I want to say that my experience with lake cook exteriors for gutters was wonderful. Don who was my estimator and project manager kept me informed about their plans. And their gutter installer John is in my opinion a unicorn in the gutter fabrication industry. He was able to fabricate and customize anything needed and even tied two gutters into existing underground drainage pipes with ease. He was very detailed and took extreme pride in doing the job right.

Lake Cook Exteriors was AMAZING to work with. They replaced all of our windows and our front door. Nolan and team were easy to work with on the business side and communication was amazing. The installers were very friendly and nice and they did an outstanding job. We are thrilled with the product and glad we found them. We would be happy to recommend them to anyone. Plus they are a local Palatine family and we always enjoy using family businesses.

I had windows on my front porch installed and a new entry door. Owning an older home sometimes presents problems, but John the installer is great. Added wood so windows fit perfect. Was neat and professional and made the whole process easy. The front door was stained to match my woodwork perfectly and I cannot be happier. I have worked with Lake Cook Exteriors before and am never disappointed.

Lake Cook Exteriors did siding, soffit and fascia on my house and I'm extremely happy with their service. They give you a list of houses that they did siding on so you can drive around to see different colors and pick the final choice which was very helpful. Also they give you a warranty. All of this for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them to anyone.

My old house was a drafty mess. After a friend recommended Lake Cook Exteriors, I knew I was in good hands. Don, their salesman, came by the next day to measure and give me a quote. Bill, the owner, also stopped by to answer a few questions. Both were incredibly knowledgeable and professional. They even provided a list of local projects they'd completed.
With over 40 years in the construction industry, I know a good job when I see one. After accepting their bid, they informed me there would be a slight wait for custom-made windows. The materials were delivered and stored safely out of the way.
The crew arrived promptly and worked diligently every day. They were always courteous and professional. Bill and Don checked in regularly to ensure everything was going smoothly.
Thanks to their expert work, The new siding and windows look fantastic, my house is now draft-free and energy-efficient. The noise from the busy street is significantly reduced, and the temperature inside remains consistently comfortable. Lake Cook Exteriors did an amazing job!

Lake Cook Exteriors installed our front entry and storm door. Their products are well made. We love the style of door and the glass window etching design! The installer was great and pays attend to details. The door was installed with great precision . The painter was very meticulous to the color and details to make sure you are happy with the finished paint job. Everyone was fantastic to work with. From start to finish we felt well taken care of. We would highly recommend Lake Cook Exteriors.

We've had windows replaced back in 2020 with Lake Cook exteriors, and now just finished new siding. They have been great to work with, very responsive of our needs. Excellent team to work with and couldn't be happier with the product!

5 stars is not enough for this company. I had soffits, fascia and gutters replaced on my fairly old house. I worked with Don and John. Don was on site every day ensuring his commitments to me were met and kept me updated as things progressed. There were a few fairly big, unexpected issues with my house but I never worried because John is an artist and Lake Cook Exteriors does whatever it takes to meet expectations. I am so happy with the work and the people and the professionalism that I am having more work done! New exteriors doors and a storm door. That will be another review but so far, is exactly as I expected. Great craftsmen, nice people and a great company. If you need work done, please please, please call this company. You will be so happy with the results.

I was referred to this company by a roofing contractor for the siding, fascia, soffit and gutter portion of the exterior work on my house. The roofer said he worked with him regularly and that he can set up the outer portion of the roof to be ready for them when they came to do the fascia and gutters. Don came out and was a pleasure to meet. But he was unsure about how to handle the metal columns on the front porchway that we were interested in removing when doing the soffit, if possible, otherwise we would keep them. So he referred it to his boss/owner Bill. Bill came out and he too was pleasant to meet. He looked at the posts and said he would have to think about what could be done with those. We were now about a week out from the initial all. Then two days later Bill called and said he wasn't interested in taking the job because of the posts and the fact that some of the siding goes below the deck. He was very abrupt about it and didn't even have the opportunity to engage in any discussion about it. Now I get that these factors may have provided a little more challenge than ideal, but it the way it went down just screamed "we only want easy siding jobs." I'll give an extra star because the guys were initially nice and professional, but it seems the true colors came out during the estimate process.

We had an unusual window installation in our sunroom. It took two years to find someone willing to figure out how to do it - excellent carpentry, and still has the cottage look we wanted to keep. Great to work with every step of the way.

The work performed by Lake Cook Exteriors was excellent and very professional. The workers were very dedicated and conscientious and excellent at their job trades. The vinyl siding looks great. The color of the siding is perfect for the rest of our decor. The seams in the siding are very subdued. Very clean look. The oversize gutters are a plus and rain diverters do the trick. The sales representative is always available for questions and very conscientious. Both sales rep and/or owner were at the job site daily. Great follow-up. Their pricing is reasonable. Would recommend Lake Cook Exteriors to anyone.

Lake Cook Exteriors recently installed new windows at the parsonage of our church. They were wonderful to work with and did excellent quality work. They were great at communication and kept us in the loop through the whole process. We appreciated their willingness to be flexible with our special requirements and circumstances. I had used them before and they exceeded my exactions for a full gutter replacement. Now I just had a front storm door replaced and a garage door with casement replaced and they did a fabulous job. They added trim in the inside of the garage (which wasn't there before) with out me asking. Totally professional and workers were great.

Lake-Cook did a great job installing new siding, insulation and gutters. Don and Bill stayed on top of the job and it went smoothly. Jack and Jerry did the actual install and were obviously expert.

I worked with Don to get my gutters done. They also installed their version of gutter guards which have performed well. It's been a year since they did the install and I have had no issues. They did a great job and the gutter guards are still in place and working as promised. I highly recommend Lake Cook Exteriors!

From start to finish, Lake Cook Exteriors did a fantastic job. They were professional, courteous, respectful of both my time and my house, and responsive to any questions and concerns that I had. Bill, Karen, and Nolan are pros, possibly the best in the business. My entire exterior is from Lake Cook, and we could not be happier. We had all windows replaced, including a bay window put in. This year, they did our soffits and facia and our siding. I highly recommend them and would not venture elsewhere. We had many quotes previously, and their prices and service beat anyone. Thank you, Lake Cook for everything. My wife and I sincerely appreciate all you do!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Lake Cook Exteriors is a broker that employs installers of very poor skill level. We purchased three doors, main entry and two french exterior doors. The doors were damaged by LCE even before installation. LCE requests their products (doors etc) to ship to them from the manufacturer "broken down" so they can increase profits by prepping, painting and finishing themselves...which is extremely poor quality. The manufacturers that we contacted told us this is very unusual and certainly not the way the product is advertised. All of our doors had paint applied with a roller! Absolutely awful quality of work. The installation quality was even worse. Our door installation required two installers as per the factory and LCE sent one installer. The doors were damaged and installed incorrectly to the point of not even functioning properly. We now have doors that do not function properly and esthetically look terrible. We gave LCE the opportunity to fix everything and "make it right" but they refused. The owner of LCE, Bill Sheetz, told us that our doors were not damaged and installed correctly, in person, and then told us to have our handyman fix his mess. LCE denied the damage and poor install and in the same conversation told us to have "our guy" fix it which was quite startling.
You can see the photos attached. Incredibly unprofessional and a complete money grab. I really wish we would have known all of this prior to selecting LCE to purchase and install high end doors for our home. BEWARE!!!!

A trustworthy source of patio doors I have used them for two now and both times I’ve been happy with the results

My experience with Lake Cook Exteriors was phenomenal from start to finish. They were extremely accommodating with a difficult installation, going above and beyond to help me. Their timing always met with my schedule, for measuring, installation and additional painting to match my other painted areas. In addition, Bill (the owner) even came and assisted in the flooring to make it an easier entrance for me. This is one of the best companies I have had working in my house, a definite 10 stars!

I had several replacement windows installed. The windows came in sooner than expected, and the installation was excellent. Any questions I had were addressed, and phone calls were returned promptly. It was a real pleasure to work with this company I will be having them replace my remaining windows soon.

We just finished up a project where Lake Cook Exteriors sided our house. New gutters and downspouts were installed as well. It was great working with this company. They really know their product and are excellent with customer service. They have an excellent project manager that is in contact with you with each step of the process and he and the owner come by each day to answer questions and check on the progress. The team that does the installation has been with the company for many years. All around this is a top notch company.

We hired Lake Cook Exteriors to replace the door from our mud room to our garage. They made the entire process completely painless and Nolan was very kind in explaining everything to us! When it came time to install the whole process took maybe 45 minutes and it was a fantastic job. Highly recommend!1

Lake Cook Exteriors is by far the most professional company I've worked with. Every aspect from first meet to final install was as effortless and very easy on my part. My windows were installed in two days and the workmanship is outstanding. I can't recommend them enough.

Lake Cook Exteriors was requested to provide an estimate for seamless gutters on my colonial. They came out twice to do an estimate, once last year and again this year. Both times they did not provide the quote via e-mail or in writing, with a complete lack of communication.

After e-mailing, and asking why there was non-communication again, I received a call from the owner of the business. The owner called to rudely explain that they cannot install gutters on my house without any explanation as to why other than "ask the estimator." Additionally they claimed they left a voicemail that doesn’t exist.

Great customer service! A++ business skills!

The gentleman that installed the gutters was willing to do the downspouts exactly the way I wanted because I was having my yard completely landscaping completely redone and I did not want the downspouts sticking out to far. He also did a beautiful job on the install and cleanup afterwards!!

I live in Schaumburg and just had all my gutters and downspouts replaced by Lake Cook Exteriors in Palatine IL. A family run business of highly experienced and respectful people. I must say I was so happy to have them service my house. Don Tenuto who was my contact was professional and so helpful throughout this process. He covered all the bases and made sure I understood what was going to be done. The bid was the lowest on my 3000 sq foot house which was icing on the cake. John who has been with the company for many years did the installation. He was great!!! He also added a personal touch to my house recommending extensions in some places which was perfect. John was awesome and truly truly would give the whole group 10 stars for the great service. I would recommend Lake Cool Exteriors to anyone and all who are interested in having their gutters replaced. I also would be available for a phone recommendation as well!!!

The did the gutters on my home and it was an all-around great experience. I invited 5 companies to bid, we made our decision after we had received 3 of the 5 bids, the two remaining companies called to start the quotation process after Lake Cook had already completed the installation. Work was completed less than a week after I put the deposit down. Don was great to work with, fantastic experience.

The value for the product was excellent, and the workmanship was outstanding. I will definitely use them for additional work in the future.

While I admit I lost my cool over the frustration I had dealing with the owner, Bill has zero people skills. He is just a money hungry middle man that doesn't stand up to the work. Save your self some money and call an installer direct.
I had windows installed three years ago by an installer that Lake Cook Exteriors hired. (Lake Cook is just a middle man). The work was about $7000 for 14 windows. Mostly I was happy with the work John the installer did. Shortly after the windows were installed I noticed white blotches of plastic on the glass on several of the windows. I called Lake Cook Exteriors and expressed my concern. I was supposed to get a call back from the owner Bill and didn't so the next day I left another message. Later that day I called Bill on his cell phone and he answered and was very put off that I had called him during dinner. At that point I contacted Simonton Windows direct and got in contact with a local area manager who then came out to my house with Bill, Bill left shortly after it was determined the white plastic was from the molding at the factory and the manager cleaned it off the windows. About a year later I had my house tuck pointed and was told by the mason that the windows should have a drip edge. I explained they used to but the installer cut the edge off when he installed the new windows. I tried talking with Bill at Lake Cook Exteriors and got nowhere so I gave up on that. Now three years later after smelling mildew in our bedroom I had to take off the drywall to find black mold under the window there. I removed the drywall and insulation myself and remediated mold on the brick with mold killing agent and then covered the inner brick with mold killing primer. Once I had the drywall off I had two different mold remediation people come out and give me quotes to fix it. Both said with certainty that the source was a leak from the window. I did everything I could to get rid of the mold and mildew smell. Unfortunately the old wood frame the new windows sit in still smells like mildew so I need to have that frame replaced and the windows reinstalled. I saw a couple small areas where I could see light to the outside so I caulked over them but it needs to be removed and redone. I contacted the installer to see if he could do the work but he said he is booked up through October. So I called and talked to Bill again at Lake Cook Exteriors who immediately snapped at me for calling "his" installer directly. We went back and fourth and I did loose my patience with him. He did agree to come out and look at it but refused to fix it or even offer a quote to fix it. I wasn't even pointing the finger at him I just need someone to replace the frame and reinstall the window. I thought before that I would Never deal with or recommend Lake Cook Exteriors now I am certain about that. Call an installer directly you save money. This place doesn't stand behind their work anyway.

Windows were installed 2 years ago, we at that time said we were concerned about a mildew smell from the window. Wood around frame looked ok so new window placed. NOW we had black mold (took pix) all around the window and 2 mold remediation companies said it was from the window. Outside caulk had pinholes. We recaulked, tore out all drywall, treated mold and frame STILL smells. Bill came out in a huff, twisted my words and told me AFTER he smelled the mold smell on the frame that it was "fine and solid" and refused to even charge me to replace. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Leaves you stranded if there is a problem. Prideful man with no accountability. I am contacting the BBB

In need of gutters being replaced. Got 3.5 bids and went with LCE due to 3 reasons:
1). Competitive pricing. With the nice website and glossy ads and visit & samples, I figured they would be at the upper end of the price range. They were ~$500 cheaper than the highest and within $25 of the lowest.
2). People. Very responsive, answered questions, gave options, listened, and even answered the phones (don't laugh ... not all do).
3). Competence. It was clear they knew about the materials, the process, timing, products, what they were doing, etc. Straight shooters and didn't try to talk me into what was easier for them.

Results:
- Main contact was with Don who spec'ed the job and made all the arrangements. Called a few times to check the process and make sure scheduling was still good for us. Really on top of things and easy to see he really cared about the customer.
- The guy who did the job (Jon - hope I spelled it right) was amazing. Never see someone work this hard; took no short cuts but instead did EXTRA to make sure things were done better than before and better than expected. Knocked on the door a few times during the install to ask about a preference here or there (wanted to make sure when there was a choice that we would get what we wanted), took time to show some of the how's and why's.
- Afterwards LCE followed up to make sure everything was as expected ... and said call back anytime if anything else was needed.

Bottom line: Said what they were going to do and then over performed / quality people and customer oriented / very competitively priced. Highly recommended!

Lake Cook Exteriors installed brand new gutters, gutter guards and downspouts. They were outstanding to work with every step of the way - from quote to completion. Fully explained everything, advised on best approach to our problem, came up with a viable and economical solution. I highly recommend Lake Cook Exteriors.

We had 3 estimates for windows and Lake Cook Exteriors had the best price. Nolan oversaw the entire process. He is very knowledgeable and always available to answer questions. Our windows look wonderful!! This is a great family owned business and we would definitely use them again.

Where do I begin. This our second time using LCE. Quality owners and installer. Good pricing. Wonderful installation. Fast. Just a first class operation. I doubt We will purchase our third home but if we did, Lake Cook will be our choice again. When I replace the front doors and sliding door to the patio, the will be our first choice.

This horrible winter warped our front door and cold air kept getting in. I called Pella first but they wouldn’t answer my questions over the phone. I called Lake Cook Exteriors and Nolan was extremely helpful. He and Karen rushed a new door order for us and John installed it on a very cold morning. We replaced a wooden door with a fiberglass door so I was a little nervous. No need, the quality, feel and appearance are all first class, and it won’t warp again! From beginning to end, my experience with this company was excellent.

From start to finish this project went amazingly smooth. Worked with Nolan to get an estimate on installing a new front door and their price was the best I had found. Ordered the door and was kept up to date on when it would be installed. John was prompt, polite and easy to work with, he did an awesome job. Overall, this was an easy process from the moment I called until the door was installed, which by the way, looks awesome! I would use them again in a heart beat.

We had our windows installed by Lake Cook Exteriors in January 2017. We experienced leaking from a kitchen window in the middle of this summer after the installation (it had not leaked prior to the windows being installed). We gave LCE a call because they provide a warranty, so they sent out the sales rep. They assumed the leaking was due to improper closure/user error. This was not the cause, so they sent out the window installer to check the outside.

There was a piece of trim that popped off the exterior of the window so that was repaired, however, the window still leaked.

The window installer came out again and, without removing any siding or further inspecting the window, put a piece of tape over the top of the window where it met the siding. They claimed if the window still leaked, it wasn't their installation and that we likely had an issue with the roof. The window leaked again, but at this point, they refused to come out and do any further inspection, and instead referred me to a roofing company. The referral company did not do "that type of work" and I had to find an alternative roofing company myself.

Fortunately, I found a very reputable and honest company, and they came out right away to inspect the roof and siding. They could not find any issues with my roof or siding from the outside, and they said without taking the siding off, there was no way to find the source of the leaking. A deal was worked out with LCE that we would split the bill for the roofing company to repair the window, as it was not a "direct" result of the window installation, but was related to the window.

While the window was being repaired, the roofer showed me that LCE failed to place the paper barrier over the j-channel, which allowed water to seep through the siding, onto the top of the window and then into the window itself. The repair took about 20 minutes and required no new materials, and the window no longer leaks.

Instead of LCE acknowledging that they took a shortcut when installing the windows, they still charged me for half the repairs ($150 out of my pocket). I am very dissatisfied with not only their poor business practices, but with the fact that they did not actually guarantee their work. If they do not want customers to use the warranty when they need it, do not offer one. And while they had the most competitive pricing for the installation, it is clear now why. Saving 20 minutes per window on a home with over 10 windows does save a lot of time, but with the risk of there being costly damage due to poor installation. My window sill is now soft, discolored and damaged as a result of this shortcut, and they did not offer to fix that, either.

I cannot recommend this company to anyone after my experiences with them. I am still making payments on the windows and installation itself, and now this is an additional expense that could have been avoided with thorough and careful installation. I do like the windows themselves, which is why I have given LCE a two-star rating.

They guys working for this company are top notch. I am a contractor not easy to impress their gutter installer blew me away.
