I hired HomePro RX in Spring 2021 for two projects in my 1920s home: replacing rotted wood on the porch and enlarging a window in my kitchen. My concerns shared here were also shared with the owner and they subsequently discounted my total project fee 10%. However, as a consumer I would have wanted to know if other projects had had similar issues, which is why I am still writing this review.
After signing our contract, communication completely broke down with HomePro RX. It seems they have recently moved to a new project management platform that, to date, just isn’t working. I expressed concerns about communication very early on, but it was never addressed until an apology was made at the end of my project. Further, details about my project were not communicated internally, including design requests, pricing for services rendered, material costs, and contract terms. We had to double and triple check invoices with our contract, where we found inaccuracies that we had to dispute. For instance, they severely over ordered materials - that we paid for up front - for the project, and they tried to invoice for other materials on a flat-fee contracted project (claiming they were materials for the other project, which was inaccurate). When the project was “complete” we were invoiced immediately without being given our contracted punch list and the project manager did not check in with us or review the work. As a result, we have two projects that are incomplete, with wood filler un-sanded and stray screws sticking out of the woodworking (see images). We had also asked about the painting process throughout our project, which we learned at invoicing was not part of what they considered to be in the contracted price. In the end, we informed HomePro RX that we do not want them to return to correct the remaining issues and they refunded us 10% for our trouble.
Leaving 3 stars because the owner, Jorge, was apologetic and understanding of our concerns in the end and did refund us some money. I hope that HomePro RX can get on top of their communication workflows so that projects can go smoother and finish correctly in the future.

I have worked with Jorge and his crew many times. First, a few years ago, they tore out our ugly carpet and hideous railings and installed beautiful hardwood floors and new railings. When we needed to have things done around the house, Home Pro RX was the first place I called to fix some things. We hired them for handyman services and they did everything from reconstructing the bottom of a cabinet that had been water damaged to patching up many walls. Finally, we needed to have some painting done and we’re very happy with the results. Everyone on Jorge’s team is incredibly courteous, respectful of our property and detail oriented. They always show up when expected and never leave even a speck of dirt when they leave. I highly recommend using them for anything you need around the house!

Jorge and his crew did a new Trex deck last year at my house. I waited a year to write a review to see how things went and I’m SO pleased! First, Jorge gave us a 2 year warranty on the work. This gave me confidence that he would do the job right. Over the winter, I noticed that the lattice he had installed cracked all around the perimeter of the deck. I was worried, but remembered the warranty! I texted Jorge and he responded promptly that he would take care of it free of charge- and he did!! He came out to look at it and replaced all of it! It looks beautiful and he tried something else so that it won’t crack again. That is hard to come by these days- let me tell you.

I’ve had several terrible contractors over here and they were a disaster! Jorge is not one of these contractors. He is a true professional. He pays attention to detail, takes pride in his work, and gives fair prices. Our deck project was not easy. He had to make some seriously hard cuts around our above ground pool to make it flush up against it and it looks PHENOMENAL. A year later it still looks beautiful! He connected our existing deck to this new deck, made stairs down to the new deck, and made a gate to close it off. They even installed a Trex railing to match. Keep in mind this occurred at the start of covid with plants shutting down and supplies being limited. Jorge still got the job done!

Jorge is in constant contact with the building inspectors and I NEVER had to worry about the project not going as planned. When hiccups came up in the planning process he called the inspector to make sure that what we were doing was correct. We had to have correct heights and distance from our existing deck to be up to code. Our deck passed inspection with ease. Jorge made the whole process simple and not stressful.

We had some minor issues such as the gate not closing properly and one new board had split after the deck was finished. With one text message, Jorge was on it and took care of it all! You will NOT HAVE TO WORRY with Home Pro Rx. They will do the job correctly, stand behind their work, and do it at a fair price. I am currently working with Jorge on another project in my home and I don’t need to worry about the end result. I know it will be great. Go with Home Pro Rx!!!!

HomeProRX installed my Trex deck and did a phenomenal job. Even the town inspector was impressed with the workmanship! Jorge and his team at HomePro also did a great job taking out an old door, installing a new wall, and matching my existing paint to finish it off. The team did a wonderful job with everything. Now, the best part of my house is actually outside the house. We will definitely enjoy it this spring. Thank you, HomePro RX.

Due to the most recent tornado that came through our neighborhood I had extensive roof and interior damages. Jorge came by gave me an estimate, did a great job in a timely manner and it looks better than it did before

Jorge and his crew have completed several projects for us, including a kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, living room remodel and window/door replacement, as well as a complete refurbishment of our deck and installation of exterior ambient lighting. Well it’s July 4th and Jorge’s team came to the rescue to fix a small, yet active, leak between our roof and kitchen vent. Already had guys at a worksite nearby so did not even charge us for emergency services. Rare to find someone like that, especially on a holiday weekend. He was so kind and helpful! Jorge and his team were extremely helpful. We had a tight timeline to knock down a wall in our basement as well as install and replace some screen doors, and they were able to get it done within that timeframe when no one else could. From start to finish, HomePro Rx was a great company to work with! I was looking for a contractor to do the "build out" for my business (yoga studio) and HomePro Rx was recommended to me by a fellow business owner. In our initial meeting, Jorge offered suggestions for the layout of the space that were FAR better than what I had been envisioning. I had never met a contractor who was so good at all phases of the building process, including designing!

Just a few days later he showed me his proposed floor plan and a detailed, itemized proposal. His prices were very fair and well-explained, and we easily negotiated changes to his initial proposal, as my vision for the space evolved. The demolition and construction phases went seamlessly. Each evening the crew left the space meticulously clean and Jorge texted me to tell me what had been completed that day, as well as what was pending for the following day. Communication was clear, honest and reliable.

I was on-site for much of the construction phase, as I was working on getting the business up and running. Jorge and his crew create an exceptionally pleasant working environment together, and it was nice to work along side them. At one point, Jorge had an idea for the main doorway into the studio which was quite different than what we had originally discussed. I couldn't quite envision what he meant....but by then I had a strong sense of his creative abilities and knew I should just give him creative freedom. I'm so glad I did! The doorway is beautiful; it's a work of art. Everyone who enters the studio comments on it.

Competent, creative, reasonably-priced, on-time, reliable, kind and conscientious...what more could anyone want in a contractor?

I have to say I am THOROUGHLY impressed with HomePro Rx! We had quite a few companies come out to our home to give us a quote on some repairs we were looking to have done to our wooden retaining walls. Jorge (the owner) himself came to our home and went over all the options in regards to the the repairs and even explained the pros and cons of each option. The response time to my phone calls and texts were timely and professional and the quote was actually provided to us the very same day! The price we were quoted was VERY reasonable and everything was itemized which was so helpful to see! Once we decided to hire Jorge for the job he was able to fit us into his schedule within less than a week. He showed up to our house right on time and the job was done flawlessly.
