We are first time home buyers who recently moved into a ranch that needed a lot of work. We decided to reach out for help with painting due to me being 6 months pregnant.

Donny did an amazing job texturing and painting our entire main floor. Very affordable and was able to get us on the schedule quickly. He was very knowledgeable and even gave us advice on some other projects we plan to DIY in the future. Will definitely use his services in the future!

After some cosmetic interior work, Chaulky’s was hired to do painting and helped in other areas. Extremely responsive, on time, and really pleasant during the job. Took extreme care so that the surroundings were not damaged. When finished it was obvious the work was professionally done. Even provided some advise on some DIY projects. We would highly recommend.

Chaulky's did some deck work for me, he replaced some boards and stained my deck. He was very easy to work with and he did a great job. The deck looks great!!

We are extremely pleased with the work that Don and Dale provided. They repainted our vaulted stairway and 2nd story guest bathroom. The bathroom took several coats as the walls were painted a bright blue. They also did the ceiling in the bathroom and re-caulked some areas. The workmanship was professional and of absolute quality. We would not hesitate to use Don again and highly recommend his company.

Don, aka, Chaulky, was sent to us thru some benevolent forces for sure. We purchased a rundown condo in an equally rundown development. We wanted a boat slip on the water, and this one was within our price range. We had thought that we would only do a little painting and repairs, but in a very short time, it was obvious that we needed more. Chaulky and Dale stepped up to the plate and after about eight weeks of tearing apart and repairing, our condo is almost finished. It will be a pleasure bringing friends and family into the condo after a day of boating. Now, if we can only get the exterior completed as nicely as Chaulky did the interior.
We also would like to say that he helped with other things, ie carrying things up the steps, etc, when it was too heavy for us. Obviously, when we purchased this unit, we had no idea what it would cost to make it even livable. It has been an expensive adventure, but Chaulky did an amazing job and made sure that everything was done correctly. He is a great guy and would recommend him highly.

What is the difference between a painter and a professional painter? I found out when I hired Don.

I originally planned to just have the house painted. The house was built in the late '80s and may have been stained once after that (purchased in 2011).

When Don reviewed the structure he point out cracked cedar that should be replaced and other boards that needed to be repaired. Caulking was decades old, not sealing the boards on the house in many cases, or just too brittle to paint over if you are doing the job correctly. So in 2021 it was time for a refresh.

Much to my pocket book's chagrin Don counseled me to 'fix it right' and make the repairs that would last on this house longer than I will.

"Chaulky" is a very likeable guy, and always chatty. And his depth of knowledge about buildings was very apparent, day after day. He helped me with a house drainage problem, and fixed some drywall and perfectly matched some skylight area paint (ask him about his MATC training and paint mixing).

How may painters do you know that worked painting the sliding roof structure of the Brewer's stadium? Don can tell you all about that too.

I have one criticism of Don. He's too good and very much a perfectionist. If you want somebody to just do the absolute minimum, then look elsewhere. Down to the choice of stain he will and won't use, he a professional, detailed, and smart. Just don't let him look around too long -- he'll find all of your house's warts. The good news is he knows how to fix most of them too.

Chaulky's did some deck repairs for us, stained our deck, and replaced the trim above our garage door. Don was friendly and great to work with. The work was good quality and Don checked with us to make sure we were satisfied and did some additional touch-ups we asked for. Would recommend!

We hired Don to repair some damage to our roof. He got the job done quickly and you can’t even tell where the roof was repaired. Great job at a reasonable price! We will be working with Don on future projects.

I had several rooms repainted and other touch up work. Don and Dale were very professional and made sure I was satisfied with each room before moving on. I asked Don to paint a couple of areas that we didn’t originally talk about and he was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend Chaulky’s.

Last year Don and his buddy Dale were hired through a separate contractor I used to paint a LARGE scale main floor remodel. Walls, vaulted ceilings that required scaffolding, trim, doors and patching holes and fixing cracking. This was a big job. I was surprised it was only the two of them! Do to the scale of work and some weather it took longer than expected but we are very pleased with the outcome! When I was home I was fortunate to spend some time working with them and doing other projects of my own, all while getting to know them. We had a great time BS’ing and hanging out. Don is a wealth of knowledge and experience and gave me great tips and ideas for the other remodel/repair things I was undertaking. I trusted them with a key to my home and enjoyed having both Dale and Don around! I’d love to have them back for future projects! Thanks again Don and Dale!

Don takes the same pride in all his projects whether large or small. We needed a bi-fold door on our laundry closet and he took the time to get it done for us in between other projects and when he was finished, after cleaning up he made sure that it met our expectations and our need. He is a conscientious craftsman and very trustworthy. Thanks Don for a job well done.
