Loved working with Cory, Michael, and the whole crew. We lived through a 4 month interior reno (kitchen, main bath, mudroom, pretty much our entire first floor), and Hussey was great balancing a huge project with us in the home. There are always so many moving parts, and things that go sideways, in renovation but I always trusted that Hussey had my back and would make sure it was all finished to my satisfaction. Most importantly they understood my desire to honor our 100-year old home, from hand-making matching molding, to restoring the original wood floors, to making transitions between spaces truly seamless. Love having them as part of my community and I truly can now call them friends!

Corey and his team took our vision and executed it to perfection! They turned our dairy barn into a beautiful and functional home. They were professional, responsive, easy to work with and really listened to our ideas. They offered workable solutions to a unique construction project. 10:10 experience with Hussey and Sons. We started with an unfinished basement and now have an new, beautiful, professionally done entire additional floor of living space to enjoy with family and friends. At a time when all general contractors are slammed you would never know it with how responsive and reliable Michael and Cory were from the moment we met. Michael worked with me (very patiently) to create a floor plan and walked us through the process the entire way. As first time home owners we had MANY questions and the Hussey guys were always kind and patient. The quality of work is superb and when you meet these guys you can see why- they take a great deal of pride in a job well done and it shows. Perhaps the best part of this experience was getting to know the crew. I’m already planning our next project so I can have them around again. Oh! I must also mention how Matt and Adam made us birdhouses with scraps from the job and pine bark from our property. Like I said before- really great guys… To anyone wondering if you should hire Hussey and Sons, please do yourself a favor and give them a call- they are awesome at what they do and you won’t be disappointed.

What a great experience. Hussey and Sons did everything they said they would and even came under budget. The porch addition looks better in real life than it did as drawings that Michael provided. The deck they replaced is in front of the bicycle and it looks like it was always there. Great job guys.

Hussey and Sons worked with us to plan and execute a remodel during which we converted a large garage into living space (entryway, office, bedroom, closet, bathroom). Their team was wonderful to work with through and through. They helped us design a space that would fit our functional needs, flow nicely with the rest of our home and was within budget. I was impressed with their communication both via email and via phone - we knew at all times what steps were next and they engaged us for all decisions. Hussey and Sons kept on schedule and coordinated seamlessly with the subcontractors the job required. Each member of the team was pleasant to have in our home and proved to be very knowledgeable - putting up with my many questions. I recommend them to anyone looking!

So glad we connected with Hussey & Sons on our remodel project. We had initially contracted them to build out a staircase, install subfloor on the entire 2nd floor, and build all of the partition walls on the 2nd floor as well. In the process of starting the project, they identified some serious structural issues that a previous contractor had left behind. We add those structural fixes onto the project, and they completed all all work on time and on budget. Highly professional crew and just very helpful in general.

I have had the most professional and expert services from Hussey and Sons. They were able to guide us through a difficult remodel on an older home and the workmanship was perfect and done in a very timely manner. We hired Hussy and Sons after discovering a wall in our basement was entirely rotted away due to improper instillation of the deck directly above that wall and years of subsequent water damage. We hired Hussey and Sons to fix the rot and replace the deck and could not be happier with the quality of the work, the price we paid, and the customer service we received. They seemed to go out of their way to stick to the time frame we were given at the start of the job: one night workers stayed until it was almost dark and seemed happy to do so. The workers could not have been nicer or more respectful. They cleaned up after themselves each day and left our yard and basement immaculate at the end of the project. We plan to use them for home repairs and remodeling in the future. We strongly recommend them to anyone!

The team at Hussey and Sons was excellent to work with on my decking project. They were professional, on time, and responsive throughout. The estimates were precise and detailed so no one was surprised at the conclusion of the job.They even worked over the weekend to finish the job so my family could come back to our completed project. I highly recommend Hussey & Sons for your home project needs. My 2.5 story colonial had severe weather damage on the gable end that required stud replacement and repair, sheathing replacement, new windows and cedar siding, finished trim and painting. Cory Hussey and his team inspected the exterior side of my home and provided a clear overview of the work that was needed. Since the extent of the damage underneath the siding was unknown, Cory provided insight on what he has encountered on other homes and how he addressed the damage. Mike provided a clear and detailed proposal outlining the scope of the project. Communication throughout the process was excellent. The team’s professionalism and work ethic was evident throughout the project.

Once the siding was removed and they could better assess the condition, they tackled the repair with a clear and efficient plan. The windows were then installed and sealed to prevent leaking. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail and ensuring that the work was done right.

The installation of the siding was done with care and precision. As an example, between the abutting seams of the clapboards, they used a strip of aluminum flashing to ensure wind-driven rain did not penetrate the exterior. I consider this to be above and beyond a normal installation and it really speaks to the care and quality of their work. Since they have a lot of experience with homes on the coast, they approach their work with methods to keep water on the outside of the home despite the direction or intensity of the wind.

They built one-piece frames (pvc) that trimmed the windows perfectly and plugged the counter sunk screws with pvc plugs to give the windows a finished look.  Cory hand-built 2 gable vents from pvc that will outlast anything you can buy pre-made.Through the process, Matt shared some personal tips from the trade that were very helpful to me.

Highly recommend Hussey & Sons. I hired them to replace a falling front stoop. Their response time and quote was very reasonable. The project was done in two days and it completely changed the face of my house. I’m impressed by the way they blended in the vinyl siding; it’s as if the awning had never been there. I admittedly had an issue with where they borrowed existing siding from, but the owner returned on a Saturday morning to remedy the matter. I’m a strong believer that they way a company responds to customer concerns is a huge indicator of character and quality. Thank you Hussey & Sons for improving the safety and appearance of my front entry!

They were fantastic. This was a complete gut job and remodel of our dining room and kitchen for our antique farm house. The remodel was extensive considerable structural work. They had a schedule and delivered on time. Their subcontractors (electician and plumber) were super. I wished to both do the painting and finish the floors. they seamlessly worked with me to fit the schedule so this could be done. Super interactive about what to expect every week. Professional crew that was exceptional reliable and trust worthy. As a plus they actually made a custom door header to match the 160 year old existing moldings. this was a $100K project on an antique home. Cory was fabulous at providing simple solutions to "surprises" on such a project. He knows his stuff and I am picky. I recommend them highly as a homeowner with considerable DYI experience. amazing quality and great to work with.

I own a business in Kennebunkport and had a property emergency this week. I tried every local construction group I knew and everyone was completely booked. Eventually, I called my Biddeford based electrician and he suggested Hussey and Sons. Wow! it was like winning the lottery. They came Tuesday night at 8:30PM to assess the situation and they came to work at 2:00 Wed afternoon. 6 hours later they were finished and cleaned up. I wish I had known about this company before. From start to finish they were a delight to work with.

Cory and his team came to my rescue after a bad experience with another contractor.i wish i had known about them in the first place. Professional, knowledgeable, neat and upbeat with no lolly gagging. So refreshing. Once they got to me the job came together so fast.
