still haven't heard anything. Basically got "ghosted" because my project wasn't worth their time.

Two years ago I purchased a home that needed new gutters. Darrell gave me a bid and within a couple weeks they had the job done. Gutters look great and are far superior in there placement than the old gutters. Prices were very reasonable and I will be giving them a call soon on the next house I have that needs gutters.

Martinek and Flynn was great to deal with. Tony was easy to work with. I was around the crew both days they were out and their work is exceptional. They were detail oriented and cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommend them to use.

Recently had Martinek & Flynn install new gutters on our home as well as do some repairs to our vinyl siding. Great communication and the craftsmanship was top notch. Would highly recommend this company!

Adam was a big help diagnosing our leaky fireplace. Our siding didn't need redone and he helped us find some people that could fix the actual problem.

Quality siding, roof and gutters for my home and my garage. Totally changed the look of the place. Removed the old rotten wood and made the place water tight and safe. Put in new outside lights and storm door. Rehung the mailbox. Left everything better than it was before they came. Didn’t waste time and the home looks so professionally done.

I have spoken with Brett several times recently; he is professional, responsive and great with ideas. He shared some potential money saving tips, was honest about the timeline we had for repairs and genuine. We will continue to do business with Martinek and Flynn!

These guys are awesome. Very reasonable pricing. The very next day after they put it in my dog jumped through the screen door. They came and got it and repaired it at no cost!!! I recommend them to everyone!!! ❤️

DO NOT waste your money with this company. Unimaginably poor work...we’re talking holes the size of baseballs in the siding patched with caulk and then painted over, three inch differences in the trim on side-by-side windows that were supposed to match (after we threw a fit and informed them that the raw two-by-four thrown up on one side to “hide” the difference wasn’t going to fly. They got their trucks stuck in our driveway...I kid you not...they rummaged through the garage to find a gas can to dump on the snow to try to light it on fire to melt it. Trash and cigarette butts left everywhere. We called them back out to try to fix it five separate times, before realizing that the company is a sham, and they don’t HAVE a capable carpenter on their payroll. Steer clear.

We were selling our house and they responded immediately for a critical issue that could have made our deal fall through. Very communicative. Would call them first for home improvement.

Proofs in the pudding, Folks! Don't believe the bad reviews. Martinek and Flynn just finished siding our home and we are over the top happy with their work! Their siding is top quality, solid and beautiful. Their crew was highly skilled and talented and picked up every scrap of left over piece of vinyl, wood and trash. Darrel went out of his way to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction from start to finish and the end results are amazing! We absolutely LOVE the job they did and we would highly recommend them to anyone. BEST. PEOPLE. EVER!!!

After 29 years our house was tired and needed some love! Martinek and Flynn did such a great job with windows, siding, shingles and stone. The crew were friendly and and we appreciated how careful they were of plants and flowers growing around the house.

I called about window siding trim and talked to a lady. I asked for window capping she had no idea what I was talking about explained..she said oh you mean wrapping ( she laughed)...definition --Window capping. In construction, capping or window capping (window cladding, window wrapping) refers to the application of aluminum or vinyl sheeting cut and formed with a brake to fit over the exterior, wood trim of a building.

I have windows that need this done...she kept asking me who did them - us or someone else, I told her twice....they didn't do it etc... just need to fix 4 windows. After more laughing and integration...i was done, she finally got to the part of we can have an estimator come by...but by then I was done...if someone is going to laugh at me and put me down because I use different terms...that mean the same thing then quiz me over who did..then just getting to the point and asking if an estimator can come out.

We've used these folks for our guttering, doors, and siding projects. As has our neighbor. We're really happy with the service and quality of products. We'll probably hire them to do our windows.

This "business" should not be in business. Cheap flimsy guttering, and pathetic installation. When I call the office to complain, I get laughter and giggles when they tell me they will be right out to take care of any problems they see. This has gone on for many years. Still no one has bothered to have the professionalism to contact me about making things right. These characters make their own image, no one else. Shameful of Topeka to allow such a place to stay in business, and yet no one knows why this is such a pathetic place to try and live to raise a family, and to teach kids respect, when this is a fine example of a "business" disrespecting their customers. I would like to leave a negative star rating, but whomever made this site for comments does not believe in true honesty.
