J.F. Abell Construction & Supply

JF Abell Construction did work on our elderly clients' home and promised it would be done in 3 weeks starting on October 21, 2024. Today is January 25, 2025 and our client has paid $17,000 and her home is still not completed. John kept pushing the dates and promised it would be done by the end of January and he is now ignoring all phone calls from her, her brother, and from us. The kitchen is completely gutted with nothing finished. We found John in a Virginia contracting group where he said he was licensed and insured, only to later find out that he is NOT licensed in Virginia, only Maryland. It is illegal to do class B contracting work over $1,000 in Virginia without a reciprocal license - it's a Class 1 misdemeanor. Everything is well documented and action will be taken. She has been more than patient but completely abandoning an elderly person with NO working kitchen (and other issues) is appalling. Please be aware of this company and specifically John. The photos attached are only showing that he is in a Virginia Contractor group, that he claims to be licensed, and that he did agree to do the work (so no one thinks this review is false.)
