Dan and his crew replaced my deck and my neighbor's. Did a great job with the tear down and rebuild and the nice composite flooring on the deck. It all looks really nice. Crew was friendly and considerate.

I loved working with Daniel, great company and great men! Daniel did some work for my deck and it looked fantastic and my family absolutely adores it, all my family is planning on reaching out to Daniel to finish their deck. Amazing company!!

Daniel just painted my entire house and installed flooring. I reached out to him once I moved to a new town, he was amazing and very understanding of all the different aspects that was needed in our new house. I told him what I wanted and he made sure it happen! I loved working with this company and definitely will reach back out to The Lowry construction for any future work.

Dan took advantage of my elderly mother. Appears nice, however did unauthorized work and convinced her to pay more than the original quote was without a signed contract. His workers used her electricity and water for work on other adjacent properties. Do not trust him or his workers.

Edit. While work was discussed, no contract was ever signed or agreed to and payment was demanded at twice the amount originally quoted. Work performed for neighbor has now caused water to flow behind siding. The association will be contacting you I'm sure for repair costs.

Dan replaced our siding and roof - we couldn’t be happier. Great crew, finished in a timely manner, quality craftsmanship that exceeded our expectations! Definitely recommend Lowry Construction.

I hired Dan and the gang at Lowery Construction to completely replace a 45' long lower deck and a 26' upper balcony deck, plus some James Hardie siding and trim on our house in Wonder Lake. They are without a doubt THE VERY BEST. So professional, so knowledgeable, and the quality of their work is absolutely unbeatable! I will never use any other company. Every night they clean up the grounds. They do just about everything too, so check with them before you hire another contractor. You'll be glad you did!

Hired Dan to build cedar deck, pour sidewalk, paint back and garage doors and shutters and wash house. The house looks fantastic with all the black accents. Deck is beautiful!! Dan, Austin and Brandon do great work and I highly recommend them.

Don't let habitual one star reviewers lead you in the wrong direction. Dan and his guys have done 3 decks for myself and multiple for close friends and family and even redid my parents roof. He's always prompt and willing to work around my picky ways. Dan also poured a concrete sidewalk from my front and side entrances to my house. He's always been keen on making sure things are done exactly how I ask and had always used the highest quality materials. If you want quality and dependability this is your guy!

Dan came by and did a great job building a new cedar deck for me, crew came out and was very clean with their work. My house ended up having some bad siding along the wall the new deck was being put up on and he gave me a good price for the siding as well. Great work, will definitely recommend to friends and family for future work.

Hired Dan Lowry to Paint my garage and build a deck.
Also had him do a few odds and ends. Put everything down on paper and had him sign it.
I gave him half the money down and the rest upon completion.
I called him a couple of times and he did not return the calls. This was the 'red flag' telling me I was going to have problems.
Garage: I asked him to paint the floor a light gray, even gave him a picture of it and told him where to buy the paint. He painted the floor a darker-battleship gray. (I let it go)
Odds and Ends: He said that wasn't part of the deal. I said,
"you signed a piece of paper". Then he wanted me to send a picture of the paper with his signature, I did. Then he did the work, but I made him go back and do a better job.
Deck: The deck was a 40'x10'. I supplied the design. Using pressure treated pine wood. The large posts that the deck rests on had gaps between. Did not pass inspection. He used shimmies to fill in the gaps. On the top of the deck I have white posts and black spindles with a staircase at one end. Spindles were not evenly spaced. Did not pass city inspection. One space was 5" from the post (which is agains IL. law). How can a deck builder not know this? To fix it, he just put another spindle in that gap. All my spindles are not evenly spaced. (I let it go).
The deck boards were not straight. Lowry said that the board were straight enough. (I let it go). The stair case was a disaster. Did not pass inspection In order to pass inspection Lowry just cut the bottom stair, it passed but really doesn't look the greatest. Also, the risers are suppose to be behind the treads, they were instead on top. He did fix this. One rail from post to post was not even with the rest. (I let it go). I asked him to stain the posts and rails white and the deck brown. He tried to pass of one coat, dripping stain marks (from doing it in the light rain). I said the entire deck needs to get a second coat. He said he did a second coat. I pointed out bare wood. He gave it another coat and it looks much better. He came across as a nice guy and appeared to know what he was doing. The basic building knowledge was soon to be apparent. Beware of wh you choose, look at references, not pictures. We just had Lowry Construction redo our existing deck and build a 14 x 14 shed at our home. Wow is all I can say. The crew was fantastic, and the owner Dan very polite and professional. We are definitely 150% satisfied with the work that was done and will call them again if needed. We will make sure to recommend them to our friends and family.

We Hired Lowry Construction to handle the demo and rebuild of our back deck. The owner Dan is extremely professional and pays attention to detail. We gave him a vision of what we wanted and he exceeded those expectations. His pricing is fair and his crew works very hard.
