We used J&J to put up new siding on our house. We got other quotes but our best experience was with Erik from J&J. He gave us a competitive price and answered all of our questions. We went with J&J because of the extra details that they were adding. They used better materials for the outside corners, the new shutters and the light blocks. Our Project Manager was Jacob and he was great. He responded quickly and efficiently to any issues that came up. He was always easy to contact. Tom was the guy who put up the siding and he was very meticulous and was very detail oriented throughout the whole job. He did a fantastic job. I would absolutely use J&J to do more work for us.

We cannot tell you how important that initial contact is when deciding to work with a particular company. The sales person that first works with you is a huge factor in determining if you feel comfortable in choosing that company as there needs to be very good communication and complete and accurate explanations right from the start. Beginning with the initial meeting with Ryan, we felt very comfortable talking with him and he was very helpful with sharing ideas, and he quickly understood what we were looking for including the type of styles that we liked. Then when we met Dave (roofing and gutters project manager) and Dan, (exterior project manager) we were very impressed with their attention to detail as they were very thorough with understanding and recording all the work that we were having done. Their friendly and approachable attitude made us feel very comfortable talking with them and asking questions and even letting them know if something was not quite what we wanted.

With any new company when you first start to deal with them you do not know what to expect but over time you build a level of trust as things get worked out when issues arise and the company is right there to make it right. That defines J&J perfectly, we found that they were always as good as their word. We never had to worry about anything as they took care of it all.

Everyone we worked with including Dave and Dan, your inhouse roofing crew, to Peter who did the painting and especially Tom who did all the carpentry work, we felt very comfortable working with them and truly missed them when they were finished as we felt like they had become friends. We had J&J put a new roof on our house in July, 2025. Every person we talked to was courteous and explained the process to us thoroughly. We remodeled an existing one-bathroom home and constructed a second bathroom from a covered porch into a beautiful ensuite bathroom. J&J Contractor’s draftsman, Tim Z., along with the assistance of designers Taylor and Baily, turned the dream into two bathrooms that far exceeded our expectations. Our project with JNJ was small. We were remodeling a bathroom and changing our laundry room floor tile. The bottom line on any project is whether the end user is happy with the results. And we were! At the end of the day, both areas came out looking much better than we had originally anticipated.

Working with the JNJ team was easy. Dan and Sarah were both a pleasure to work. They were efficient, great communicators, and very enjoyable to work with.

After J&J Contractors did a roof replacement on my 1930s bungalow last May, hiring them to replace all my windows was a no-brainer. Working on older homes can be difficult and complex. The installation of the new Provia windows has made a significant difference in the way my house operates. Humidity levels are consistently at 50% from basement to 2nd floor. Our go to contact with J & J is Dave. He returns phone call, and calls with dates of projects and after the job is completed he follows up seeing the completed job. He’s very knowledgeable and dependable and makes the project easy for us. We always Love working with him.

After 27 years our roof and gutters on our home and detached garage needed to be replaced. I had watched J&J Contractors replace a neighbors roof a number of years back and liked their style. After obtaining a few estimates from several contractors my wife and I stoped at their office. We were greeted with wonderful staff. Eric came from his office and we set up an appointment the next day for an inspection at 10:00 AM. He arrived ON TIME with a smile. We discussed our options, with absolutely NO PRESSURE! The price was exactly what we expected and the time frame for work was established. Dave was our project manger and oversaw all aspects of the work requested. I can't say enough about Dave. When we had a question, he responded almost immediately, and addressed our concern. The installation crew was also always on time and treated our property as if it were theirs. Cleanup occurred daily and even sometimes before lunch if our doorway was obstructed. When it was time for final payment there were no surprises. Thank you J&J Contractors! We built our house with J&J Custom Homes and they did a phenomenal job, so naturally we hired them again when it was time to finish our basement. Once again, we were so satisfied with the service we received.

Our project manager, Josh, was so communicative and visited the job site multiple times per week to monitor progress and make sure we were satisfied. He explained the process and kept us informed of the timeline, kept the whole project moving at a steady clip, and was flexible and respectful of our home and time. Even when he had to be out of town for a week, he arranged for a substitute manager so that there was no break in the work.

Our designer, Reagan, was easy and fun to work with. She rolled easily with our ideas and had wonderful suggestions when we weren't sure about design choices. Hanging out with her on the day that we picked fixtures and countertops was pretty fun and she had the knowledge and creativity to make our project fun and easy.

Our basement looks fantastic and has become lovely, useful new space in our home. The work was done quickly and with the quality that we've come to expect from J&J.

J&J Contractors did an outstanding job on the Pavilion at Grant Park in South Milwaukee. The repair contractors were Chris Kelley, Josh Leach and Joey Leach. They replaced our roof, repaired the fascia, installed new gutters and painted the entire structure with exceptional quality and care. Despite our tight timeline for the end-of-May opening, Jason Cyborowski squeezed us in and delivered everything on time even though they encountered rainy weather. Professional, reliable, and highly skilled-highly recommend J&J for any construction or remodeling needs!

I had my roof, siding, and downspouts changed due to hail damage; and I had RainDrop gutter guards added. Everyone was efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Eric took care of the initial contact. Dave handled the roof. Jacob handled the siding. Dave and Jacob had crews that knew what they were doing and went about their business. They were all wonderful about communicating what was happening. I've worked with other contractors who were terrible at communicating. It was a pleasure to work such a great team! My house looks like new!

J&J installed carpeting and painted our main bedroom. We love the new carpet. The painting was very well done. Josh M was great to work with. He kept us very informed throughout the process and disassembled and reassembled a very large children’s bed in the process. We would definitely recommend J&J.

We recently completed a complete outdoor upgrade, and a kitchen remodel/expansion into an unused office space. My wife met Jason at a NARI home remodel show. For a little context my father-in-law was a General Contractor in Lake County, IL who retired in 2010 and passed in 2017. She knew after the first 5 minutes she was treated no different than if it had been me. J&J was an amazing contractor from design, product selections, unforeseen problems, suggestions, and the entire remodeling process. Our old kitchen layout was horrible. Only 1 person could occupy the space at time. Two of us had no space to work, moving from fridge, to counter, to stove had us running into each other and trying to find counter space. The designers created the kitchen we wanted in colors, textures, and materials we wanted. The design was put to the test last weekend. We had a college graduation and engagement party. At one time, there were 4 of us working on different dishes and there were no space issues! At one point, after the prep, the kitchen became a gathering area. It was reminiscent to me of my childhood and my grandmother's kitchen. It finally made this house feel like home to me. Jeff Davis was our project manager for both the inside and outside projects. I can't say enough good things about Jeff. Even though he had other projects, he had a way to make you feel as if you were the only client he had. We previously had a brand name company's renewal windows and a patio door installed in 2009. As the old patio door was removed, it was discovered, that the sill and the sub-floor were completely rotted. Jeff arrived within thirty minutes. Within an hour of that the framer was here, and the door went in late in day. By the way this was in January, so Jeff was able to rectify the as soon as possible. We were undecided on undercounter dimmable LED lighting, and on extending it around a corner. Both Jeff and the electrician convinced us it would be a better experience for us with older vision. I think it is the best advice we were given. The cabinet installer was phenomenal! No, older home is perfectly square or plumb. There was a 4-foot span of cabinets where the ceiling was off by 7/8"! He was able to work the crown moulding so there were no gaps and all of the corners and detents in those corners matched perfectly! We did face the normal issues that would occur with any remodeling project. Things like a back ordered material, some utility buried in an old soffit that was being removed which needed to be re-routed, the stove overhead fan exhaust pipe was off center. Jeff maintained exceptional communication with us. We plan on updating trim, doors, vanities, flooring in the rest of the house. We will be using J&J for that project when we are ready! I still occasionally find myself just standing there and admiring the workmanship! Thank you, J&J Contractors and our project manager Jeff for an exceptional transformation!

I recently had J&J repair structural damage and put on a complete new roof after a tree fell on the house. It's a complicated roof, with 7 skylights, 9 different slopes, lots of valleys, and the lap siding is natural rough-sawn cedar. Communication was great, the guys doing the siding & roof not only worked hard every day (even though it went from 80F to snow over 3 days), but the quality of the result was great, especially the skylights (far better than other contractors I've had do skylight work). I recommend J&J, and will look to them for future remodeling work.

J&J did an awesome job with my new gutters and gutters guards. They were professional, prompt, great communicators and did excellent work. I've used them for other home projects and will continue to do so. I highly recommend them!

We had an egress window installed by J&J. I got 4 price quotes and selected J&J even though they were not the lowest bidder. Their reputation and professionalism helped us make the decision. We were not disappointed. The work was flawless. We were most impressed with our project manager, Dan C.. We are repeat customers of J&J Contractors and highly recommend them! J&J was recommended to us by a trusted builder when we were looking to have our windows and doors replaced a couple of years ago. The team was professional, timely, and thorough. The cost was also reasonable for the work we had done (all windows and casings replaced and stained). Given the positive experience, in fall 2024, we asked J&J for a quote to renovate our master bathroom. While there, Jason (the owner) pointed out that our roof was due to be replaced and recommended we prioritize that over the bathroom. We appreciated the advice and had the roof, gutters, and some siding replaced. Again, the craftsmanship was high quality, timely, and the team was professional. We are now discussing with J&J the potential to renovate our first floor as we continue to keep our 20-year-old home updated.

Our roof shingles installed by another company hadn’t sealed properly and began to leak into the kitchen ceiling years later. We contacted J&J for help. Ryan put in a lot of effort talking with the shingle manufacturer and was instrumental in getting our warranty claim approved. We received payment from the shingle manufacturer and Josh came out and did the repair work along with a few other minor issues that hadn’t been done correctly by the original installer. Thank you to Ryan and Josh and the rest of the J&J team that made this happen. We were kept well informed during the claims process and of what to expect during the repair work. A very professional team.

We remodeled the lower level of our home. This included removing carpeting, installing LVP flooring, removal wallpaper, extensive painting, and some areas for new carpeting. My wife and I could not be happier with the entire process. Everybody has heard of the nightmares of building or remodeling. This narrative was completely flipped by J&J Construction. Right from the top down all were so professional and timely. I want to give a particular shout out to the project manager, Josh Miotto who had incredible communication skills. We used J&J for our new home siding project 7 years ago. Recently, J&J did our siding and roofing on a detached garage. Josh did such a nice job of communicating and ensured every last detail met our expectations. When unexpected findings came up (which is guaranteed in any renovation), he was thoughtful in presenting options and making it right. Bailey was extremely helpful in making selections and providing ideas that would deliver the aesthetic appeal we were looking for. Any renovation is difficult, it’s important to have a solid team working for you through the process. That’s always been J&J!

Upon receiving 5 estimates for our residential roof replacement we knew immediately we were going with J & J Contractors-thank you to Ryan Boss. Their knowledge, expertise, and their reputation sold us on them. Dave Bartz kept us informed every step of the way, answered questions before we even had a chance to ask. Had a hailstorm that damaged my roof. My son recently had J&J Contractors replace his roof and highly recommended them. Met with Erik, who explained my options in detail. Then met with Dave, the Project Manager, who performed a walkthrough of the project. During the replacement a number of issues were identified and brought to my attention. We talked through his recommendations and completed the work. I was very happy with the communication during the project and the quality of work.

Dave B. and his roofing team did a great job replacing the shingles and 3 skylights. The team was efficient, polite, and left the area clean.

Justin installed the blinds that fit into the skylights. While he was working, he noticed a small area that needed new trim. He was able to get the work done all the same day.

J&J maintained their reputation and surpassed my expectations.  From the start, the estimate was done by the owner, Jason who stayed right on target. He first assigned Roofing Manager, Dave to coordinate a new roof, gutters, downspouts and gutter guards for the home and shed. Dave and his crew are very skilled and efficient. The entire project was completed in two days with no hiccups or delays. Not only was the project completed promptly, but their cleanup was top notch. There was zero debris left around my home.
Jason then assigned Reagan who provided me with several different options for the luxury vinyl plank flooring. Reagan’sintuitive eye provided insight which perfectly captured my vison for the color scheme in our home.
Next, I was introduced to Interior Project Manager, Josh. My first impression of Josh was that he was positive, outgoing and eager. Throughout the process Josh’s communication was transparent as he kept me in the loop every step of the way. The initial plan was to replace the floor and baseboards, but as it progressed I added new doors and casing throughout my home. As the changes occurred, Jason and Josh both displayed patience and proficiency. Jason was very open-minded and fair when the unexpected changes arose.
The projects Finish Carpenter was Joel, who I was most impressed with. His attention to detail and his craftsmanship were simply remarkable. Joel worked hard to make sure there was minimal disruption in our home and lives. Every day before he left, he would clean the area and would even Swiffer all the floors. This is just another example of the J&J staff going above and beyond to serve their customers.
Start to finish it has been a very pleasurable experience. From the top down, their employees displayed constant communication, quality work, amazing customer service and trust. There is no doubt that I will come back again.

I purchased windows and a door through J&J. It's been a little rough. I didn't want to post a negative review when the order was delayed. I didn't want to post a negative review when water came in the new windows in a heavy rain. But now, the wind is drafting in through the window tracks. My order languished with no communication about the job for a couple of months at the start of 2024. It wasn't until I called the company demanding answers that I found out when the windows would be installed. An installation date that was about six weeks beyond what the salesman projected. I thought the installation crew worked very hard and they were friendly. Next, the main reason I even started this project, a new patio door, was damaged when it arrived or was damaged upon arrival. A new door had to be made and there was no rush on the manufacture of it. I waited about 6 weeks after the window project for the door to arrive. Next, two of the new windows leaked big time in a heavy rain. The project manager expressed a lot of concern and he came to check the problem the next day. And now, in a tremendous wind, there is a very definite air flow coming in through at least two of the windows. I'm waiting for the project manager to return my call. I expected something better out of this project for my $20K+.

Installed a new roof after a two layer roof tile tear off. They found several rotted pieces of plywood, and in one corner carpenter ants. Did a excellent job of clean up also. Absolutely the best that Greendale has for a contractor. Very friendly workmen and supervisor folks. They will always be my first choice for future work.
