We have been in our Lexar built home for 8 years. For the most part we are pleased with the floor plan, which we did adapt and enhance from the original, and were excited to watch our home being built. I was previously involved in the home building industry for over 25 years, so I am very familiar with the building process. I do want to caution anyone contemplating having Lexar build their "dream" home ...... the finish work leaves a lot to be desired. We have had no less than 5 door knobs which have needed repair as the set screw in the door knob hardware is cheaply built and poorly installed. The set screw works it's way out and the door knob simply falls off. We also have a front door and now our dining room door, which is a french door, where the actual bold has worked it's way loose and now you cannot open the front door with having to put your whole body weight behind it. We now need to replace the entire front door to the tune of at least $1000.
So my advice to anyone thinking of using Lexar, especially the office located in Marysville, is to be very involved with your choices of finish (doors, cabinets, etc) work and materials, and spend extra to make sure you get quality materials.. I believe that Lexar used the cheapest doors and hardware that they could find. In my 25 years of being involved in the home building industry and the 8 years I have lived in our home, I have never, ever seen door knobs falling off like we have experienced in our home. I also have noticed that the interior paint was way watered down, so that when you go to clean off a spot the paint comes off.

Lexar worked with us every step of the way, communicating clearly and often, giving valuable help and guidance when we needed it. I highly recommend you chose Lexar if you're building a new house, the Lexar crew is incredibly kind and works as a well-oiled machine. They even upgraded a heat pump for us for free when the manufacture sent a defective one! Lexar constantly went above and beyond for us with a great attitude from everyone on the team. My project is 6 x Townhomes. I enquired as to whether they did steel framing at all. Her attitude was rude and abrupt. Additionally, nobody on this team is a General Contractor.
