Lakeside Renovations - Wirtz, VA

We asked Derek of Lakeside Renovations for recommendations for replacing our large, rusted wrought iron railings that lined our deck and driveway at our lake house. Other contractors had recommended various types of aluminum railings, none of which would match the holes and anchoring marks left by the original installation. Derek recommended removing the railings and having them sandblasted and powder coated. They have been installed and have a beautiful, durable finish that will not rust, and they actually look better than they did when new. Derek was a delight to work with and I can give Lakeside Renovations my very highest recommendation.

Derek did EXACTLY what he said he was going to do. Which is very hard to come by and also very important to us. Our master suite was gutted and completely redesigned and remodeled in a 6 week time frame. There were changes along the way by us and also suggestions by him that we ended up loving and appreciating. Highly recommend.

We had a mix of small and large renovation projects and Derek did a great job working with us to prioritize and plan out everything we needed to accomplish. From the start Derek was easy to work with, he is very knowledgeable and made great suggestions when we weren't sure what direction to take. He definitely takes pride in his craft and we were so happy we found him.

From our first meeting with Derek, we knew he was the right contractor for us. He listened to what we wanted, made plans, and gave us a reasonable quote. He let us choose what we wanted at every step along the way. When some of our choices did not work out, because of the layout of the room, he had choices available for us. When a large online retailer sent merchandise that was damaged, he again found alternatives for us, that worked even better. Down to the fine details, he asked where we wanted each piece. He knows his business, and is able to communicate reasons for any differences between what we wanted, and what was needed. When we decided we wanted an "extra," Derek figured out how to make it happen. He was very professional in all that he did, and pleasant in all our interactions. The work was completed in a timely manner, but not so rushed as to be sloppy. We cannot say enough good things about our experience, and we will stay with Derek for any future projects.

Although our vinyl-sided home is fairly new, we were not satisfied with the quality of our vinyl. With some persistent wind damage and warping, the look and functionality was not what we wanted. The owner, Derek was both knowledgeable and experienced with smart siding. With the project just completed, we are ecstatic with the final product. Derek’s attention to detail, his craftsmanship, and impeccable desire for top quality resulted in a job well done. He worked diligently through some very tough weather, never missed a day, and showed up on time every day. Derek remodeled a master bathroom for us moving an existing shower and creating a spa shower for us. He did an outstanding job and I couldn't be happier.

Derek showed great care in thinking through our project, offering solutions that we had not considered, and we are VERY pleased with the outcome. Derek also showed respect for us and our home by cleaning up the worksite at the end of each day...something we have rarely witnessed with previous contractors. Our initial project was to build out a couple walls in the bonus room and to repair our decking. We are anxious to hire him again for tile work and a shower installation!
