The worst ! Slow.Incompetent. Negligent. Rude. Disrespectful. The crew working on the roof used a blower to remove debris from removed old roof and saw dust from cutting plywood. The mix of 20 year old rubbish, dry rot, saw dust and glue from cut plywood stuck to everything within reach. Car parked in the driveway became matted with the mix. Concrete path on the side of the house was covered with the mixture up to an inch, same with windows, jasmine bushes and other growth next to the fence, consequently killing the bloom and causing further drying out and decay. When attention was brought to it, promise was made to remedy this negligence. The solution according to Juan or Jose (as he was introduced by one of the workers) was to call the office. Upon speaking with the office man who not only didn't offer proper introduction, but refused to introduce himself even after introduction was made on my side, proceeded to insult me. Treat me with with rudeness and disrespect. Such as "what do you want us to do? Dig out your flowers? We are not gardeners. How about you call back in an hour when you calm down. I actually was calm. I was upset and caught by surprise due to the disrespect I was treated with. Never the less I called back later on the office number which states that the phone calls are being recorded. Hoping I will get someone else on the phone, but I got the same man I refer to now as Ass, since he again refused to introduce himself. And while he toned down a bit still he was inappropriate. Again he did not offer to remedy the negligence, instead he requested to call back on the other number the number that did not have recording and hung up on me. This experience makes me wonder about a lot of things. Most importantly, are these men naturally belligerent, hoping that this will stop someone from holding them responsible for their negligence? Especially when on their website they make this promise:
" THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR HONESTY & INTEGRITY, from preparation to clean-up, we perform all work to perfection and our superior quality workmanship is guaranteed. So rest assured if the work is done by us you are backed with experience & pride. Each job is treated like it's my mother's home, or like it's my own home. "

Very poor business communication. I reported a roof leak to on of my rental homes and was told on two different occasions and was told a repair technician would be assigned within the next work day. Sadly, upon following up twice on the status the manager did not even have the repair information notes. On my third after wasting days was told to call another roofing company!

Definitely not a company that I would refer to others!

Great business to work with on my roof project. They were referred by a friend, who was happy with their work. The job went smoothly, good quality work/product and the pricing was great. Would recommend the company for your next roofing project.

We had Martin Roofing do a complete Roof Tile Re-Set. From the very first telephone call that I made to Ron; he was very professional, informative, and straightforward about what type of service our 35 year old roof would need so that it was in good shape and water proof for many years to come. He gave us a fair price! His crew led by Juan was on time each day and responded immediately to each of our questions and concerns. They cleaned up each day well. They finished the job timely. Ron goes the extra extra mile to give you all of the information and documentation you need to know that they are covered by licenses and bonded and insured so that all is up front and clear for the customer! I don’t hesitate to recommend! There may be cut corners or shady roofing companies out there. Martin Roofing is not such!!!!!Martin Roofing via Ron and Juan are all upfront and professional!!!!

We had a complete re-roof. The first crew arrived right on time, took off the old shingles and were out by noon. While they were wrapping up, the second crew was busy loading shingles on the roof. It was all done quickly, professionally and cleanly. Their equipment is top of the line. Great job!!

What an educational and great experience. We needed a new roof and fascia due to dry rot and termite damage, we also had a few challenges...solar & patio covers attached to the fascia. The Martin Roofing crew were amazing, in less than four days they removed the 2 layer roof, detached & reattached the patio covers from the fascia, flashed around all the solar outlets and cleaned up each day when they were done. The crew & Ron were all very considerate and professional, we recommend them with flying colors. Thank you so much for a job well done. Linda & Ed Luth

First I'd like to say that Ron is a very likable and very intelligent guy, with a great sense of humor. I found him to be polite, honest, perceptive and straight forward. He is the most experienced roofing contractor I have ever encountered, and the best contractor overall, I have ever met--by far.

Now, about his company. Let me tell ya, this is some-serious roofing company! They could (if you wanted) tear apart your entire roof (shingles, wood, and all) and put it all back-together again like Humpty Dumpty. Of course, I cant imagine why anyone would want to do such a thing--but I am at least certain Martin Roofing Company could!

Ron is the kind-of-guy that just takes responsibility without any thought whatsoever! He came out to my location (house) a few times as I recall, talked with me for a good while each time to get an understanding of what the job entailed and my desires. He left me with a very good impression each time, a selection of roofing tiles to dwell on, and some recommendations. After I made-up my mind he presented me with a signed contract. He's not-at-all like the other guys that just want your cash, present you with nothing in writing, and promising to start tomorrow but instead--they're gone tomorrow! There are a lot of contractors out there looking to get away with anything they can...every-single-step-of-the-way! I know from experience!!! Ron is not that kind of contractor!!! Ron didn't wait for me to struggle with asking for the hardcore stuff! He sent all the paper work in my direction--even more than I would have thought to ask! He made my end easy and stress-free. Let me put it this way I'm a very cautious and pessimistic type of individual these days, and when Ron started providing me all the information in clear writing I was thinking like...."OK this is not normal...why is he being so upfront and honest...something must be up!" Yes, something was up--a decent human being trying his best to make an honest living! That's all there was to it, in my humble opinion.

He presented me with a signed written contract, detailed description of the work, costs, labor and materials and his license number in writing, separate certificates of each his workers compensation and general liability insurances without the asking! That's what I'm talking about. Get ready to be impressed.

During the job, I asked Juan, the foreman on site, to change a couple things, and he did them. I'm not an easy customer to work for, and after taking into consideration their experience over my own, we came to agreement on what would be done and they did it to fit my taste, I left the rest to them.

When the job was complete, I noticed they took the time to finish details that I didn't even know should be done. They left me some extra shingles for my shed to boot and placed them where I wanted them to be stored.

A few weeks later, I also asked Juan to come back to the "location" and patch up a couple holes in the roof that my electrician left when the electrician installed a new electric panel AFTER the roofing job had already been completed. Juan made it look like band new again, as if the new service line had already been installed prior to the roofing job.

I don't know where to end, there's more...but I'll have to leave room for those positive thoughts for others to express. Thank you Ron, for being the "good ole fashioned" honest-to-goodness tradesman that I remember so well while growing up as a kid.

I checked out 9 other roofers prior to discovering Martin Roofing Company. I'm glad I waited. Experience from the others ranged from - they only did aluminum roofs, not showing up for appointments to, current roof most likely had asbestos in it - really jacked up the quote. No asbestos, it was maxi tile.

My experience with all those representing and doing the work for Martin Roofing Company- they answered questions that I asked. They listened first, talked second. They explained and showed me the different steps of removal and re-roofing. This was big for me as I'm a senior and some had presented as if they were going to rescue me from the big bad wolf - lots of story, little information.

The workers and foreman, Juan, were amazing. They worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. Juan even came back late Wednesday night after the inspector made a special trip out too, to put plastic over exposed roof as dark clouds threatened. Gratefully, it didn't rain until Friday morning - roof was good.

The workers handled the removal and disposing of old roofing materials, and the yard left pristine, no damage or mess. Neighbors are still commenting on what a great crew - they were watching the removal and new roofing process very closely. They started work on Wednesday morning and were done by mid-afternoon Thursday.

Bob Martin was very forth coming answering all my questions, getting me a timely quote and did not want to be paid until the job was complete and I was satisfied/happy with the experience.

For payment, Bob made a trip to see me and gave me the signed off release forms: labor, and final payment to workers as well as suppliers of materials used. Great business practice.

Great experience!

Martin Roofing completed the project on time with quality work.
They discovered problems when removing 2 old layers of roof, they made quick, thorough repairs and then replaced the entire roof on schedule.
They cleaned the job-site every day and final cleanup was excellent.
They worked safely and quickly. We are very happy with results and highly recommend them.

Martin Roofing came highly recommended from a friend who had a great experience with them. I couldn't agree more, as the quality, service, and timing was amazing!

Ron and his team inspected the damage, explained it and clearly showed us what needed to be done, and provided a fair estimate and when it would be done.

The next time I need to have some roof repairs done or someone ask me, I will gladly call and recommend Martin Roofing.

Just had my roof replaced. Started 11/3 and finished 11/6. Juan and his crew are the epitome of what professionalism should be. The job took an extra day because my original roof was in bad shape and had to have the plywood sheets put on. There was an issue where the garage and house met and Juan fixed it perfectly. My roof is now ready for the Godzilla of El Nino's.
Thank you Ron, Juan and crew.

We just had our roof replaced by Martin Roofing. Ron (the owner) is super busy, but still answers the phone at the office! It's nice in this day and age to get personal service when you call.
His crew tore off our old roof, and put plywood down, as well as fixed any areas with dry rot, then put down the new roofing, which looks absolutely gorgeous! They were neat, as they cleaned up everyday when they finished. One day I wasn't home when they finished and they waited, so they could get in the garage and blow out the debris. They were kind and extremely professional. They did the whole job in 3 1/2 days!
I would recommend Martin Roofing to anyone looking to get the job done right!!

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
