Impressed from start to finish. Met the schedule he gave us at a reasonable cost. Workers were thorough and worked to do a professional job--not just "adequate."

The team at Kolar recently completed our master bathroom renovation and did an amazing job for a very fair price. The crew was polite, hard-working and efficient when they were onsite. The final product is exactly what we hoped for. We will definite reach out to Kolar again for renovation work.

I wouldn’t recommend them for any bathroom work. Beware…..If you’re looking to do tile work call a different company!!! This company is only concerned with booking the next job than doing quality work and be prepared to have another job booked in the middle of yours then you have to sit and wait to get your started work completed when that job is done. Then they rush to complete your work. They say the work is within the guidelines of tile work, which is funny because a we could have googled how to do tile and would have done 10 times better. If you’re looking to throw away your money, then they are your company. If your looking for quality work and contractor that cares, find someone else!!!

Jacob and his team did an excellent job on bathroom remodel I would definitely would recommend Kolar Construction for your next project.

We hired Kolar Construction for a kitchen remodel. Jake was very easy to work with, and his experience and eye for design was very evident when he was able to quickly offer up a solution for rebuilding our island. He listened to our needs and did everything in his power to meet our deadline for completion, even working around a week we were out of town.

We have had Kolar come do several projects for us, from a small partial bathroom job (replaced tub and drywall around the tub) to a full downstairs bathroom remodel to a downstairs family room remodel. The price has always been good and the work is great. Their quotes are easy to read and Jake is a text (or call) away to answer questions or get updates on things. They are always on my list to get an estimate from when doing a project. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I had them frame my deck. Jake explained the process and made everything really easy to understand. When is crew came out they were extremely professional and efficient. I was really happy with the process from start to finish!

Top notch in customer service, quality and project completion. We have used Kolar for numerous projects in our home and each one has been a success. Jake is great at setting a timeline through the whole project and communicating the updates. The whole team is wonderful - the quality of work, cleaning up, being respectful of the home setting and putting up with our over friendly boxer.

Jake and his team did a phenomenal job on an addition on our home. Throughout the whole process, Jake did a good job setting expectations, work was great, and cost was exactly as quoted. I really liked that a majority of the work was done by his company, as opposed to subcontractors, which made me feel like there was continuity between stages of the project. The project foreman, Mike, was a pleasure and ensured that I was “sure” about the few decisions I had to make. Also, shout out to Chris who noticed I didn’t love how some trim came out and made sure that I understood my options.

There were a few minor changes that came up, but Jake was accommodating and more than fair (e.g., adding on gutters, putting on a storm door, redoing some trim).

Jake put on a beautiful screen porch for us. Price was reasonable and the work was fantastic, very high quality. His team was actually able to start early, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Jake communicated with us each step of the way. We’re so happy with the final product and definitely recommend Kohler construction.

We absolutely LOVED working with Jake and the Kolar Construction crew! They were very professional and thorough. Wonderful craftsmanship! We have 4 small children and they took time to clean up the job site at the end of each work day. Our 3-season porch and attached deck came out better than we could’ve imagined! Stay far away from Jake from Kolar Construction! He and his crew took 2 months from start to finish to complete a 12’x12’ deck resurface and still never finished. He didn’t clean up his metal shavings and said it was glitter that can be blown off (see photos) from the cable railings, left various areas incomplete and with large gaps and bad workmanship, and framed steps in a way that water couldn’t escape through gaps. When I asked to fix the issues he said that it passed inspection and it was finished. How do you treat people like that when they’re paying you to do a quality job for them. I would never hire or recommend them to anyone! Buyers beware!!!

Where do I begin? Jake and his crew are amazing.

I hired Kolar Construction to work on my unfinished basement. Jake was very communicative in the beginning helping me understand everything from the unfamiliar words on the bid to what everything would cost.

After he was able to give me a bid online- I made a request for him to come out to my basement in person before I signed a contract- as I wanted to meet him and show him my ideas face to face before proceeding and he honored that request which sealed the deal for me.
I had called a few other companies for a bid and they never even responded to my calls. I knew right away that Jake being this responsive was rare in the industry and I really appreciated that.

Jake works very hard right along with his crew. His crew was extremely professional and the work is very clean, sturdy and well done! Everyone was clearly experienced and it showed. I couldn’t believe how fast they worked! They pretty much finished my basement in about six weeks. They cleaned up every time they worked and I barely had to experience any dust,dirt or mess. The construction dust was completely minimal.

I did not want to fully finish my basement (I skipped the trim and doors for now) and Jake was willing to work with me to allow me to finish the basement partially… He did not require that it was a full finish in order to work with his company.

There were a few items that I wanted to revisit during the project and Jake promptly addressed all my questions and took care of everything immediately.

The thing that stands out to me the most was that everyone who was on his crew or worked with him was really happy and seemed to truly enjoy their job. His crew infused joy into the very walls of my basement… Thank you so much Jake and crew I will definitely be coming back to you for any more work I need on my house.

They have been finishing up our house after we had a fire. The guys have been absolutely amazing! They’re great guys and they do great work!

Kolar Construction installed a new door and trim around a couple other doors for us. They were quick, professional, and left the space very clean afterwards. And the trim and door look fantastic. Can’t recommend them enough!

Kolar Construction just refaced our deck and I can’t recommend them enough! The work was done right and looks beautiful! I also can’t believe how fast they got it done. Each night they neatly packed up all the equipment and materials in my yard so it didn’t look like a big mess! The guys Jake has on his crew are as nice and professional as he is! I will definitely be recommending him to any and everyone as well as using them again for more projects around the house!

They refaced our deck and it looks amazing! They were very resourceful, affordable, and professional. I would highly recommend then time and time again and will use them on our next home project.

Strongly advise looking elsewhere if you want quality work done. Manufacturer installation specifications were an afterthought for Kolar Construction. Hired Kolar to install Azek decking and Westbury railing for our deck. Surface mount deck posts were installed without the proper stainless steel shims (provided with the posts). Deck posts were also originally installed with the wrong lag bolts. When the lag bolt issue was brought up, Jake Kolar (owner) replied "Been using 3" for 5 years". (see picture for lag bolt reference) Railing sections over 6 feet long did not have the proper center support installed. (support was supplied with the railing) 25 deck boards were cut too short to properly land on the existing structure. Jake blamed the structure as the reason he cut the boards short in order to center everything. However, after Jake's "fix" the parting board is still not centered and the deck boards on either side are different lengths.

Jake & the Kolar Construction team was amazing to work with! Their professionalism and communication made our experience stress free and our new deck has exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend Kolar Construction for any construction needs!

Kolar Construction has completed three separate jobs for my wife and I. Most recently Jake and his crew completed a deck on our new construction including Trex decking, aluminum posts and spindles, and wrapped posts and fascia. The speed and craftsmanship of the build was outstanding. Previously, Jake removed popcorn ceiling/replaced with knockdown ceiling, replaced bathroom fan, and removed shower insert and replaced with subway tile. The first project Jake completed for us was converting a loft area in a townhome into a third bedroom. This project included framing a closet, wall, tying the new wall into the old wall, and framing in a new door. Jake's communication, attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship have made us very satisfied customers. We highly recommend Kolar Construction to complete your next build/remodel.

Jake was very responsive in sorting out details. They showed up ahead of schedule, which worked out nicely. The guys were good about keeping things clean. The finished product is great, my wife is very happy. I wanted to pay him in full the day they were finishing up ! I can see why they are scheduling out so far, that kind of work is in high demand ! We had Kolar construction design and build an outside bar, a faux beam, and install two complicated backsplashes and repair some stairs and decking. What I appreciate about Jake is that he does great work, is really neat, and is a good communicator. That is not usually the case with other contractors I have used.
