Many thanks to Jacob’s Ladder for doing an exceptional job of installing our new roof - there was considerable damage from a previous (but sadly, still reputable) builder whose installers cut corners terribly.

Shawn & Jacob spent considerable time going over our challenges & concerns, helped us figure out how to repair the interior damage, our concerns for potential mold. They were here for the install, checked regularly on the progress and kept us informed about the previous damage as they went along.

Working with a company we felt comfortable with (who also had competitive pricing) was a relief. Highly, highly recommend them.

They did our roof last and they did a phenomenal job. Our roof looks amazing and they cleaned up our yard thoroughly. They were very attentive, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and did amazing work.

I noticed my roof was leaking and so I called several different companies for estimates. Out of the various places I called the only one to return my call back was Jacob's Ladder Construction and Roofing. It was late in the day so I really wasn't expecting anyone to show up until later in the week but Shawn had just finished out his day and since it was still light out he showed up at the end of a busy day to access my roof. I so thankful I called them. What could have turned into a nightmare for me ended up costing less than I was expecting. I was thinking I was going to have to replace the roof but thanks to Shawn and his professionalism and honesty, he saved me a lot of money. After his thorough inspection it turned out the only thing I needed to do was have my gutters replaced,so I upgraded to a much better gutter system. Thank you so much Shawn for for your honesty, professionalism and taking the time after you had already done a long, hard day's work to come out and inspect my roof.
Shawn let me know that himself and his crew would be out in a few days to take care of the job. I am so pleased with the way it all turned out. In a days time they had the job completed including cleanup. I had a leak on my roof and needed and estimate to fix it. They came out and got it taken care off at a great price couldn’t of called a better company!

I called Jacob's Ladder Construction & Roofing about a leak in our roof after some wicked storms. The same day Shawn came to assess the problem and gave us an estimate. Shawn explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, and stayed in communication with me from start to finish. The whole process went really smooth. Everyone was very professional, nice, and seemed to take pride in their work. I would hire them again if needed and I definitely recommend giving them a call for any roof work!

I was very impressed with the prompt response to my request for a quote. Shawn showed up the next day and thoroughly examined the roof even getting up on it to assess minor details to insure the accuracy of his quote, he was personable and professional. Jacob's Ladder won the bid and showed up the following Monday to begin the project. His crew began removing the old roof at 7:45am and by 3 pm the job was completed, cleaned up and gone. They left behind a beautiful new roof and with their attention to detail, I don't think I'll have to worry about any future problems!

I recently discovered a leak in my living room ceiling. My neighbor had used Jacob's Ladder Roofing and was very pleased so I gave then a call! Shawn was at my house a few hours later! I was expecting a longer wait. Anyway he said I would need a new roof. I asked if he could give me an estimate for repairs.. expecting a few days. He called and had already patched it enough until I can move foward. Thank you! I can't tell you how much it means as I have no way of making repairs myself. I look forward to working with them in the future!

I just had Jacob's Ladder put a roof on my mother's home. I live in Smithfield VA That was the best decision I made having them to do it .Shawn did everything he said he was going to do including going over there and patching the leak we had by the chimney to stop it from leaking until they could get to it which was just a couple of days but they were calling for heavy rain talk about customer service. I have delt with alot of construction company over the years these guy's are the real deal. A company that does what they say they are going to do now how much is that worth.Thanks Shawn for everything Steve Baker

To many positives to list... First, I had a very detailed estimate. Second, they did exactly what was discussed. Third, they found issues with, and replaced wood under the old roof. (They did not just cover the problem back up). Fourth, I had an old skylight that had plastic collar that was cracking and we could not find a new one because it was an old design, so they fabricated a metal one in house. The price was very reasonable and work is backed by a seven year warranty, not to mention i like to do business with local businesses. Would definitely recommend Jacob's Ladder for your roofing needs!!!

We are huge fans of Jacob’s Ladder. We have had several projects completed by the company and have been quite satisfied. We began with interior painting at our home. The team was efficient and skilled. We next had new windows and siding added to our home. The team was hardworking and skilled. All in all, jobs were completed with professionalism and all looks great!

They did an outstanding job on the finishes for our screened in back porch. They managed to add gutters to a tricky roof line and it looks amazing. On time and very professional. Great to work with. We will definitely use them again.

I want to share a recent outstanding experience with Jacob of Jacob's Ladder. I have a large roof with particularly difficult pitches. In November I decided to have it reshingled and had 4 companies out to provide quotes, including Jacob and Shawn of JL. While the specific items and materials quoted by all the roofers were similar, the quote from JL was by far the best priced. And given their solid reputation, my decision to go with JL was easy, and I was not disappointed. In fact, they not only began the job two weeks ahead of schedule, but the workmanship was outstanding, and the workers themselves were very professional and polite. The work was completed within several days and very much to my satisfaction. I should also add that Jacob returned my calls promptly and was very responsive to all my questions. He also went out of his way to meet with me according to my schedule. JL is now my top recommendation for roofers in and around Winston Salem. Thanks again guys!

Roof leaks popping up became a serious problem after a recent storm and not knowing who to call i went down a list of a dozen or so...and this on a Saturday afternoon.! I figured maybe id get a call back from a couple companies...and work something out for the coming week! Not only did Shawn Langan call me within 15 minutes, he came to my home and patched the leaks,.explained to me the cause, and gave me a reasonable idea of the cost to replace the roof completely! I asked because I knew the existing roof was at least 10 years old....this was not a sales tactic!
Needles to say i was very happy with the service i received and will be using these folks next year to replace my roof! Also I must add, thee cost of this service call was very reasonable!

These roofers are great. Shawn, the foreman reviewed what I wanted, suggested alternate ideas (which were better) and said they would be there at 7 am to start work.. at 7 am they were On the Roof working! They did a fantastic job and quickly. Great pricing, good service, respectful and hard working. What more do you expect from a construction company. Highly recommend.

Jacob's Ladder did a phenomenal job on re-roofing my house! They are efficient, professional, dedicated, used hammers and not nail guns, and cleaned everything up. You will be very pleased with their work. I highly recommend Jacob's Ladder.

Moving in 2 days and found a leak in the attic from the vent pipe seal. No one could even look at the job, let alone fix it in any reasonable time, let alone in 2 days. The incredible people at Jacobs Ladder came right over from a local client and fixed the problem, immediately. The worker was extremely knowledgeable and very professional and wasted no time in fixing it. Found the other vent pipe boot was cracked and fixed that 1 too for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Shawn and the crew were great. After being put off by another company first for five weeks and then saying it would be another five, I called Jacob's Ladder on a Monday. By Monday evening they had done a site survey and sent a reasonable quote. By Friday evening I had a brand new roof that looks amazing! It would have been completed on Thursday but we had a day of rain. We were very impressed not only with the roofing itself and the quality of workmanship but also the underlayment products that were used. They also replaced storm damaged trim at the rakes. After the job everything was cleaned impeccably! I would highly recommend Jacob's Ladder for any roofing needs!

We had Jacob's Ladder come and roof our new shop we had built on the back of our lot. They did the work efficiently and kept everything clean during the whole process. The roof looks awesome. The crew was very polite and attentive to any questions or concerns I had. Talking with one of the guys on the job, he had informed me that the company is recently under new ownership. I am very pleased with their work, and as an Interior Designer I will highly recommend them for any roofing jobs in the future. Thank you Jacob's Ladder for your hard work!

UPDATE: This review is for Jacob Goodin, the previous owner of Jacob's Ladder prior to October of 2018. The Business has since been purchased by someone else who has worked tirelessly to correct Jacob's mistakes. Do not hire Jacob Goodin, however, I would not hesitate to now hire Jacob's Ladder now that it is under new ownership.

I hired Jacob to do a large job for me. He never did the job and pocketed approximately $24,000. I offered to let him make payments to pay me back. He made 3 payments and that was it. I gave him multiple opportunities and was extremely gracious yet I lost $24,000. Would definitely not recommend him as he has proven himself very untrustworthy and does not keep his word for anything. I hate leaving negative reviews but after 6 months of trying to work it out and providing ample opportunity to him, here we are. Lesson learned for me.

I heard their commercials "Glorifying God with every Job" and thought maybe this is a company that cares about their clients and work. I scheduled an appt. with them. They called me back an hour or so later to cancel / reschedule which I did. Apparently a scheduling conflict. They set the time and date and I agreed. The day and time came and went and no one showed to give me and estimate. No one even called to let me know they would be a no show. Seems they had my appt. on some one else' calendar who supposedly is in the hospital etc. etc. etc. I spoke with the lady who answers the phone and asked her to contact Jacob and have him call me. I figure the least he could do is tell me himself what the issue is and try to reschedule their rescheduling. Jacob couldn't be bothered to contact me himself and had his assistant tell me he couldn't possibly come by to honor his appt. with me this week. Perhaps he does glorify God in every job he gets paid to do, but he didn't honor or try to make right his commitment to me. Perhaps this is someone's way of telling me not to do business with Jacob?

Jacob's ladder did some work on my roof claiming to fix a leak. They claimed they would give a 1 year guarantee. After 1 month, we had a good rain and the roof leaked straight through ruining brand new hardwood floors that were installed. Furthermore, the drywall work was a patch job. I called Jacob's ladder 2 times a week for the next 3 months. The secretary would pick up the phone and say Jacob would call back - but Jacob never did. After a few times of talking to the secretary, I believe they started screening my calls and just did not pick up. I would not recommend anyone use this company.
