K Construction

We have been clients of K Construction since we purchased our current home on Burleigh Street in late 2018 and have been happy with all of the work they have done for us. Initially we needed them to take care of some deferred maintenance items—a new roof and new siding. They completed these projects in a timely manner and with obvious excellent workmanship so we decided to contract them to do a couple of other outdoor projects for us. They built a 4th car garage and rebuilt an old deck into a screened porch, covered deck and open deck, all of which we were extremely pleased with. These additions to the house were built to compliment the original house and actually improve the visual appeal of the house. We then began on the inside of the house. They replaced all of the flooring in the house, remodeled two bathrooms, removed wallpaper and painted and completed many other small projects in the house as they came up. The quality of their finishing work in the house was amazing. Several times they had to craft new pieces to add something we wanted to change in the house and all of those projects match the original woodwork in the house. Most recently they replaced the majority of windows and patio doors in the house. Throughout all of these projects we have been pleased with the work done by K Construction. The quality of work they do is excellent. Their employees are hardworking and pleasant to deal with. They are dependable, show up when they say they will and clean up after themselves. They are helpful in their advice and recommendations as they work on a project and are just an overall outstanding group of people. Judy and Roger Willcut

We had a very poor experience using K Construction. The list of issues is quite long, but highlighted by refusing to acknowledge our request for shelves in our master shower, lying about fixing drywall tape that wasn’t properly adhered, and putting in a light switch that controls nothing in a brand new home. Would not recommend them for anything.
Edited(1 star to 3 star): They were made aware of all these issues while our home was under construction, but were finally willing to reach out and improve the issues as best they could after this was posted.

We moved here almost 4 years ago and K Construction have done all of our home projects from finishing our shell basement to a new deck and railing on the back of the house. All of the crew are amazing, communicative professional and absolute perfectionists. Ryan coordinated everything and kept us in the loop on everything from delay in material to time that the crew was showing up to timelines. We picked all the material and they got it done on time and on budget. I would give them more than a 5 star review. This is an honest, not pushy company and they have your best interest all the time. They are amazing and the best!!

Being new to Yankton, and having purchased an 11 year old home, we needed some repairs and updates. We had no idea which construction company to call, but received suggestions from local building supply companies. One name was common among them, K Construction.
Our deck needed structural repairs and improvements. Ryan, the project manager, discussed the details of the project and gave us a timely estimate. He was up front about schedule and expectations, which we appreciated. He was able to get our project worked-in sooner than expected. The project was completed in short order with very high quality.
We returned to K Construction for our kitchen remodel. They gutted and rebuilt our kitchen. Once started, K Construction ensured that progress occurred daily, to expedite the completion of the project. K Construction crews were timely, courteous, thorough and demonstrated a high level of creativity and craftsmanship. We will use K Construction on future projects.

K Construction built my sunroom a few years ago a did a fabulous job. They are very professional, VERY hard workers and left my yard spotless. They worked a full days work, sometimes from 6:00AM until 8:00 or 9:00PM. They were always available for any questions I may have had and gave me some wonderful ideas on how to improve the plans to make it the best for my family.

Repaired 130 year old house trim by roof and windows in attic. They did very good work and always cleaned up the days waste.

We appreciated the level of communication and professionalism that your company demonstrated during our project. Jeremiah was foreman, and he found a solutions for every step along the way as we have the exterior upgrade looking the way we wanted and within budget too!

K constructed a ranch home for us. The home well built. After five years we have no issues, no cracking from settling. The flow of water from drainage in the garage goes directly to the drain from all areas and dries with out low spots. All in all good construction.

We initially contacted K Construction to remodel 2 bathrooms and it morphed into repairing water damage in 2 bedrooms and adding a master closet. The project managers gave us excellent guidance on layout and design issues, and the quality of the workmanship of all phases of the project was impeccable. The attention to detail was outstanding. We are so pleased with every part of the project. K Construction made a stressful situation for us manageable.

The development and planning phases through the completion of our new home with K Construction was exceptional. They listened to what we wanted in a new house; along with our price range; and met are expectations in the design to the completion of the house. Being an amateur woodworker and overseeing the completion of three major school projects I had previous expereinces with construction projects and K Construction was exceptional. As with any projects there will be differences of opinion on what can be done in relation to building codes and what the owner desires, but we were able to come to a positive solution for both parties involved. Since the completion of our house I have had K Construction complete two driveway extensions on our separate driveways and have no reservations on contacting the company for a third driveway extension in the future. The front office representatives know you as an indivdual and are readily available to assist when stopping by the office. In my professional opinion K Construction is a quality construction company and is expanding by doing the correct process and procedures for the client.

We had K Construction refurbish a 100 year old granary for use as a hunting lodge. The attention to detail concerning existing structure and protection of future uses was well thought out and executed. We would highly recommend them as one of your future contractor options.

K Construction built my townhome, and I have had them back for various upgrades. They have done excellent work, and are so pleasant to have in your home. They are conscientious, courteous, and true craftsmen.

K Const. has done 2 remodel type projects for the Wireless World location that I manage. The communication has been great. The quality of their work is great. They are available when you reach out to them. Jason, Ryan, and Josh are always professional and easy to work with. Dylan was foreman of last job and on the daily did a great job. Very happy with the service and quality.

Some years back, I had Jason come in and do interior painting of our home. He did a wonderful job, was courteous, got the job done in a timely manner and was very helpful in making sure that we had the right colors for our painting job. It took 3 tries before we got the colors that matched my swatches as it was an error in paint mixing from the paint store. Very pleasant to work with!

The entire remodel project was amazingly great. The quality, professionalism and integrity of the company and all of the workforce was consistent start to finish. When I didn't know quite what I wanted at times, they helped me figure it out. Excellent work and service from tearout to completion. Details matter. These guys are the very best.

I can’t speak to quality yet as construction has not started! But I can certainly comment on how carefully we have been listened to, how honestly we have been advised (is that a good or not good idea) and how willing to put up with changing minds our amazing Project Manager has been! We are knocking out our front entrance and making a ramp entry, reinventing our kitchen and lots more. We have had to make choices from a long list of “we wannas” that our PM had to draw up and get cost estimates for us in order for us to pick out what we really needed and could afford. His willingness to help us by taking that time has made this a long front-end effort for him, but so important for us. Can hardly wait for work to start!!!

K Construction remodeled a bathroom for us. It was a great experience! They did a wonderful job, they were professional, easy to work with and the communication was terrific. I highly recommend them!

We had the crew from K Construction convert a deck into a 3 season room and they did a tremendous job. Their staff was very patient with us as we made changes along the way and made some great recommendations. They also did some special things to assist us, like painting a portion of the outside of the room with sample colors so we could choose the final color to paint the entire house, and they squeezed the house painting in as that wasn't part of the original bid. This is now our favorite room in the house thanks to them. We would gladly and highly recommend K Construction to others.

Had them do painting and was extremely satisfied with the job well done. Prepared building first and then did a top job painting. They came on time and did a good job.

We hired K Construction to replace our front door and patio door. Both were done in a timely and professional manner. They were neat, precise, and efficient. We would definitely hire them again!

The house quality is impeccable, spray in insulation, pea size gravel for drainage around the foundation, over all quality of materials used.

First we would like to say that K Construction is made up of an amazing group of men. They were professional, honest, answered all of our questions, and built us a beautiful home. These guys just built our new church facility for us. We could not have been blessed with a better team for this task. The work is top-notch, and was done in a timely manner. There are a million great things we could say about the company, the crew, and the owners, but you just need to hire them and find out for yourself how great K Construction is.
