Koala Insulation of East Metro Detroit

At beginning of this year, They took my advance 50% payment at quote day. Then they scheduled twice. Every time they schedule, they forced me to clean the house snow stuck. But they did not appear. Then they promised to refund. Since almost end of the year, nothing refunded! I have receipt of advance payment.

Unprofessional, incompetent, thieves, little credibility in their services.
They never refunded me 2,500 usd since May 2024. (Credit card payment) and another 2500us (debit card payment).
They just want your money and make a thousand excuses, they don't answer your calls when it comes to scamming people.
They will give you a high quote applying a SUPER discount.
You check the service and when they go to your home they want to do another job. And since you don't accept what they want to do, they cancel the service and that's when they scam you. Be careful people, don't be fooled by their bargain prices. Now I will have to resolve the problem with another instance. I will give you here the follow up where you can complain to the state of Michigan and not get ripped off.
In the end this unprofessional company stole my 5,000 usd.
I stand by what I say with proof and evidence.

Tyler was a great person to work with at Koala. He was prompt, friendly, knowledgable and informative. He is also a great communicator. This is will be the first and last time dealing with this unprofessional insulation company because of how they will drag at first to get a service from them with satisfied price after that they will take the money and your deposit without providing the service or even reaching back to you. I was astonished with their horrible experience. Tyler the sales person of the company is con artist where he will give a you quote, take your money and deposit , after that no services would be provided for no reason whatsoever and no responses from them or even the owner of the company Kyle.By the way this company does not have an actual location to reach out in person as they stated when they don’t answer their phones. Horrible experience and regret the day I called for service.

I hired Koala to install insulation into my exterior walls. They were timely and professional. I notice an immediate change in the temperature in house.

Had Koala blow in cellulose insulation into my exterior walls.
They showed up on time, and had my house done in about 6 hours. Took great care in making sure there was no cellulose blowing anywhere it shouldn’t be, and that the walls were packed tightly.
They repaired brickwork/mortar perfectly and placed back my vinyl siding like nothing ever happened. They even noticed and fixed a loose brick for me on my porch that was unrelated to the insulation install!
Crew was very friendly and informative. And their price was very fair.

Koala Insulation recently installed blown-in cellulose insulation in my attic.

Koala Insulation was very pleasant to work with. They came to my house, gave me a straightforward evaluation, and quoted me a fair price. They scheduled and performed the work in a timely fashion, and afterwards sent in paperwork to my utility for an energy-efficiency rebate.

As part of my quote-gathering process, I encountered several companies that sent teenagers with binders to try and pressure-sell me into wildly expensive home remodeling that actual contractors said was unnecessary. My experience with Koala could not have been more different. Koala was knowledgeable and professional.

I can't say enough good things about Sean and Koala Insulation. He was out for an estimate the very next day after I called. Emailed the estimate to me within a few hours and then squeezed me into his tight schedule so I can keep my job moving forward. He was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. Just an overall pleasure and what I wish every contractor experience was like. Koala will no doubt be my go to insulation company moving forward.

The crew was on time, polite and professional. They used drop cloths and cleaned up when they were done. They explained everything that they did and answered all of my questions.

They were excellent. Came out for a quote within 24hrs of my initial call. Had a quote a few hours later & a scheduled date for attic insulation. On the day of service, we’re timely, communicated well, they cleaned everything up, the final price was the same as the quote. Would definitely recommend this company. Another bonus was it’s a small, local business.

The team at Koala are great, they know what they're doing and have been doing it for a while. Our old 1924 house definitely has its quirks and is lacking insulation. Very knowledgeable about general house information as well as some of the team members have previous house inspection and building backgrounds, they'll tell you about potential problems that may exist before insulation can be added to ensure your house is safe and warm. Great team, highly recommend!

I had several quotes before choosing Koala Insulation and was about 35% less expensive, if not more. I have two bedrooms in the upper level and always cold in the winter and hot during the summer.
Wow! What a difference Koala made, they knew what they were doing, it's actually comfortable now. I thought about adding mini splits in each bedrooms before Koala did their magic, and now I don't have to, money saved. They went and sprayed foam all the interior walls and had blown insulation covered every inch of my upper level floor. They added more vent flutes (pink stuff)They even cleaned out my attic of old carpeting and stuff!
To boot that, Sean and Rob were really nice and respectful guys. I watched and asked questions and they were more than happy to answer my questions and showed me what they were doing, without impeding their work. Really glad I had Koala doing the job and now I recommended them to my sister and everyone else.

Our home had a very hot upper level when we moved in. We got several quotes from insulation companies that were all higher than Koala, but we went with Koala because Sean actually addressed the problem (attic ventilation) rather than the symptom (hot upstairs) with a very practical, affordable solution that wasn't selling us things we didn't need. We were so thrilled with the work Sean and team did! He was so communicative and even offered us some tips of things we could do to keep the house cooler until they were able to come do the work. Our upstairs is much more comfortable now!

Koala co-owner, Rob Brachel, set a quick appointment, showed up on time, and gave me a full explanation of his no pressure bid. Once I made my decision, he scheduled the install within 48 hours.
The crew, led by co-owner Sean Hodges, was also on time. They put drop cloths everywhere, were polite and courteous, worked very efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards.
I am normally a DIY type of person, with 15 years as the owner of my own remodeling company. But this attic insulation job was especially difficult. The roof has a 3/12 pitch, so the attic had very limited maneuvering space. But koala took on the challenge and did an excellent job!

Sean and his team arrived early and did an amazing job sealing the exterior facing ceiling of my basement + addition space. They covered my basement belongings with plastic tarp to protect everything, pulled out older/outdated existing fluff insulation (and hauled the junk away) and installed the spray foam all within 2 hours! Very easy to communicate and I highly recommend this company no matter the size of your spray foam insulation project! Thank you again!

Koala was recommended to us by Angie's List. They were prompt and courteous, and they provided a very reasonable quote. They explained every step, and were very knowledgeable about their product. Installation took less than one day, and they cleaned up when they were finished. I can't even tell they were here (except our house is warmer).

Hired for spray foam insulation in my crawl space. The guys did an excellent job, very tidy and exactly what they said they would do.

I reached out to a number of companies in Detroit for an estimate and ending up choosing Koala for a job involving installing blown in and spray foam insulation. They did an amazing job, were in and out in less time then they originally estimated (half day), charged me a very reasonable rate, and cleaned up EXTREMELY thoroughly. Rob, who did my estimate, was very communicative and responsive throughout the process, plus he was very knowledgeable about the homes in my area and common problems. They were honest about what could and couldn't be done in my home, so I knew I wasn't being overcharged or paying for extraneous work. I'm glad I chose Koala and will be hiring them for additional insulation projects throughout the year.

If you need you insulation you need to call Rob at Koala Insulation. Rob and his team were responsive, polite, clean, and professional. I have redone a few houses and wish I found these guys earlier.
