What I appreciated about Matt was his no-pressure approach to the proposal as well as his clear knowledge of the trade when answering our questions.
I also appreciated how his proposal came in at the lowest price relative to the other proposals we received, without even needing to haggle.
Despite 95° weather, his crew came on the day they said they would and worked for 14 hours in the extreme heat to make sure the job was done in one day and then had the dumpster removed bright and early by the next morning.

Bruttell Roofing recently replaced our roof in Oakland Township. We were very pleased with the quality of the work. The crew of 7 roofers was extremely hard working, and they cleaned the area of nails and debris after they completed the new roof. The salesman and supervisor, Matt Smith, was in contact with us throughout the selection of our shingles, the date of installation, and progress of our roof installation. What most impressed me about Matt was that he was very knowledgeable about roofing. In particular, he was aware that we did not have sufficient ventilation in our attic and this had caused water stains in our second floor ceilings. He also noted that our 3 bathrooms did not have exhausts that were vented to the outside. These deficiencies were stated in our contract and corrected in the new roof.

In summary, we were very pleased with Bruttell Roofing. We highly recommend them!

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I’ve had with Bruttell Roofing during a recent roof replacement project at my business. While the new roof was being installed, I suffered significant damage to multiple parts of my facility—none of which existed prior to the project and all of which occurred during the time their crew was actively working on the roof.

A major water leak during the project caused $5,000 in damage to our fire alarm system, which now requires complete replacement.

Another leak inside a closet destroyed hundreds of dollars in inventory, directly impacting our operations.

Most concerning, my central air unit is now inoperable. I have photo documentation of a Bruttell worker hammering trim directly on top of the unit, which clearly shows disregard for the equipment. The AC system was working fine prior to the roofing work.

Despite bringing these issues to their attention, Bruttell Roofing has repeatedly denied any responsibility for the damage—refusing to acknowledge the clear correlation between their time on the roof and the resulting issues. Their refusal to take accountability has left me no choice but to retain legal counsel and pursue this matter in court.

I strongly urge others to think twice before hiring this company. In my experience, their lack of responsibility and poor communication in the face of clear and documented damages has been incredibly frustrating and costly.

I live in a condo and there was some wind damage to my roof.

After having four companies out to give us a quote on our very old roof on our newly purchased home, we decided on Bruttell both because of the price and the detailed inspection Matt did. He explained everything to us, both up in the attic and outside, and helped make the decision easy.

Brutell Roofing did an outstanding job re-roofing our steeply pitched roof 15 years or so ago, so we called them when we discovered a leak at the site of a second floor set-back window. They came out quickly, checked the whole area, found no issue with the roof above or below the window, but found lots of spots around the frame that needed recaulking. They did that recaulking on the spot. Much appreciated.

Bruttel Roofing was great for installing a roof and gutters on my house in November. They were fast with the install and even got me the new roof a few days earlier than expected. It's a high quality roof for a very reasonable price. Matt Smith got me all set up with samples, dates and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with how things turned out. I would recommend them for anyone looking to get a new roof. I will say the only downside was how early they started working - it meant I had to be up and putting my car on the street at 7am. Otherwise things went extremely smoothly.

I can't say enough good things about Bruttell Roofing. They were very professional from the beginning. Communication from Matt, the sales rep, was great! The job for both my house and detached garage was done in one day. Clean up was done right away. Someone came out the very next day and took care of nails in the driveway, and other smaller items. It was impressive working with Bruttell Roofing to replace the roof on our house. Matt Smith was responsive and thorough in evaluating and determining what was needed and made sense, much more so than other companies that looked at it. Their price was also competitive. When the crew came in, patiently handled by their Project Manager, Coty Stallard, and their diligent Foreman, Oleh, they banged the thing out in one day. The clean up that followed was like nobody had been there. All done - admirably and capably.

Would like to thank Matt Smith and Bruttell Roofing for a job well done. They were able to work within our Church budget and give us a roof that will last for a very long time.

Sloppy workmanship, see pics. Shingled portion looks great, but the flashing is unevenly trimmed, and the caulking is as I said, sloppy. Homes in my neighborhood are a variety of styles and ages and I have yet to see this level of carelessness. What is most disappointing is that when pointed out to the project manager he defended the work as perfect and told me that nobody is even going to look at this. He begrudgingly said someone would be out to re-work. Re-working turned out to be covering with a larger piece of flashing material.
Our home is an older brick Tudor. If your roof has a simple line with minimal architectural detail, you will probably be fine. If your roof has complex architectural features, look for someone with the experience and sense of craftsmanship to carry this off.
I will say the clean-up during and after construction was top notch.
Edit: Manager insisted on providing 2 new outer domes on 2 existing sun tunnels. They unsealed the existing (never leaking) sun tunnels and plunked new oversized outer domes on top without sealing to the sun tunnels. We now have a steady stream of condensation dripping in. Unacceptable.

They did a great job on my house and garage. Matt Smith, Coty Stallard and their crew were a pleasure to work with and they did amazing job cleaning up after they were finished.

Matt and Coty absolutely killed it with my roof installation! I requisitioned a full roof replacement on a dilapidated home that I had bought and Matt was able to identify the perfect solution for me.

Not only did they replace my roof, but they were also able to replace a piece of missing fascia/side paneling that was missing that I didn’t catch on my own inspection.

On top of that, my chimney was super old and loose. Matt and Coty sealed it, secured it, and made it absolutely pop compared to every other home in the neighborhood.

To be frank, I didn’t think roofing mattered a lot for the aesthetic of a home when the roof wasn’t easily visible from the road, but when I rolled up to my home after their work was done, I was in immediate awe and wished I had known of Matt and Coty’s work decades ago.

My roof is absolutely gorgeous, my house sticks out in a beautiful way compared to every single other house on the street, and I‘ve gawked at my roof and chimney on this home more than I’ve ever done on all of my other homes combined.

Bruttell replaced the roof on our rental property. They were easy to deal with, did a good job and were fairly priced.

Bruttell recently did a re-cover for one of my client sites. It was a big job that started just before the holidays. The team that worked at the site was professional and patient especially when dealing with some challenging personalities. They were especially helpful to me as the Project Manager and had no problem with me asking to be onsite to meet the inspector (who was an absolute delight to walk the finished project with). I would happily work with them again.

If I could give this company -100 stars I would. They broke many fire laws and did not care if they dropped shingles on your head. (No spotters on the ground.)

I do not recommend them. There are plenty of good roofers -- you don't have to use this company.

The people doing the work couldn't speak English and "the foreman" couldn't either and was extremely rude. It took them a week to put a new roof on.

Please note: The gas can was right next to a machine that was running and steps away from the entrance of the building.

They were low bid "brutal" risky roofers. They just don't care. My contractor friend said to call the fire marshall because they didn't care if they blocked entrances/exits or kept gasoline next to a running machine. I'm sure they didn't care if they dropped shingles on a person.

I had a very good news/bad news experience with the company when they did my recent insurance job.

Good News: My roof was completed in a timely manner, and it seems to be a very competent job.

Bad News: However, they also broke my roof stack off, which fell and punched holes in the ceilings of two rooms, and they didn't clean up well enough and I wound up with a roofing nail in my tire.

Good News: My ceilings were promptly repaired and repainted, and their contractors did a nice job. My roof stack took two tries to get fixed correctly, but they got there eventually (I had a plumber inspect it afterward)

Annoying News: They never even answered when I contacted them about my tire, even when I sent a photo plainly showing a roofing nail that had been removed from it.

In short, your roof will look nice, but they might accidentally tear the rest of the house down while they do it.

My Sale Consultant was Matt Smith, who went out of his way to explain everything to me and made suggestions to cut costs. He requested to see my attic in order to assess my needs properly. Other roofing companies did NOT request to see my attic before writing an estimate. Other roofing companies routinely charge customers for re-decking. Whereas Matt said re-decking is performed upon discovery on an "AS NEEDED" basis. I thanked Matt for being a HONEST roofer. I thanked Matt and his crew for doing an excellent job cleaning-up afterwards.

They did a great job. Matt sayed true to his quote and was very fair on pricing. Explained all my options and answered my questions throughout the process and even after the work was done. Friendly crew, it’s been almost a month since the replacement and I have yet to find a nail in the yard or driveway which is wonderful. As a new homeowner I don’t have a lot of experience with contractors but they set the bar high.

They did work to my slate room. Required a lot of work. Replacing a large pan in a valley and removing and replacing slates and gutter. No leaks after their service. Seems to be holding up well!

Had them come back for a second job. They installed a copper window cap and some detailing on the old house. The team was very attentive and careful. They asked questions throughout the process and made sure I was happy with the design. They did a very nice job and I am pleased with the work.
