I'd give 10 stars if I could. Hands down awesome experience with Kirt and team Dad+son. I requested a schedule for estimate on a Sunday and Kirt responded within 30 minutes having reviewed my roof top on line. Wow. THEN he came to our home and walked us through the process, what to expect, WHY rejuvenation was beneficial, and gave an honest appraisal of our roof's condition. He didn't hard sell us, he even told us we could put off his service for 12-18 months due to the condition of our roof. Seriously. I mean - who does THAT anymore?!!?? Right away I could tell he was an honest and up-front business man. I researched the industry standards and recommendations for rejuvenation project effectiveness and found Kirt's advice was exactly as my readings discovered. We had to reschedule our original date due to an unforeseen matter on the mainland and there was absolutely no issues adjusting to a new date. We'll have him back in 5 years or so to repeat the process. Great value for the investment of our forever home. Oh, he applied a military discount without my even asking (we talked story during the estimate so he kinda figured it out) . Thanks for everything Kirt!

I just bought a home in Kane'ohe and a friend recommended this service to extend the life of my roof. I am SO GLAD I did this! Koolau Roof Tech is a coating that is sprayed onto the roof that extends the life of the shingles for 5 - 7 years. (As Kirt explained it, it's like using a moisturizer on your skin.) I live in an area that gets a lot of rain and it feels good to know that my roof is in good condition. Kirt is extremely conscientious, diligent and trustworthy and an all-around good guy. I saw Ko'olau Roof Tech's ad and made an appointment for a roof inspection because my roof is 10 years old and I saw roofing granules coming out of my rain gutters and I wanted to prolong the life of my roof. Kirt arrived on schedule to perform the inspection. The inspection was very thorough with pictures of the condition of my roof and areas that needed minor repairs. He also gave me detail information on the company and the roof treatment product.
Kirt is always prompt and keeps you updated by text and email. Besides performing my roof treatment, Kirt secured my loose asphalt shingles, caulked around cracked caulking around solar piping and other areas that needed caulking and redid protruding nails. Kirt also provide me pictures of my roof after the treatment so I could see the before and after roof condition.
I will recommend Koolau Roof Tech to anyone who have roofing issues. Kirt is thorough, knowledgeable and gave me honest feedback on my roof assessment. He is an easy guy to talk to and very helpful.

Kirt Kobashigawa is a true professional! I called Koolau Roof Tech to conduct a roof inspection for my client. I received an immediate response and was given several dates and times as options for the inspection date. We scheduled that same week and Kirt arrived on time (actually, he arrived early) and he conducted his inspection. Excellent attention to detail. Kirt Kobashigawa and father Mas of Koolau Roof Tech were prompt, professional, and complied with safety measures on the roof. They informed us about the product, evaluated our roof condition, and did some repairs. Then they sprayed our roof with the Roof Maxx all natural product that will clean and make our roof shingles more pliable, extending the life of the shingles. We are beyond satisfied with the product and the service we received.

After the heavy rains that hit Oahu last week I was in for a rude awakening. The roof area over my laundry room had a small leak. There was a “drip drip drip” sound coming from the water from my roof hitting my dryer. Looking for a roofing expert, Yelp allows you to request a quote and it’s sent out to several companies open to quotes in the category.

Kirt from Kokua Roof Tech wasn’t the first to message me back on Yelp but he was literally the first available to actually come down and check out my roof to provide me an estimate, which was helpful since we had hit a dry spot in the heavy rains that were upon us in the next week. He came by and took and look and gave me an honest assessment and overview. My leak wasn’t major so he actually repaired it for me for free but he did give me a heads up that we would eventually need to re-tar my roof soon as it was wearing down — the UV granules were missing and washed out (this prevents the asphalt from cracking due to the sun exposure), there was “pooling” of water happening on the roof, which could affect more erosion of the asphalt on the roof.

You may say to yourself that Kirt was only telling me this so that I would eventually redo my entire roof with him. To be clear, Koolau Roof Tech aids in roof maintenance and extending the life of your roof, but not in the business to redo and re-tar the entire roof so there was really no benefit of him telling me this information other than to be helpful and give me a heads up to prevent further damage.

I noticed some discoloration on my roof. Kirt Kobashigawa recommended this roof cleaner and protector, Roof Maxx as a way to extend the life of my roof. Prior to the actual treatment, Kirt surveyed the roof and cleaned it to get rid of the moss/mold. The treatment was completed in one session. The noise level was low, there was no strong chemical smell, and there was no damage left to my surrounding plants. The best part was working with Kirt: his attention to details, his ability to explain and be understood, and his knowledge about the Roof Maxx product. His follow-up services were top notch because he returned a few days later to check-up on the effectiveness of his work.

We extended our home about 11 years ago, so we had a newer section and an older section. Kirt came out and checked our entire roof. He let us know that the older section would need a new roof, but sprayed the newer section (which is what can be seen from the road). It looks so much cleaner and now, the roof will last longer! Kirt was very professional, respecting our property. It rained unexpectedly after he sprayed our roof, which washed the product through our rain gutters and on to our driveway. While our rain gutters were cleaned by the product, it left a stain on our driveway. Kirt power washed our driveway! Surprisingly, the product didn’t hurt the plants it washed over. All in all, a 5 Star experience!
