Iowa Legends Roofing & Remodeling

We used Iowa Legends in the summer of 2023 to rebuild one of our decks. In February 2024 we contacted them to redo a second deck because they did a nice job on the first one, and they had records of the colors we used. We signed a contract and wrote a check for $7500 in early March 2024, which has obviously been cashed.

My husband has reached out many times, always getting the run around. We were originally quoted Mid-May 2024 for a rebuild. Then someone died. Someone was murdered. Someone was fired. Maybe these things actually happened, but the bottom line is they've essentially been holding thousands of dollars hostage.

It's November 2024 now, eight months after our check was cashed. I'm attaching a picture of what we were left with after they "demoed" about three weeks ago. We can't even step out onto the deck at this point.

Two stars because the deck they did build was nice, but the last eight months dealing with this unscrupulous company have ensured we will never use them again.

Siding was done less than a year ago and pieces are already fallen off ☹️ called and he told me he would be here to fix five different times with no-shows and lots of excuses Finally had to call somebody else to fix. Hopefully this helps somebody and saves them from the headache and they move on to a company that’s more professional. And trustworthy

The most unresponsive company I have ever worked with. We closed on our house in May of 2022. The previous owner had left us a cashiers check made out to Iowa Legends to complete a new roof on our garage. We spent months trying to get in contact with them to complete the job and on November 3rd (almost 6 months after the original estimate) they finally sent a new estimate totaling $1600 more than the cashiers check already written to them. I spoke with Amber about how I didn't feel it was our fault that this new estimate is so much more since we have been trying to get in contact with them for months. That was on December 1st. She told me the manager would call me back that next Monday. I never heard anything. I called back December 19th and they were magically able to do our garage door much closer to the original estimate. Amber then said they would order materials and it would be complete soon. I didn't hear anything back for weeks so i called again on January 10th, no one answered and left a voicemail. January 11th they called and said the materials were in and the project would be done at the end of the month. This morning January 17th, I have a worker drop off materials at my home. Hours later at 1:30pm, they finally start working on our garage roof. We were not informed at all of when they would be coming to our home. Iowa legends hasn't even told us how/when to give them this cashiers check. This project has taken them 8 months to complete. Unacceptable.

Every single step of this process has been a nightmare and stressful. The lack of communication and professionalism is unreal. If you use this company, be prepared to have to call them every week and stay on top of your project.

I called about hail damage to my siding, Nate came out, took a piece of siding off my house, and filed all the necessary paperwork for insurance. I waited 2 weeks, hadn't heard anything, called Nate, and he said "I've been meaning to come out a grab a piece of siding from your house" to which I replied "you already have my siding" and he said "oh it must still be in my truck, let me look and I will get back to you". That was over 2 months ago and still no one has ever contacted me.

I’m not sure why we didn’t receive the same service as everyone else but we sure didn’t. We came to Iowa Legends because of their reputation.

We had an insurance claim for water damage to a downstairs bathroom. Aaron came out in December 2021 and looked at the project (as well as several other projects). We signed the estimate in early February (took that long to put it together) and patiently waited our turn. Early March, we were repeatedly told, “We’ll be out next week, it’s a 2-day job”, and nothing.

March 15 they got started and sent a contractor they’ve never worked with before. It was a nightmare. Nothing was taped off so our entire house was filthy with drywall dust and the end product looks worse than it did to start with. It was a 4-day project and we reached out to Aaron several times by phone and text to explain how bad it was.

Aaron repeatedly told us he would send his “best guy” out to fix it. More phone calls and texts and then we met with Garry in the office to express our concerns.

More empty promises and here we are the end of May with no resolution.

At this point, we’re done. We will find someone else to fix their mess. This process has been beyond stressful.

The first pictures are the sloppy work, followed by the mess left behind. It’s worse in person. Definitely not quality work and their customer service is terrible.

Approximately an month ago, I called and made an appointment to have someone quote replacing a section of gutter that was damaged from a tree limb falling on it.

The person who answered the phone did a great job of coordinating the meeting and even sent a calendar invite so I could accept it.

A few days later, the appointment which was at noon on a Friday arrived and Nate, the salesman that I was told would be handling the meeting called at 1157 am to tell me he had too much going on to meet today. When I asked about rescheduling he said he would just drive by and quote it. I told him no, that I had questions that I wanted to discuss. He then gave me a huffy sigh, similar to what a young child does when they don't get their way, and said "Fine, I'll have my secretary call Monday and hung up.

Haven't heard from anyone since.

Hired Iowa Legends to do my new siding and gutters. They did a phenomenal job considering the weather conditions. They crew worked diligently and was in and out quickly. I am very happy with the finished product and my home never looked so good! Highly recommend Iowa Legends.

Two jobs done by Iowa Legends have met above standard (A+) completion.
Will be hiring again for our next project.
Iowa Legends custom finished 800 sq.ft. of basement and did a bathroom for us.

We are so happy with our roof and the customer service we received from Josh and his team! I really appreciate the thoroughness and time taken to clean up the yard since we have two little ones. The final product looks great, and we will definitely go to the Iowa Legends for future projects!

Iowa Legends has been the best contractor to work with. They are extremely responsive. Josh helped us decide which shingles were best for our home and got everything lined up perfectly. Their crew showed up today and replaced the roof. You can't even tell anyone was here, well except for the amazing new shingles. Even our neighbor said it looks great!

Nick did a great job on helping us decide what product to use and what color to go with. He also did a great job with communicating the status on things. We would highly recommend Iowa Legends Roofing & Remodeling. We had 5 different quotes on re-shingling our house. They came in below their competitors. In 2 weeks time, we had an estimate, picked out our shingles and yesterday the job was completed. Josh is very knowledgeable, timely and answered all our questions. Their crew worked hard, arrived at 6:30 AM and the job was done by 6:00 PM. They did an excellent job with their clean-up as well. So pleased with the job from start to finish. I will legends is an amazing company. Josh the owner offers exceptional customer service. We hired him to do our roof, and he went above and beyond and helped us with our siding. After contacting multiple companies who kept trying to downplay the minor issue we wanted to get fixed in the now in favor of trying to force the total roof replacement when we couldn't make that happen, and then being ghosted when they couldn't secure the bigger job, we finally found our contractor for any and all future projects. Josh and his crew bid the small roof repair we needed, and a small siding repair, and not only came in at an affordable rate, but was extremely understanding and pleasant to work with. His work was done efficiently and with great quality. we will absolutely be using Josh and the Iowa Legends crew for all or repair and remodel needs, big or small!

We had to have some work done in our living room after a tree limb fell through our roof. Josh was extremely knowledgeable and quoted us exactly what it would be cost wise. There were no surprises and within a week we had it scheduled and done. After all was said and done you couldn’t even tell where the limb had gone through. I highly recommend!!!

They only did an amazing job, it’s obvious they care about customer service above anything else. Ryan gave me a reasonable quote on drywall for my closet. The craftsman was a clean and prompt. I appreciate the in and out.

I reached out to Josh for a quote on a new roof for our 100 year old house with a steep pitch. He put together a great quote and warranty. Very nice to deal with as there was no 'salesman' horse and pony show. He advised what I needed and what he recommended with no pressure.
Then came the actual work... the crew showed up early and worked HARD all day. What I expected to be AT LEAST a two day job was completed in one. They cleaned up VERY well and the finished product looks AMAZING!
