We highly recommend Kittleson Landscape. What a night and day experience from the previous company we dealt with. After getting 4 bids to fix the horrible job the previous company did, Kittleson stood out. It also helped my neighbor used them to do a retaining wall. We saw them using lasers to measure and make sure everything was square and level, not what previous dude did. We loved the little extras touches they did with the big rocks to help where rain water can erode the landscape and level out areas. We are very happy with their final outcome. They were very fair in their pricing and their crew was professional and courteous. Thank you to Ryan and his crew!

Kittleson Landscaping is second to none! We recently built a new home and wanted a beautiful looking yard that would be low maintenance and still be appealing. Craig designed the perfect plan for us. Kittleson Landscape crew are fantastic! We had a one-day project and Kirk was very responsive beforehand and transparent about cost. The crew came out and were so friendly, respectful to our property and neighbors (and our dog!!), and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves (leaf blowing, sweeping, etc.) We are so happy with the outcome and it really feels like they went above and beyond. We'll be using them for all future landscaping needs!

We sat down with Craig two years ago and told him what we were thinking for our front yard--and he came up with the perfect design and we loved it! The following year we saw a few more improvements and he did it again! Craig and his crew listened and came through with what we invisioned. And the people doing the work were always polite, personable and kept us up to date on what they were doing. We will always call Kittlson for any future work.

They recently completed our daughter’s landscaping at her new house. They made the entire experience enjoyable, and she is thrilled with the results. Her lot was small and as you cans see they built a beautiful retaining wall, outdoor patio, firepit and pergola with porch swings making a great outdoor living/entertaining space.

The good folks at Kittleson, led by Kirk, solved our longstanding rain-drainage issues on their first try. Rainwater was draining into our backyard garden house, and we couldn't figure out how to stop it. Kirk came up with a reasonable design that absorbed the water at its source and just outside the garden house. The Kittleson crew came out shortly after and did all the work in one day -- a big project. Voila - no water now comes into the greenhouse. Our family is a big fan of Kittleson. We highly recommend them to others, and if there's another landscaping project, there's no question they are the ones we would contact. They are great professionals.

Craig and his team laid a ton of groundwork for our newly built home, and we simply couldn't be happier! We contracted for grading, grass seed, a short (but long) retaining wall, a large patio, and mulch beds around the foundation, and everything turned out better than we had hoped. Craig was great at providing suggestions along the way to support our long term vision for our house (even though we couldn't do everything at once). We really appreciated that he was willing to work with us on what we planned to DIY vs hire out to do. He also provided great estimates that were spot on with the final cost. His team was very efficient too - it wasn't uncommon for them to show up when we were leaving for work and then we came home to a completely different yard! I highly recommend Craig and his team to anyone who's looking for landscaping work in the Mt. Horeb/Blue Mounds area.

Kittleson Landscaping came out the day after we called for an estimate. They worked us in as we were up against a tight deadline. Knowing nothing about landscaping, they were able to advise us of what would look best and even how we could save some money on it. They were efficient and professional and even did extra work that wasn't in the quote, at no charge! We HIGHLY recommend Kittleson!

This landscape company is like no other we have worked with! What an amazing crew of guys! From our very first meeting with Kirk we were impressed with his professionalism, cost saving ideas (we had a very large multi season project)and friendly manner. When we met the crew we were again impressed. I have seen many men working over the years that get upset and swear, throw things, and belittle other men on the job. That never happened here and they have spent multiple months with us working.The crew really seems to enjoy each other and the work they do, it's nice to look out the window and see them smile and laugh with each other. On some of the hotter days, the kids wanted to bring them popsicles, the fellas that could stop working for a few minutes always smiled and chatted with the kids. To me, that says a lot about a mans character. That is the kind of men all the Kittleson crew seems to be.
They communicated with the other companies working here on timelines, and when/how things needed to be in order for the job to be completed on time for everyone involved. At the end of every day, the leaf blowers came out and the ENTIRE job site was cleaned up. Tools and equipment were stacked and stored neatly. To me, that shows the care the company has in its equipment and service. The trucks always come to the job site clean, they don't drive in with piles of mud and leave a mess as I know some other companies do. Kittleson definitely takes pride in their work!
There were quite a few hiccups on the this job (weather and Mother Nature related) that have derailed the plan or plant and tree designs. Kirk and the team just rolled with the flow, and came up with new ideas that didn't blow the budget.
Every step of the way Kirk kept us on budget, stopped out multiple times to check on us and the work being done.

UNDER BUDGET!! Yes, the work came in under budget. I'll talk about that a bit later....What Kittleson never knew is that we only bid out the job to Kittleson and another landscaping company. The other company never got back to us and we really wanted to get the retaining walls put in because out house was finished the year before. I should also mention that we researched if we could do retaining walls on our own but all of our research led us to the same conclusion that we really need a professional. Thus, I was happy the retaining walls were getting put in, but I had no expectations for Kittleson. Recently we had some awful experiences with contractors so I prepared myself for a subpar job that would come in over budget so I would neither be shocked or disappointed. Boy was I wrong!!!

My impression changed once the guys started working on yard. The gentleman working on the retaining walls had been working for them for years. He is a local guy and he lives in Barneveld too. He also explained that his brother worked for Kittleson. It really means something to me when local companies use local talent. He said he was treated well by Kittleson. That meant something to me too. I have no idea how he stacked rocks so quickly with one piece of construction equipment but he did it. It looked great.

In addition to the retaining walls, the yard had to be prepped for grass seed. There were more guys who worked on it. One of them was the owner's son. That kid wasn't getting any special treatment. He was working just as hard as the rest of the team. It was such a hot day. It was probably over 90. I was nervous that they were working when it was so hot. They were able to wrap it up early that day which made me SO happy but I was impressed with their work ethic.

Kittelson worked around some shrubs that I had planted. Some of the shrubs were in the way and they offered to move them for me. I expected line items charges for the shrubs that they replanted. I was not charged by them. I was shocked.

We also opted for them to put grass seed on our lawn. I was a bit concerned about the grass seed. We were in drought this past summer and grass seed requires a tremendous amount of watering. We often had three sprinklers going at the same time. We had to keep moving the sprinklers around to keep the grass moist. I probably was able to do about 90% of what they specified for watering. Sometimes I just ran out of time to get every part of the lawn watered. I mean that the sun had set and I could not work at night. I really was concerned that I wasn't doing a good enough job and the grass would die especially with the drought. It didn't die. It grew!!

Kittelson did something else that impressed me. I had purchased three spireas. They looked completely dead. I have no idea why I still continued to water them. However, Kittelson thought that they would come back to life if I watered them. Well, I took their advice and they were right. By the end of the summer there were flowers blooming and they looked normal.

Now going back to the budget issue. When working with previous contractors everything came in over budget. We felt taken advantage of on numerous occasions by previous contractors. I was just waiting for the surprise "charges" from Kittleson. That never happened. The told us that the work they performed did not take as long as they anticipated so they did not charge us. I am beyond grateful for the work they performed.

Came in under estimate on a rock retaining wall project. It looks amazing and we are so happy with the wall. The crew that built the wall were great. You can tell they took care picking which rocks would look best, adjusting things as they went. Overall very impressed with the company and the work they did on our home.

I highly recommend Kittleson Landscape, Kirk was great to work with and always returned my calls in a timely manner. The landscaping that I had done looked amazing and was finished in only two days. My property was immaculate when they were done and even took the time to straighten out my gravel driveway! I'm very pleased with Kittleson, great work you guys!

I could not be happier with my landscaping project. Craig and his crew did an amazing job on my patio, shoreline and yard landscaping. They are experts when it comes to any type of project but especially lake homes. They thought of things that I would not have to make my home protected from flooding and beautiful. They were quick, on time, professional and flexible when we needed to make some changes. This was my second project with them and both have exceeded my expectation. I highly recommend them for landscaping projects large and small.
