Mainus Construction

Mainus Construction recently built a 12’x20’ shed for us. It was built on site on a concrete slab. I can hardly say enough good things about Tom and his crew. They did an excellent job and were on schedule. He was very helpful during the planning stage. He convinced us not to spend extra money on vinyl siding (it was completely unnecessary). He moved our old shed out of the way to a different spot in the backyard so we could continue to use it during construction. Tom was very professional and paid attention to detail. He and the crew worked very hard and it was during a couple of very cold December days. I wish he was a general contractor so I could use him for other home projects.

You won't find a better more organized professional company to move your shed. Tom knows his profession and demonstrates high quality work at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend his service

Really appreciate Tom’s patience with my questions and low pressure talks. We took our time deciding what shed we wanted and I’m so happy we decided to go with him. Install went great on site and he communicated with our concrete guy to make sure everything was poured correctly. 10/10!

Tom came out today and moved our grandfathers shed to our new property. Throughout the process, from the communication, prep, to execution was very professional and timely! They were willing to move our shed when other companies did not even return our phone calls or get back to us. Great experience!

They kept me updated throughout the construction process, and delivered exactly when the they said they would. Tom, at Mainus Construction built a 10x12 shed on my concrete slab. I had to wait , as this man does nothing but Quality work, and is busy ! The day they started, it was windy and temperatures dropping ! I was amazed as I watched, elbows, backsides, and a crew that was a well oiled machine . Attention to detail is an understatement ! This shed is exactly what I wanted . Tom is TOP NOTCH !

I would recommend this company to anyone that needs their shed moved. I was amazed at how professional of a job that Tom did for me. Truly amazing work! He was able to do a move for me with only a few days notice. It was a very difficult move as well and he was able to get my shed out of a very tight spot and move it to my yard with No issues!! He knew exactly how to do it and I was so thankful for the quality of work he did for me. I couldn’t be more happy!!

Update: time passed. Still sturdy. Big news: Shed siding withstood huge hail of big storm. Not a nick. Our house and others have extensive siding repairs. Still a great shed.

Prior review still stands: We searched for and visited multiple shed builders. We were concerned about some cheaper prefab options that can’t fit their designs to customer needs especially on existing concrete foundations. We had a need for a very large attractive shed. Tom Mainus won - he’s very experienced to know how to adjust for customer situation. Tom worked up good design with options. Shed style has a great look with good curb or yard appeal. Very solid very strong construction inside and out. Stronger thicker wall construction than most we saw. Wide eaves overhang outside walls critical to divert roof water flow from shed. Most sheds we saw have narrow or no overhangs which can reduce life of shed due to rain building moisture especially at shed base. Stunningly fast build once we got on their schedule (Mainus is popular. Don’t wait to last moment like we did). Very informed - gives good advice to protect and preserve your investment. Tom appears a little quick to get to the point, a tad busy and short on time. But we enjoyed his integrity, openness, and humor despite a packed schedule. Love this shed.

Well built and good price for what you get. They have a lot of options for you to choose from to give you that custom build which you don’t get with the big stores.

Tom did a great job moving a shed to my house. He took very good care to avoid any damage to the shed and our yard during the moving process. He was also on time and communicated well. Would recommend Tom and his crew to anyone looking to move a shed.

Our experience having a shed built by Mainus Construction and his concrete sub cont. was outstanding. Communication with Tom Mainus was prompt, responsive and straight forward when designing the shed and estimating costs. The result is a shed which was built precisely and according to plan. We are so super happy with the shed Tom built for us! I am really impressed with the craftsmanship, he obviously takes great pride in what he does. The materials used are top notch too. The fiberglass doors heavy and solid. The hinges and latches all work very smoothly. Wall studs are all 16" on center. They even took the time to add bump stops on the exterior to keep the handles from marring the LP siding. They also added plenty of anchors to the concrete slab and caulked all the way around, inside and out to make sure the shed is secure and dry. They used a quality roof shingle and flashed all the way around. Everything is quality. This shed is built to last many decades! The final thing I'd like to add is that I found the cost very reasonible and much better than the competitors we priced out. I asked Tom about this and he stated that they carry very little overhead unlike some of the other builders that employee a lot of people and ship sheds all over the region. I would highly recommend Mainus construction to anyone on almost any budget. Check out their website and you can see countless examples of their work.
