We've had the pleasure of working with Mariani Landscape for decades, and the partnership has been nothing short of exceptional. Their team members across various local offices consistently bring professionalism, creativity, and care to every project.
The quality of their designs and the caliber of their installations are truly world-class. Each project reflects extraordinary attention to detail and craftsmanship. Their ability to integrate lighting into the landscape so seamlessly speaks to their thoughtful, high-level approach.
We're incredibly grateful for the long-standing relationship and look forward to many more years of collaboration with Mariani Landscape.
We moved into our home last June and were happy to continue working with Mariani, who originally designed the landscape and had been maintaining it, including flower bed weed control. Shortly after we moved in, someone from their crew asked if we’d like to continue the service—we said yes, and they provided care throughout the rest of the year without issue.
This spring, we hadn’t heard from them, so I called their main office to check in. A staff member answered and explained that our contact information had likely never been updated and that the renewal was probably sent to the previous owners. She said she would find out who our area rep was and get us connected. I heard nothing for two weeks. After leaving a voicemail, another woman finally got in touch. She confirmed the contact info had not been updated and said Don, the rep for our area, would be in touch shortly. Again, there was no follow-up for another two weeks.
By then, it had been nearly a month of trying to reconnect, so I wrote a complaint to Chris Detweiler, the Client Care Specialist. Don responded the same day.
He visited the property and we discussed several services: continuing our regular maintenance and flower bed weed control, adding mulch, starting up the sprinkler system, and possibly planting new items in the front yard. He said he would send a complete estimate shortly.
After that, the communication fizzled. He only followed up about the new planting. When I asked for pricing, there was no response. His tone during that exchange also made it feel like he wasn’t particularly interested in the types of plants we liked, so we ended up purchasing and planting them ourselves. Later, he sent a quote for just that one item. We responded with an apology for moving ahead on our own and once again asked about continuing the maintenance and getting quotes for the remaining services—but we never heard back.
It has now been over a month since that last email. I reached out to Chris again, hoping to be connected with someone else, but received no reply.
We were ready to continue the services and even expand them, but the repeated silence suggests that because our account may be considered small, they simply chose to ghost us rather than communicate directly or professionally. It’s unfortunate. We had genuinely hoped to build a long-term relationship and had nothing but respect for the work done previously. For a company with such a strong reputation, the lack of follow-through and transparency was extremely disappointing.
I just became a new customer this year at Mariani Landscape. Their service and work is outstanding to date. Michael Bonfiglio is my client representative and he has gone above and beyond with his service and expertise. He is detailed, very responsive and has helped get my landscape looking great. I appreciate all the hard work and attention to detail from the crew.
